The Yardley Institute

I went to this chiropractor when they were still located in Renton near the airport. I was diagnosed with a minor case of scoliosis when I was a child and I would periodically have issues with my head getting stuck to the side of center and unable to move from childhood up to just before I went to this chiropractor. My shoulders were not level and my waist was slightly twisted backward on the right side. I visited them probably about 2006. I went to the recommended sessions each week as much as I could afford it and they performed their exams and adjustments each time. After about 6 months my spine had straightened out considerably– leveling my shoulders, and my hips had mostly realigned properly and I no longer had symptoms or problems. I may not have completed the full treatment plan, but even with only that I have never had another problem with a stuck head or back pain related to those conditions. No other chiropractor could say the same with me and usually left me with pain to deal with that always came back anyway.
I definitely recommend this office if you have recurring back pain and other chiropractors don’t seem to help. The fact that such a minor adjustment could do all that seems like charlatanism, but it truly isn’t. Much like how the Tempur-​pedic bed is often considered to be uncomfortable and stinky at first, you have to give it a chance to work or you will never realize the benefit. Trust me– you do not want a fast change based on this chiropractor’s methods! You would probably end up with a broken neck. But done his way, gently and minutely, you have immeasurable gains and benefits.
The only thing I don’t like is the pressure exerted to get you on a maintenance plan for periodic visits. I don’t really think that is necessary to the extent they recommend. I could only afford so much during that time frame and my insurance didn’t cover their services at all. That is one major drawback for them and their patients. Since it has been so long things may have changed.

Dr. Yardley helped me after I was in a car accident. I feel his treatment is the best, no slamming people against walls! His method of adjustments and care gives care to you back, spine, and joints. As a nurse, I find these things are important and his methods are amazing. He helped me get realigned and back to normal. I’m very grateful.

Ok first he will say he cannt find my records but that’s because he gave them all back to me after I left the initial consult.
I am sure the care at his office it great the problem I have is that Dr yardley uses manipulative language to make you feel guilty if you can’t a Ford the cost of care, things like «so you put a price on your health?» .Yes I do I have to be able to a Ford it! If I had known you didn’t take insurance I wouldn’t have waisted my time or yours…
I am sure that you really think that you are the only one in the world who does what you do but there are others who practice the same style of chiropractic. .and they take insurance and even though you (dr yardley) say my insurance doesn’t cover it, mine does! My wife and I both have some of the best insurance in the state. last year going to a regular chiropractor my insurance covered the whole year with a small co pay only. didn’t even touch my co insurance with my wife’s company
Yes I need an upper cervical guy, no it won’t be you, the feeling in your office was one of don’t tell the patiant to much before we get him in the little room or he will leave.
I almost thought you were going to start telling me about AMWAY and start drawing circles on the chalk board.
Lastly I didn’t allow you to pitch me on all your payment options because I don’t have debt and I don’t do credit. Did I have the money to just pay cash for all this? Yes I do! I work for a large freight delivery company and my wife works for an airplane manufacturer so we do make a good living.
I just want people to know that if you have ever bought a used car this is what the consult is like when you first get there…
remember if you have a bad feeling being there, someone up stairs is trying to tell you something… RUN AWAY FAST!

I have been a patient for many years. I can’t imagine what I would do without this amazing wellness care in my life! It is definitely not for everyone — results, overview and expectations are discussed in great detail up front to help set expectations. Dr. Yardley is super direct and honest which I appreciate. Worth every moment to check him out and see if you are a fit. I am saved from endless headaches, lack of energy, carpal tunnel type pain among other things under his care. My daughter had pretty bad eczema which over time with care has cleared up almost entirely. I’ve had unexplainable back pain clear right up as well. There is a quote somewhere along the lines of «if everyone likes you you are not doing something right» which I believe is true in most all things in life! Thanks Dr. Yardley. I was fortunate enough to be recommended to the Yardley Institute by a relative of mine who is a patient, and who heard that people with my specific issues had experienced improvements with their health problems after being treated.
The first impression I got of the place was that everyone was so incredibly friendly and accommodating. It set me at ease, because so often in any medical practice I’ve been to (and I’ve been to so, so many), I arrive and ten minutes in, I already feel like I’m a number, like I’ve been categorized and won’t be listened to.
That was absolutely not the case here. From my first visit, everything was made incredibly clear to me. Dr. Yardley himself sat down with me and discussed everything. He listened attentively to my specific issues, and asked a lot of questions– I got the feeling that he was taking everything I said into account.
It’s worth it to note a few things before I go any further. Dr. Yardley did not rush to take me on as a patient. He did not make empty promises that everything would work out great. From the word go, he told me– we need to do some tests to see if you’re a candidate. If you are, then I genuinely believe that working with you could improve your life. I’m not sure by how much, or in what ways, but I believe that we can help you.
I had the tests done, and the xrays (the staff was gentle, very polite, patient and personable). My next appointment, he sat down with me and showed me the results and images, explaining to me what I was looking at. He then worked with me to set up a plan that would make the most of the limited time I’d be in the area.
At no point during my time at Yardley Institute was I left in the dark about anything. At no point did they surprise me with a fee or cost that I hadn’t agreed to. They were incredibly clear and upfront: No, they do not accept insurance. Yes, it will cost X amount per adjustment. Yes, it will cost X amount if you need an X-​ray. The first time you come in for an actual adjustment will cost you in a range of X to X.
At every step they went out of their way to make sure I had no questions, that I understood everything that was being done and what I could possibly expect– both good and bad. Dr. Yardley cautioned me that at certain specific days after my first adjustment, it was possible that I could wake up feeling worse for the day, but that it would pass if it happened.
The bottom line is this: For me, the Yardley Institute was a worthwhile experience. It didn’t guarantee results, there was no gimmick, but I went into it thinking that it was worth the fees (which I personally found reasonable) and worth trying. Not everyone may agree with their approach or philosophy, but that doesn’t mean they’re not amazing at what they do.
I was only in the area for a few weeks, and I wish I’d been able to stay longer. I could already feel changes, improvements in various aspects of my health, and I genuinely believe that the individuals at the Yardley Institute made those changes possible.

