Have gone to the Outer Banks a lot in the summers and these donuts are worth every penny. These donuts are delicious and I’m not huge on donuts. Actually I don’t like donuts, but these donuts I love. I’m more of a croissant lover, but this is the only donut I would eat. Pour powder sugar or cinnamon sugar and I’m a happy person. Usually we have to be at the Outer Banks, but I’ve read that there building one near where I live and I’m gonna try it out, but it might be the ocean breeze that makes these donuts delicious.

Warm and delicious, you won’t find a better donut in the Outer Banks! I stopped in on a weekday morning in the winter, and I was the only customer. The two ladies working were super friendly and one had my fresh donut ready before the other was finished ringing me up. Excellent service. I got my donut with a mint glaze and chocolate frosting– a current special. It was delicious! Wish there had been somewhere for me to enjoy it inside, though.

These were the best donuts by far the far the best we have ever had. You must try the maple bacon, it is a great combination of flavors.

Will return next time we visit OBX. The donuts are great hot, but honestly I prefer to let them cool down and keep them at our condo. The ordering system is really easy, you write everything down on a card so there is no room for error– and then you can watch them make your donuts. Great place!

We stop every time we visit the OBX. HOT donuts made to order. Chocolate, Vanilla, strawberry, but seriously… MAPLE. Get them by the BOX(dozen) There is nothing like them where we are from!

First time visiting. Awesome donuts, period! Don’t let the plain glazed donut fool you, it’s full of yummy taste. Love the chocolate and orange glazed the best. The staff is friendly and it’s really cool to see them preparing your order close up. You can get your coffee at Dunkin, but get your donuts here.

Yeah, I’m going to be that guy that says, «I don’t get it.» Seriously. I don’t. There are many restaurants that I know of that have a cult following(like In-N-Out Burger!) and I get most of them. This one, I don’t. The donuts were tasty, but not out-of-this world. The service was fast, but it’s basically an assembly line, so not much to mess up. The line was out the door by the time we ordered and I honestly said after eating the donuts that I would be fine being 3rd or 4th in line, but there’s no way I would wait in a line out the door, no matter how fast it was moving. Since you custom order the donuts, we decided to try some interesting combinations: Vanilla Donut + Peanut Butter Icing + Chocolate Sprinkles: We were going for the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup effect and it worked okay. The icing over-powered everything else, so it was more peanut butter than anything. Vanilla Donut + Cinnamon Sugar + Rainbow Sprinkles: Pretty much what you would expect from any establishment selling sprinkled and/or cinnamon sugar donuts. Nothing to rave about. Chocolate Donut + Maple Icing + Bacon: This was the«way out there» donut we tried and it was okay. Again, like the first one, the icing overpowered everything. And I was expecting crispy bacon(and a nice crunch to go with the soft donut), but theirs was more on the chewy side. One thing I don’t get about everybody raving about this place is that the options really aren’t that crazy. If you take sprinkles out of the equation, you essentially have some flavored donuts with flavored icing. Whoop-de-doo! The craziest things they have are maple icing and bacon. Everything else is pretty standard. Oh, and the donuts are hot. Okay, but I’m not standing in a ridiculously long line for hot donuts that essentially taste like something I can buy at a supermarket and warm in a microwave. While I wouldn’t refuse Duck Donuts if someone bought them and brought them to the house, I wouldn’t go out of my way to get them and I would take«Hot Now» over these any day.

At 8am on a Sunday, this place had a loooong line … for a good reason! Duck donuts makes your donuts to order! You have your choice of glaze and your choice of toppings… if you choose. I got the peanut butter glaze with coconut flakes on top. Best donuts I have ever had — and I don’t even like donuts! My donuts were still warm and fluffy! In the words of Agnes, «it’s so fluffffyyyyyy»

Best. Donuts. Ever. I’m not even a donut person. Crisp on the outside, fluffy(not dense) in the middle, this was a really excellent donut. My favorite flavor was the lemon icing. My friends hyped up this place but it’s worth the hype!

My bf was raving about getting a duck donut all weekend so had to go try it out before we left. First off, it was packed but moved fairly quickly. You fill out an order form and then give it to the cashier. Nice system. There is an assembly line of workers where each donut is made to order. This place is quick. We also ordered breakfast sandwiches with our donuts. Mm the donuts were fresh, hot, and quite delicious! I also rarely eat donuts anymore because of the health factor but I thoroughly enjoyed it. My favorite one was the maple with bacon bit toppings. The price for half a dozen is around $ 7. Great price for donuts. You can also order single donut.

