I went to see Dr. Dubois at Hyde Park Dtown for Restylane, I really wanted it under my eyes, that was the whole reason for me going. The gal asked me what I wanted done, I told her under my eyes, she said dr. D wouldn’t do it, he doesn’t do eyes unless he really thinks you need it. I’m 46, I need it. When dr. D walked in he asked what I wanted done, told him under eyes he said «No I don’t do eyes» Why I asked. He then proceeds to sell me other treatments available that would benefit me more, the long term treatments, more pricier. This wasn’t my first filler, had it done under eyes before, different doctor, I just felt he was very pushy and boast full. Filler sessions take 15min, I was there for an hour and a half. He’s definitely a talker this one, like a fast salesman, letting me know he’s the best Doctor that does this, how he invented the X treatment, blah blah. Instead of getting eyes, I got fillers around my mouth and a small line between my eyes. As he’s injecting the filler he says by the way you could be the 5% that bruises, I believe he said it because he knew he pinched something. I did end up getting
a bruise on my left side. I also feel a build up of filler on my right side. Between my eyes filler feels like a big bump of filler, hurts a bit. I’ve had fillers done before, never hurt or felt painful like this before. NOT to mention this gross dry sticky piece of spit that he has when he talks! It never goes away, it was distracting and gross. I will never go back to Dr. D, don’t care for his practice, his boasting, his unskilled hand at fillers and his gross spit.

I went to the Institute for Laser and Aesthetic Medicine in the spring of 2011 for laser hair removal. They did a number of questionable things that make me wish I had never set foot in their office.
First, Dr. DeBias sold me on the five-​treatment package by stating that while results would not be entirely permanent, he could «take care of all of the hair [I] have right now in February 2011,» a statement he now denies making.
He did not look closely at the hair I wanted removed, and it was not until my third appointment that I was told that there was «a lot of blond» in my hair and therefore it wasn’t removable. This should have been made clear to me at the consultation. The hair appears dark to my eyes, and one would hope that the self-​proclaimed «most experienced laser hair removal» provider in southeastern PA would be able to discern the difference at the consultation.
It was not until I complained at my second appointment about the ineffectiveness of the first treatment that I was told that additional «touch-​up» appointments are available if not all the hair falls out after a treatment – but I had waited too long to ask for one. And it was not until my fourth visit to the office that I was told that an appointment I thought was a touch-​up, twenty days after my second treatment, was actually counted against my five purchased treatments because I was in a «new hair growth cycle.» No mention had been made to me of the window of time open for touch-​ups. Rather, they let me waste yet another treatment.
When I developed red, oozing, flaky patches in the area that was most heavily treated with the laser, I got the run-​around from Jeanne, who blamed it on benzoyl peroxide (which I have used for over a decade without incident, and currently use again with no problems) and also said «I can get the doctor to look at you if you want, but I can tell you what he is going to say.» This woman is not a doctor and should not be dispensing medical advice.
Finally, when I told them that I wanted to discontinue my treatments, it took almost two months to get any money refunded — and I had only used three of the five treatments!
These people are hiding behind the fact that there are no guaranteed results in laser hair removal, but it doesn’t mean that they don’t have to give their clients the information they need to obtain the full benefit of the treatment package. It would have taken them less than a minute to say «Your hair should fall out within 10 – 14 days. If it doesn’t, call the office for a touch-​up at no cost. You only have until 19 days after the treatment, though, or you’re in a new hair growth cycle.» Instead they let me learn all of the above through trial and error while using up $ 200 treatments at a time. I hope other people stay far away from this business to avoid the extreme frustration I feel at having wasted so much money.
