Fun atmosphere. Good service. But… We stopped in late one Friday afternoon. Despite their name, they were out of wings. My son ordered something with shredded chicken, and they were out of that too. However, we ended up finding things they did have and had a nice meal. A couple weeks later, we went back with out-of-town family. Yup, you guessed it, they were out of wings again. But this time they were also out of Shock Top(their only premium draft beer), fried shrimp, celery and at least one other thing. I really thought it was some kind if joke. The poor waitress kept coming back to the table to say they were out of something. Bad news.

RECOMMENDEDFORTHEIRFOOD — Stopped in here after golfing to get a bite to eat. I had been here years ago en route to football games, and this was the first time I had been since. We ordered a couple of orders of fries and some entrees. ATMOSPHERE: A great idea overall– this spot is located in a former Exxon gas station garage. It has outdoor seating, indoor is a collection of license plates, has a long bar, and the seating is a little crammed. It seems like the layout could be a little better to open up opportunities for more seating. Also it was very HOT inside– maybe invest in some AC or some fans. Cleanliness also came into question as well– I wouldn’t say it’s dirty but it’s sort of dungy inside. FOOD: We ordered old bay fries and impersonally got boneless wings(sweet-Tijuana). The fries were GREAT. They came with ranch/bleu cheese. Very good. The boneless wings were OUTSTANDING! I recommend the sweet Tijuana. Wow they were good! SERVICE: Woman was nice but got a little sidetracked for some reason, even though we were the only table-like two guys drinking at the bar. We had to ask for refills multiple times. No big deal overall. CONCLUSION: I HIGHLYRECOMMEND this place for its food, but the inside dining area leaves a little to be desired– gets hot and could be extremely crowded. I will go back, and in terms of food it’s a 4/5, but the inside took away with a lack of air circulation and a dungy feel.

Stopped here for dinner after visiting the Potomac Highlands winery and it was yummy. I got the Santa Fe chimichanga and my husband got the enchiladas based on a review. Although he liked them, I was the winner as the chimichanga was delicious. Small restaurant but great atmosphere with delicious food.

If you just barely venture into West Virginia, you’ll find Stray Cat and be glad you did. Situated in an abandoned garage and decorated with weird things including license plates and dead animals, this is the kind of place I suspect would be hip if I took it back to Florida. As it is, it’s in West Virginia. Stray Cat has wings in the name, but I haven’t tried them. What I have tried is their $ 8 Chicken Enchiladas, served with rice and absolutely perfect. I’ve also had their Cat Fries, which is a pile of fries covered in everything. I’ve observed my friend eating the $ 7 Chicken Burrito. It’s the size of a small bomb and it usually delivers that effect. You can walk out of Stray Cat feeling uncomfortably full with little damage to your wallet.