I don’t get this place or the reviews, I have never had a fresh hot donut before and really only eat them once in a while. so I thought heck I am on vacation why not so with all the rave reviews I went in first thing in the morning. I got one just one with peanut butter glaze as I was going to split this one donut with husband and he loves peanuts butter. First off the cashier acted like she would rather be having a tooth pulled, made to order ok so they offer some sprinkles, powdered sugar and some glaze kind of over selling this statement don’t ya think? anyway the donut was very small but it was fluffy not warm at all and after he took his two bites I asked him so what did that taste like to you he said well just a run of the mill glaze donut. I told him it was peanut butter he did not believe me. Maybe we hit the wrong day maybe no stars were aligned but personally not sure if I would go back or not they were not expensive and were fluffy and yea they will sprinkle or glaze yours before you buy them maybe now that my expectations are not so high i will not be disappointed and maybe I was put off by the cashier and it spoiled my morning and put a bad taste in my mouth so there would be no way this would tasted great but I have had better at seven eleven or sheetz I had to go to their site to see what they offer again, This list all of these were not offered when I went, even if they were still sprinkling and dipping it does not instill in me «made to order» Coating Choices: Bare Cinnamon Sugar Powdered Sugar Glazed Vanilla Icing Chocolate Icing Lemon Icing Peanut Butter Icing Maple Icing Strawberry Icing Topping Choices: Shredded Coconut Chocolate Sprinkles Rainbow Sprinkles Chopped Peanuts Bacon

Total lecker!!!

OOOOhhh sweeets! I love them, hard for me to ever turn them down. Down in thee outer banks for vacation, and at the recommendation of my co-worker I tried Duck Donuts. He built them up so high, like up to heaven high. Why would I NOT try them? Exactly. I have no idea where this place is, other than being on the main highway down in the thee OBX. It is right in the same shopping center as I believe a Sunsations and a fudge place. Inside is quite small, I can’t say there is really places to sit and what not. I look at the options, place my order and watch them work. Okay, in case you didn’t know, duck donuts has the traditional cake donut. BUT, there is nothing traditional about this place, IMHO. The cake donuts are literally made right in front of your eyes, from the dough, to the dropping in the oil, the flippage, to the popping out piping hot. Next you decide on what you want from plain, to dips(think chocolate, vanilla, lemon, etc.) and toppings. There are pretty much a gazillion combos of donuts and toppings. There is a daily donut, on this date, it was«The Beach,» this had vanilla toppings and cinnamon sugar. So after deciding what we all wanted, which BTW is hard, I mean it is a lot. We took our warm, topping fulfilled donuts and headed on out. Now to the good part, the donuts! What can I say, pure damn perfection. The donuts were still hot from the oil, the combinations were amazeballs, I tried the maple bacon, which tasted like breffis in my mouth, think pancakes and syrup. I also had the almond joy, and something that had maple, chocolate and peanuts. I’m not sure what that name was. No, folks I didn’t eat the whole blame donut, I simply tasted… or something like it. I wasn’t able to taste the donut of the day, as it was instantly devoured… d’oh. No worries, it is an excuse to go back.

Sometimes you come across the perfect specimen of a food group. That happened to us last week when we got the privilege of having Duck donuts for breakfast. These are cake donuts, but not. I hate cake donuts. I’m actually not a huge fan of donuts at all, but hey, this was vacation! This is how it works. You go into the store and basically they make your donuts fresh, to order. You choose an icing(maybe 8 options?) and a topping(6 options maybe?). If you are ordering several you can fill out a form. Then you wait, maybe 3 minutes, 5 – 10 if they’re swamped. They call out your number and your donuts are handed to you, HOT, in a box. I highly recommend the maple with bacon, the lemon with coconut, and the peanut butter with chocolate. I can not say enough about how good these are! This«non-donut lover» went there 2x in four days!

Duck donuts! What’s not to like about a donut shop where you can pick your glaze and toppings and create your own style of donut? Ducks makes the donuts fresh in house and are served fresh hot! They dip them in the icing of your choosing and follow by the topping if you choose to do so. Let me say they taste great and can be very addicting for sure! I enjoyed them very much so! Absolutely I’d come back to ducks donuts and get then again!

We stopped here after stopping next store(Try My Nuts) and were pleasantly surprised by the donuts. They are made to order and are delicious! I had the almond joy donut and my husband opted for the maple and bacon donut. Both of us commented on the fact that even if the donuts hadn’t had a thing on them, they were delicious. They were most and melt in your mouth good. Perfect for a cup of coffee and watching the ocean and the sun rise. There can be a bit of a wait to get your fresh donut but in my opinion? It is definitely worth it!

A local favorite and must stop for donut lovers! Not your typical donut, it tastes less fried and more on the cakey side. Can’t wait for the one in Herndon to open!

Who doesn’t love a donut? These donuts are fresh, made to order, warm, and just delicious. My all time fave donut when I was a kid was — and still is — a glazed donut, but the game changer at Duck Donuts is the maple icing donut topped with bacon. Yumm. The closest DD to me is Williamsburg — a 2.5 hour drive — it may be worth the drive.
