Every year, we do a race in Kerrville and this was where we decided to calorie-up for lunch. The GPS sent us up a mountain to get there… and then back down. Oh well. Once we got there it was right on the water and we really appreciated the nice setting. Fresh rolls and water came quickly after being seated, and we both ordered the most popular chicken dish with potatoes and salad. The salads and the rolls were tasty, and the chicken was heavenly, with swiss cheese and grilled onions. Tip: check in on Unilocal and you get free chips and salsa. I expected it to be bland — pace picante type salsa but it tasted fresh made and had a nice spice to it! I ate a little more than expected(racing the next day, I usually stay away from spicy food but it was so good I made an exception). Definitely a place I would return for a pre-race meal!

Yes, this is misnamed. However I have never had a bad meal here. Pleasant atmosphere and great iced tea after a hot day. My daughter and I usually share something and like to visit mainly after church. Desserts are not bad either. :))

This was not«bad food». However, I would not call it good either. Everything was bland, which is a good thing for some. Most of the crowd there was elderly that night, so I am guessing that is the reason for the lack of seasoning. It was just«alright». I wouldn’t return to eat there again, but I wouldn’t deter someone else from going. We had varied meals… daughter’s steak was overdone, the key lime pie was not sweet, just bitter/bland. My chicken fried steak had no seasoning, and neither did the gravy. The mashed potatoes were real, but tasted like potatoes mixed with a little milk. No flavor. The view was spectacular, and waitress was friendly.

Texas home cookin’ served up right — good prices, Texas-sized portions, friendly waitstaff. Restaurant overlooks the Guadalupe River. Open for lunch and dinner.
