Its an alright place, probably the only thing i like are the workers. They get to know you and are very friendly. Parking is fast since the place is tiny. Its got an old school charm its pretty cute. They have quality meat that is cut there, I only say that because the butcher came out to restock what he just cut and gave us a few picks. They do have nice HEB deals i love to get. The produce dept could be a lot better, I was once there and a worker was talking to a manager(im assuming) and the worker was saying that some bananas were brown and turned that he should sell them at a lower cost, the manager says no they will still sell. It was a little odd, they looked pretty bad. Other than that I like that you can get in and out pretty quick for it being an HEB

Located in the heart of downtown Killeen, this must be the red-headed stepchild of all the other H-E-B’s. It lacks the remodeled upkeep of its spoiled, bratty sisters who have stolen all the attention. With some of its windows covered up with plywood boards and the same unappealing look it’s had for decades, this place definitely lacks a lot of love. There’s a security guard standing near the front of the entrance and a plain-clothed security guard right by the exit. Is there something sacred here? What exactly are they guarding? I’m feeling scared. Should I be? The inside is just as ignored as the dismal outside. Nothing special. I actually feel sorry for this poor lil’ H-E-B since it’s all people have in this particular area. To quote the old adage, «it’s what’s inside that counts,» …I guess.
