C&H cafeteria is what you’re used to when visiting the more famous K&W. Supposedly a former employee of K&W that has spun off the idea into what I feel like is a much better version! The food is nowhere near as salty or greasy here, and the quality overall is consistently tasty! Cafeteria style where you go through a line, seeing what you’re ordering, and carrying the end result to your table on a tray. Granted I will agree that these places aren’t as cheap as they once were, but by the time you get your meat, veggies, bread, and drink you’re probably going to be in the $ 7-$ 8 range per person. Their entrée options each night are usually always good, and their veggies are consistently flavorful! They do a breakfast on the weekends only, and it is equally good and they have specials to boot! Don’t let the three stars fool you, as it’s hard to give this type of dining anything higher! Solid 3!

I love c&h so much. It’s so much better than k&w seriously. C&H is the best place to go when looking for a home cooked meal. They have the best mashed potatoes!!!

It’s a cafeteria similar to K&W, so the food is good and my wife and I can eat for less than $ 20. You can see the food, so it’s pretty much what do you want? Filling and cheap– so most everything I have had was well worth the price.

C and H cafeteria is similar to a K and W, except better! I really like to come here since it reminds me of younger years pushing a tray at the school lunch line, or any of one of several other cafeteria’s from the past. I have ate here many times. I keep coming back because their food is consistently good, and what I expect it to be. The prices are great. The chicken pie is one of my favorites, along with country style steak, or chicken livers. You cant go wrong with any of these! Sides are equally as good, with squash casserole, cream corn, and cooked cabbage being my go to. The rolls are always fresh and melt in your mouth. Dont forget dessert, their chocolate pie is in fact the bomb. Peanut butter pie coming in at a close second, there is always something interesting and seasonal in their lineup. I have always got good service here, the place is clean, and I enjoy coming in. One of the best places in K-Vegas!

I really love diners and cafeterias– this one is a little on the bland side with their food but it’s about what you would expect from a small town cafeteria.

Always good home style cooking at the C&H! Sunday, after church, the line can get long, but during the week it’s a perfect alternative to fast food. Staff are ok, but your really not paying to be pampered. They do Friday Night Seafood, have a child’s plate, and many other specials! Try the peanut butter whipped pie! Yum!

The really neat thing about a cafeteria is you pretty much know what the layout’s gonna be wherever the location, and you pretty much know the majority of food items that will be there and that there will be plenty to choose from, and you pretty much know it will be relatively inexpensive. None of these are bad things, in my opinion, yet cafeteria dining doesn’t seem to generate much excitement in the foodie world — maybe we get jaded, caught up in the dish of the day, the new restaurant of the month, or the cuisine of the year. I’ve always enjoyed pushing a tray down a long line of good looking food choices, fighting a little with myself over what my choices should be — sometimes that seems a little more stimulaing than staring at a dry, written menu, or hearing a recital of today’s dishes with a listing of ingridents I’ll forget in a second ot two. Anyway, this place is a little gem within the cafeteria world in this area. The usual setup with one serving line. I thought they had a slighty larger variety of items than K & W, or H & F, in almost every area — salads, entrees, veggies, breads, and desserts. And just like those places, this cafeteria is clean, bright, and very well lit. The Chicken Livers I chose were as good as any I’ve tried, the serving was very well sized, and a steal at $ 3.49 — throw in Rice & Gravy, very nice Roasted Potatoes, and Green Bean Casserole(a little different than most with crumbled bacon, on FF onions), and the total for my meal was $ 7.66, not bad at all. My wife had the Lunch Special which was CS Steak(outstanding flavor here) with rice & gravy AND Mac & Cheese(a great version) for $ 5.99, and a nice slab of Egg Custard Pie for $ 1.29. This is a great little cafeteria, rivaling any in the Triad — this was our first trip, but like I say — we’ll be back.

If your looking for a decent cafeteria style meal this place is hitting on all cylinders… The food is great and it is a cafeteria so that’s about all that can be said but I do enjoy eating here.

For those of you who live in the Triad area, this is very similar to K&W cafeteria. I’ve been to C&H several times, and the food is always good. Hamburger steak(with mushrooms and onions), mashed potatoes and garlic bread was good on my last visit. Solid place to get meat and veggies in K-Ville.
