This is such an awesome store. I get alot of my instruments from here. In the past few years I have purchased an acoustic and electric drum kit, a bass guitar and a 12 string acoustic. Today I took my 12 string and another guitar not purchsed from here in for them to look at it because they had water damage from a fire. Vincent cleaned up the 12 string and Angel hooked me up with some strings. Thank you guys for being so awesome!

The Excellent staff were very helpful and knowledgable. Purchased two guitars(one for me, one for my nephew) and the folks there were great at helping me make a good choice. My go-to guitar shop from now on!

I’ve been visiting this guitar center since day one. I even have the guitar strap I won at the grand opening. I remember coming in and always feeling at home. Employees were always friendly and made it feel like you were part of the family. Well the past few years crime has risen in the Killeen area and it seems like there is always fatal wrecks on the roads in that area. Needless to say I just stayed home and did my guitar shopping online like most normal people. It’s been about 3 years since stepping into this guitar center and things have really changed. The store is still the same but the staff and atmosphere is completely different. My wife and I came here on a Sunday a little after 12pm and all the employees looked shocked to see us as if we should have notified them upon our arrival. None of the staff asked if I needed help but instead stared awkwardly at us as if we were intruding on a private party. So I broke the ice and asked if I could get some help, one employee offers to help and he seemed so nervous. I was trying to sell a delay pedal so he’s testing it out and tells me that Guitar center can’t accept the pedal because it doesn’t work. After looking at the pedal the guy never had it plugged in… yeah. So I waited around for him to finish up with the testing and I noticed that there’s not nearly as many customers as there use to be. I remember walking in years ago and always hearing people testing out amps, guitars, drums etc. I wouldn’t say it was necessarily«bad» service but definitely awkward… like maybe I shouldn’t be there. I live in temple and luckily there’s a Hastings book store next door so my trip wasn’t completely wasted. I think I’ll stick to online shopping next time.

Guitar Center in a general sense, it brings back a lot of memories. I’ve been visiting Guitar Centers since I was in California. My pops introduced me to this place & I’ve been making it a tradition to visit every now & then. I love the private acoustic rooms because that’s where my best friend would play & I would sing along to my favorite classic, Hotel California. They have everything you need & service is above and beyond my expectations. They aren’t pushy but very informative if you had any questions. I’m planning to get back into the world of instruments but first, I’d like to have my own recording set up & they sure have options. Whether you’re just stopping by to take a look or committing your soul to the sounds of music, you should definitely put Guitar Center on your list.

Prompt service. As a recent born again rhythm guitarist/vocalist /enthusiast, I was caught off guard by an associate that was less knowledgeable about guitars than me. It should be the other way around. It’s all good for it wasn’t for a lack of willingness to help. I’m a fan of Takamine. Acoustic cutaway guitars have the aesthetics I like and Takamine has the electronics I’m looking for. I was presented with a Fender that struck my fancy. Price was great. To give an idea of this: A pawn shop in Temple where Heart of Texas Music used to be had USED of the same model for 10 bucks more. Rip off? Of course! But expected from a Pawn Shop. Selection was stellar BUT no Takamine in sight! What? They have giant letters by brand and while the word said TAKAMINE there was a giant selection of Ibanez, Yamaha, Fenders, etc where the guitars should have been. So based on lack of knowledge and disorganized selection I knock off 2 stars but I give 3 for prompt service and willingness to help.

Its a standard Guitar Center but has a huge plus! The main reason to go to this store is because of the high turnaround rate of the used merchandise coming out of Ft. Hood! You can get sick deals from soldiers upgrading their gear and trading in their old(sometimes rarely used) instruments for brand new stuff. It is best to check their inventory about 1 – 2 a month. Their staff is friendly and their online support is pretty good.
