If you want to watch sports, drink a beer, and enjoy the view of the beach, Moose’s is the place for you. Even with a family, you can enjoy some good old burgers and nachos for lunch. They also have a keiki(kid’s) menu. The food itself is okay, but it is within walking distance from many of the hotels and timeshare properties along Kihei. Just walk up the stairs from Fred’s Mexican Café

Good food and a quiet afternoon for lunch. Service was a little slow this afternoon but she was real friendly. Everything was good. I had the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl which was very good. I am not a mushroom fan, but may be the only one on the planet. But I ate everything in the bowl except the shrooms. We always like coming here to get a quick bite

I’m not really sure why the reviews are so spread out. This place was awesome. The food was great, atmosphere was a blast, and cocktails were very reasonably priced.

My husband and I ate here twice on our last vacation and both times we had Amy as our server. She was so sweet and attentive to not only our table but the entire(packed) bar. The food was decent, the views are awesome and the service was fantastic!

Came before happy hour and luckily it was cinco de mayo day $ 8 margaritas! First time here. It’s much bigger than how it looks on the outside. Great pics posted on every part of the wall included the bathrooms. Good service and friendly staff. Wings were very good. Flavorful, spicy but not too hot. Pupu entrée had a sample of wings, nachos, potato skins and onion rings. All ono! No complaints here! Washington Apple shots were … hmmm… delicious!!!

Moose’s is our Tuesday spot. Taco Tuesdays! I get the Kahlua pork, dad gets chicken, mom gets shrimp. When you order taco tuesday tacos, its just the tacos on a plate– so get some chips and salsa or a side, too. I’ve also had the white fish and chips, and its good. but I always go back to the tacos. The only one we werent impressed with was the steak, so we skip it. We almost always order one or two more after our first round. Moose’s is loud, busy, and fun — just like it should be. If you’re a prude, go elsewhere. If you think funny pictures on the wall, strong drinks, and throwback music videos are fun, this is your spot. The view of the sunset cannot be beat, and the open air flowing through is cooling and perfect. Freds is below, and I think that confuses people. Walk past the line, and up the stairs. You’re welcome!

Really disappointed with the entertainment selection. Tasteless music videos in a restaurant is inappropriate. I’m sitting here watching kids watch this stuff. So if you have children or would rather not watch bumping and grinding on surrounding tv’s, eat somewhere else. Food is ok, Fred’s downstairs is way better!

If ya like sports and music videos with pub/grill type food, then this is the place for you! My chicken strips were good, a little better than Denny’s use to serve. The hamburgers we ok and were priced well within the other places in Kihei. I still think that 808 Grindz truck has the best slider burger in town here. My cousin had the ‘all you can eat’(whitefish) Fish & Chips. The Fish & Chips were breaded, packaged and shipped frozen. 4 star for Ambiance and view! I would only go back for the Chicken strips for sure. Outback can’t even come close in comparison. I don’t like sports, yet I did enjoy the music videos and it was just the right loudness so you could still hear each other talk.

You are on vacation in Maui and want to watch the football while the wife wants a view of the setting sun over the ocean beach horizon. Where do you go? Moose McGillycuddy’s, right on South Kihei, across from Kamaole Beach 1. No moose here in Maui, except those mounted on the walls of this restaurant along with hundreds of pictures of patrons, and maybe a celebrity or two. Parking is very tight here –our subcompact Chevy Sonic hatchback can barely fit in the 8′ wide compact spots, and there is always a joker with an expensive BMW or Corvette parked over two spots –not that they don’t want any dings on his(rented) vehicle, but that there just isn’t enough rooms to fit all four wheels into the compact spots closest to the street. More room way in the back, with the locals in their big pickups. But I would back in, as turning around to exit is so difficult that it should be on the Hawaii state driving test! Our first night in Kihei, we walk 10 minutes from our condo on Maui Kamaole, forgetting about trying to park the car. We share a steak frajita dish, complete with raw purple onions, grilled yellow onions, green peppers, tomatoes, and cabbage(a local flavor), complete with flour tortillas, Mexican rice and refried beans. Mother of all portions, but not spicy enough for our tastes. Why come here, when we can eat downstairs at the Mexican restaurant? We always come here, not only because of the wide screen TVs showing the game, but because I love the half price Parrot Bay Lava Flow coconut rum colada strawberry purée drink, half priced between 4pm and 7pm. This is the only drink that I consume anywhere, it’s that good –tastes like a strawberry daiquiri, but with more alcohol. We come back on a Thursday night, with the wife having the $ 15 Thursday night special of coconut shrimp fest — a good portion of breaded shrimp, with fries and cole slaw. I get the Kalua Pig plate –big portion of shredded pork, with chopped cabbage, grilled onions in a bed of lettuce, with a huge batch of cole slaw on the side. Enough that there are leftovers to take back to the condo to heat up in the microwave. As the sun sets, we watch cars trying to make a left turn onto South Kihei road, with an endless stream of cars coming into the town on the two lane road. Not too many people giving the Aloha spirit –tourists! Meanwhile other hapless drivers try not to play bumper car in the narrow, congested parking lot. Fortunately we can walk to this place. Another adventure day in paradise!

If a place can’t get fries right something is wrong. Four of us went here since we were craving pub grub. We ordered the pupu sampler. The onion rings were good, the buffalo wings were good but the potato skins were under cooked. Also, what this place calls potato skins are really just loaded potato wedges. The nachos were ok but better once you added the salsa and sour cream. The pupu sampler was filling even with four people sharing it. Since I filled myself up on that I just ordered the sliders off the appetizer menu. These were not good at all. The reason I ordered the sliders was because the description said flattened burger. I was imagining that the burger would be about the thickness of say Mcdonald’s or white castle. Wrong… they were about the thickness of a regular size burger. If a menu describes a slider as flattened it should come that way. It was pretty much a tiny hockey puck in the center of a slider bun that was too large. I wouldn’t have minded so much if the meat tasted good but the after taste was funky and the meat was dry. I don’t think anything could of saved these poor excuses for a slider. My sweets had a burger and said it was ok. I tried his fries and they were mediocre at best. I left this place with an upset tummy that I wasn’t sure if it was from the overly sweet lava flow or the beef that tasted strange. Next time I am craving pub grub I know to head to Ale House. Way better quality and better prices.

Went in for St. pats day while on vacation in Hawaii. This is a nice place with decent prices and a friendly staff. If your looking for a great place to enjoy a beer and some food with sand on your shoes give it a try. All of the other Irish bars had a packed house of drunk partiers. My wife and I felt very comfortable here

No where else in Kihei can you get the view up high with the breeze blowing in :) Get a table near the windows it is FANTASTIC !

This place has the best calamari fingers and pork quesadillas on the island! Not salty and great prices! Beer is always fresh, and they always gave the latest sports on, they’ll also put on what you want.

Pass on by… This is the only meal on Maui that I would have passed on. The food was mediocre at best. Normal pub food but the best thing about this place is the view. Maybe it would be good for cocktails and the view — skip the food.

Moose’s gets a solid 3. It’s definitely not bad, it’s not mind blowingly amazing, but it’s good. The location is great; there is a good, unobstructed view of the ocean, and it provides an excellent place to watch the sunset. The room where we were seated wasn’t too loud which was nice to have a conversation. The food is good, and our came out very quickly. The server was attentive to refilling water.

Decided to stop by for lunch. Got the mai tai, Hawaiian egg roll and the pork plate. It was a tasty local treat. The view was awesome and the waitress was great with her recommendations. I would recommend trying the spot out for some local good eats.
