I would recommend this place to anyone in Kent looking to get their hair done– by far. If you’re looking for color, Skye is amazing. I’ve had my hair done at SO many places and I’ve never loved my hair as much as when Skye did it. The only drawback is that it was expensive so it’s not really maintainable for a college student. Im sure the designers do a great job, too, though, for a lower price.

FINALLY!!! A stylist that knows how to cut curly hair! I scheduled a Deva cut with Skye, she did an amazing job, took the time to tell me what she was doing and how to get the results myself. Highly recommend this salon, front desk staff was helpful and friendly as well. I have been to a LOT of salons that claim to know how to cut curly hair, finally found one!

Seriously the best service ever! Today I had David and he is fan-​freaking-​tastic! He colored cut and styled my hair exactly how I wanted it from beginning to end! He gave me amazing tips and we had a genuine connection! Rush always delivers! I will keep coming back and never go anywhere else! I love this salon and everyone in it! Literally worth every penny and then some!!! Thank you so much David! I will look beautiful on my wedding day because you gave my hair everything it needed and gave me great advice and positivity to move forward with!!!

I love going to Rush! Kelsey is my go-​to stylist, even after moving to Chicago, Kelsey is the only person I trust with my hair and she is totally worth wait and the trip back to Ohio! The prices at Rush a great, you get an incredible value for what you pay. Great atmosphere and everyone is really friendly too. Would absolutely recommend to my friends and family!

I had a great experience at this salon! It is very clean and modern. Front desk staff was prompt and friendly! Skye Saxon did a great job with my hair!!! Skye is very knowledgeable about products, trends and styles. She listened to me patiently and gave me the perfect hair cut! I would recommend Skye and this salon to anyone!

This is the only salon in Kent I’ll step foot in now! Jackie is my stylist and I’ll never stray! The whole staff is so friendly and down to earth. No snob noses here. I love that you’re offered a drink when you step inside and that they carry locally made beauty products. Jackie fixed the AWFUL highlights I had from the «other» salon in Kent for half the price and with a lot more work to be done! I’ve gone from long mermaid hair to a bob, to ombré, and everywhere in between at Rush. I’ve never felt nervous in Jackie’s hands! Best salon in the area, hands down.

I was in yesterday for a haircut with Vince. I asked for a long pixie cut and instead received the incredibly short bob (earlobe length) that he «just instinctively» cut for me. I look like a 6 year old girl and I am incredibly unhappy with this cut. I would definitely not recommend Vince if you have a specific cut in mind, because apparently he follows his instincts rather than his customers’ wishes.

Fabulous experience. I am an alumna of Kent State and was visiting this past weekend from New York City. I was in desperate need of a cut and decided to give Rush a try after seeing that they were a Kevin Murphy Salon. Was beyond impressed with the service and quality of this place! The prices were very affordable, a Master stylist for only $ 48 dollars! (My Junior Stylist in new york costs 60!) I had the pleasure of having David as my stylist and he really took his time getting to know me and my concerns for my hair. He walked me through the styling process and gave me notes on products I should try in the future. While I understand their price point is a little high for an Ohio salon, it is worth every penny!
Not to mention, the atmosphere is very relaxing and trendy. The stylists had great attitudes and just made for a wonderful overall experience. Thank you Rush!

Courtney did an awesome job on my hair! She was very personable and friendly as everyone that worked there seem to be. They use great products and really take their time to make sure their job is done right. I have what I consider to be difficult hair and usually stylist just blow dry it as quickly as possible and it is a tangled frizzy mess at the end. Courtney took the time to use product and diffuser and did a great job! My color and cut looks awesome and it is exactly what I was hoping for! My only note is for people that are not familiar with the area (I wasn’t) the parking is pretty crazy up there. Especially on a Saturday early afternoon which is when my appointment was. I had about a 7 – 8 minute walk from my car to the salon. There is only on street parking, so you may want to allot more time for that. Great experience and I am sure I will be back :)

Absolutely love Rush! I’ve had so many bad experiences at different salons, but not here. The first time I went there, it was an amazing experience. David is fabulous. He’s the first stylist I’ve ever been to who took the time to really talk to me and LISTEN to what I wanted. I left feeling happy about my hair for the first time in a long time. My 2^nd visit was just as fantastic. I look forward to going back in to see David again in a few weeks.