IT WORKS. I am so happy with my results. I have had chronic pain for over 12 years. I had pretty much accepted that I would always have pain. Then I heard about Dr. Yardley and thought I would give it one more try. I had 3 appts before my first adjustment. It seemed like alot, however you have many visits with a specialist before they work on you, in the regular medical field. They are just very through, which is good. With in about 6 weeks of my first adjustment I realized I have more energy also seeing alot of improvement in my TMl, and I sleep so much better. I highly recommend them to anyone that wants to feel better and have your body work better.

Just so you know… for some reason, they feel the need to have you pay $ 180 if you’re referred, $ 360 if you’re not just to do tests on you, no treatment, and do three whoie visits, with no treatment. This gets spaced out, according to availability over 2 — 3 weeks or more. You won’t be getting help, mostly they are trying to sell you on the validity of their modality.
Even though I think there may be some truth to how NUCCA may help people, I don’t think this is a good practice. I wish I hadn’t been duped into this. I was sent here by someone, but now I’m reading sites of other NUCCA chiropractors MUCH closer to my home, and they will see you once for imaging/​testing and start on you THAT day, or the next, tops, and not charge you an arm and a leg for not even being treated. This feels used-​car salesman-​like from the get-​go. I wish I had listened to my instincts from the start and not paid them.
And yeah, they told me insurance wouldn’t even pay for their treatment, This is NOT true, even though they won’t bill, but my insurance WILL pay for chiropractic adjustments, and they don’t care if it’s NUCCA or not. But they probably won’t pay for the three sessions of hard-​sell.

I started going to Dr Yardley after trying numerous chiropractors for relief of tinnitus. It even got so bad I temporarily lost my hearing during a bad cold. I was so sensitive to loud noise, my hearing was super sensitive and I found myself wearing earplugs most of the time. It was horrible… but now I am seeing a steady improvement and I would say I am about 80 percent improved. I have been going about 6 months now. I didn’t think his prices were that outrageous, as some here say. You get what you pay for. The office staff is the best, I never feel like a number. I could not recommend Dr. Yardly and his staff enough!

Amazing Place! Dr. Yardley saved me from surgery — no kidding. I herniated a disc in my low back in April of 2009 and had to miss work for four months with the most debilitating pain I have ever experienced in my life. It turned out I had a 15 mm disc herniation (MRI) at the bottom of my spine putting pressure on the nerve root. I tried decompression therapy with one of those expensive traction machines. I tried physical therapy with stretching and strengthening. After all of that I was still looking at spine surgery — which according to the research I did has a low success rate. A friend of mine told me to go see Dr. Yardley and it was the best advice I have ever gotten. I am running again, biking, even hiking extensively. It definitely took time to get there am I did at times need encouragement from Dr. Yardley. Try it out — especially if you have tried everything under the sun and are discouraged.

I have been a patient of Dr. Yardleys for about 2 years. I am 75% improved as to when I started with him. The majority of my numbness, low back pain, TMJ etc. rarely bothers me now. It has cost a fortune and in the middle i seriously questioned the investment of time and money but i can honestly say after 7 different Chiropractors over the last 15 years I have gotten the most relief here and that is really something.

They advertise how «gentle» their adjustments are and how their clients don’t even feel them. Well, the adjustments are «gentle» but the after-​effects are not. They say absolutely no other body work while they work on you, so no massage, no rolfing, no nothing. I was in excruciating and debilitating pain AFTER they adjusted me, which they said was normal– a natural progression of the healing process. That is all good, but guess what? I got this thing called life and work, and both of those require me to be able to move, and preferrably without crying from pain. I gave up after a few months. Maybe they’re good if you’re brave enough with high enough pain tolerance to stick around, but not me.
Another thing– they charged me the same price every visit even when they didn’t adjust me. The doctor rolling the little probe thing down my neck (they only work on the neck– «cervical specialists») was worth $ 50. They made me come in 4 times a week in the beginning, and in some weeks, 3 out of those 4 visits would be just the roller down my neck.
They’re also obsessed with X-​rays, and charge a fortune for them, too. I don’t know how «precise» they’re trying to be, but other chiropractors who have not been so «precise» have given me much better results for much less money.
Not worth the pain and money.
