Great place to get fish. The fish is always fresh and they have a great selection. If they don’t have what you want they would offer to order it. The guy behind the counter is so helpful.

Best fresh seafood market in the neighborhood! I do my normal grocery/produce shopping at Trader Joe’s but for wild caught seafood(keyword: WILD not farmed), this is as good as it gets in the area. They also have a limited selection of sushi but it is also very fresh and reasonably priced. It’s a small shop but very diverse selection of seafood — clams, mussels, various fish, squid, shrimp, etc. I haven’t shopped here enough to notice but I’m sure its fish selection changes.

Out of all of the sushi joints in Kew, I always found myself coming here. The selection is definitely limited but they are good at what they do. The fish is fresh and the staff are so incredibly friendly. The price is right and it hits the spot.

The people who own this fish market are always very helpful and accommodating. I called ahead about 10 minutes from closing and asked if I could stop by for shrimp and they told me to come in. When I arrived, they had already cleared their shelves but were nice enough to go to the back for me. I inquired about their squid and they told me to call a day in advance and they would bring in fresh squid. It’s a big plus that they are open later than many other fish markets.

I just bought 2 Branzini’s for dinner. The employee working was very friendly and helpful. The fish was extremely fresh and delicious. I took of 1 Star because they didn’t have fresh red snapper which I wanted today but I still got a good choice. They are a great fish store. will definitely shop here again !!!

Today is the first time I ever saw live lobster at the Fish Market. And yes, I did get me some!!! So happy!

Not a big place with a huge selection, but what they do have is very fresh and reasonably priced. I love that they have sushi too. It’s a neighbor of the Thyme Natural Market & Café which carries lots of great products, including plenty of gluten free items.

Stumbled upon this while walking around– this was a a random find, and while it’s not the best I’ve had, it was definitely good quality fish, sushi rolls/sashimi as well as very friendly customer service. the sushi rolls are fairly large. It has a decent ratio of rice to the actual ingredients– I always want LESS rice, so I;m not just eating a mouthful of empty carbs– but this is a fairly good balance. PLus, they were generous with their chunks of avocado!(I go the salmon/avocado roll). I could really taste the sweet, creamy, texture. $ 3.95 for about 6 – 7 rolls(don’t quote me; I ate so fast, I didn’t count them!) The salmon sashimi was draped over rice, which I’m used to in buffet establishments, but know that other sushi places just give you a chunk of fish. Either way, I enjoyed it. If I was in the area, would definitely meander here to get some takeout!

I stopped in here on a whim after working up an appetite walking through Forest Park. The guy behind the counter was super friendly. I got some pre-made salmon sashimi and sushi rolls, and some shrimp shumai. I would skip the shumai, they didn’t taste too fresh or flavorful. But everything was else was good. I prefer my sashimi sans rice(I don’t like anything standing between me and my salmon), but every place is different and it was still good quality fish. They also sell bags of mussels for $ 2.99 daily! Which is the sale price at Stop & Shop, so it’s nice to know I don’t have to always wait for them to go on sale anymore.

Pretty good fish market in the neighborhood. I’m really glad I found this place. The prices are reasonable and the store people are very nice. They get deliveries daily but do look out for what looks the freshest before purchasing.

As the name says, it is a fish market, but the paucity of choices for lunch in the area has made the sushi and sashimi offerings of this place worth considering. I’d say, the sashimi should be a better choice as I found sushi rolls seem to have been a clever way to disguise that the fish had not been swimming for some time. What I appreciate in this store is that is really clean which for Japanese, does not seem to be «next to godliness» but is «godliness itself». Thus, there is no fishy smell and the rows of fresh fish are neatly arranged. If not for the fact that I have to trek all the way home to Astoria, I’d buy the fresh fish here.

I live right around the corner of Kew Gardens Fish Market. I must say, The sushi here is very good! I order the spicy tuna all the time! Everything is placed in a little refrigerator and everything is kept fresh! The owner provides great service! If they ran out of an item, he will make it for you on the spot! Misu soup is good along with all the other sushi & sashimi! The price is very affordable! You can get a roll for $ 3.75. There are tables where you can sit down to eat if you don’t want to take it To-Go! Please remember, this is a fish market. But they keep the place very clean and tidy. The Sushi & Sashimi is usually to go, but if you like to sit down and eat, you can do so!
