Terrible service. It took over an hour to get our food. It’s like they only had one person cooking during lunch. It shouldn’t take that long to make this type of food and this place certainly isn’t worth that type of wait. I’ve had poor service before, but this was the first time I didn’t tip. It was that bad!

We have been in this place several times and every time we eat here, foods are great and price is very reasonable. The service is kinda chaotic though because the place is too small and they have to squeeze in between tables and chairs to serve the food. Waiting is 15 to 20min. during busy hours. Parking is hard on weekends, as this place is inside the mall with all other asian restaurant and big asian grocery store, Ranch.

Jang Soo Tofu’s always pack every time we come to have a Korean fix. From the appetizer to the main dish, an A+! My only complain was the wait and service, unbelievable! Seated for over 15 minutes, no one came to give us the menu. Until My daughter who love this place so much had to ask politely if we can have the menu. I don’t know if this is a family owned business and very stingy about paying extra workers but the need for extra employee will help the business a lot. My heart goes to those two lady workers who looks very tired. Kudos to the younger looking lady with a constant smile on her face even in a stressful environment. While the other older lady didn’t even bother to greet nor smile at customers, seems unhappy! Even if I have to say a negative feedback in my review, we will definitely come back to this restaurant mainly because of the authentic Korean food.

Overall, I’m giving Jang So Tofu Restaurant a(3) star rating. I was really looking forward to catching up with friends over Korean food, but I was a little disappointed when my bibimbap dreams fell flat. Don’t get me wrong, there might be good dishes here but their bibimbap was pretty bland. Plus, the rice on the bottom wasn’t crunchy enough and the ground meat in the dish was non-existent to the point that I thought I ordered the vegetarian version. Nothing against vegetarian versions, but I wanted some meat up in that bibimbap! On a side note though, the bibimbap was pretty impressive when it came out(all hot and sizzling) and the Korean TV game show playing in the background was very entertaining. If I’m in a bind and don’t have time to go to Federal Way or Shoreline, I might come back to Jang So Tofu again. However, I would probably drive the extra 20 minutes to Federal Way to get food.

The food here was good. However I took off 1 star because they’re too slow. I know it’s probably because they’re understaffed, but even watching them move, you can see they move very slowly. The busboy wasn’t in any rush to bus the tables. All the tables either had patrons or full of dirty dishes. It was about 50⁄50 ratio. The food was pretty good. We got the combo with tofu soup and bulgogi. Both were good. I just wish they offered more sides. Most korean places I’ve been to give you plenty of side dishes. This place gave us like 4, was a little disappointed. Took off another star because it seemed kind of dirty. Probably wasn’t a very good idea to line the restaurant in carpet, cause there was food everywhere and it wasn’t being cleaned. The restaurant was also only half full because the other half were dirty and needed to be bussed. We waited for 45 minutes for a party of 2. Kind of disorganized. There was one server that was actually really nice. Even though they were busy, she always sounded fun and happy. I would hear her say«Ta Dah!» as she placed the food on the table, it was kind of cute. haha. Overall: If you want to enjoy korean food, this place is great. But I hope you have great patience cause they move really slow.

Sunday brunch. We had a 15 minute was worth it. Despite that they were short staffed. Still good service from our waitress who was multi tasking very well. The food is delicious. Let’s hope they get extra help.

Stopped in for lunch, mainly due to all the Unilocal reviews, and we weren’t disappointed. I ordered the C-Combo: tofu soup, BBQ pork. I ordered the Seafood Tofu soup & had the«spicy»(4 peppers). Wow! Way to spicy hot. Thank goodness tor the banshan side dishes to help cool the palate. The BBQ pork was spicy(hot spicy) too. The fried fish was cooked extra crispy, so you can debone it then eat it, head to tail. Yum-Oh! The Kim Chee cucumbers were spiced just right & so, so crunchy. Kim Chee is made in-house & tastes deelish. I live how Koreans make their potato salad. It’s either apples or pears they use to sweeten the mix. Pickled bean sprouts were crunchy & fresh, and the Kim Chee octopus was done up just right. In the area? You gotta try this place. You won’t he disappointed, and besides, you don’t have to drive all the way to Federal Way to enjoy Korean food.

The lady there is so cute and nice! The bim bap is tasty! But next time I must have their tofu soup! Mmm! Not much of a variety here but comes with a bunch of sides, love their sweet potatoes!

There usually is a little bit of wait here because they are always crowded but just go on in, tell them how many people are in your party, and then hang out outside until your called! Just don’t be tempted to ruin your appetite on bubble tea after looking at Bambu from across the hall. I and my boyfriend usually order the haemul pajun(seafood pancake), bulgogi(marinated beef), and soondubu(tofu soup). This of course comes with banchan(side dishes) such as regular kimchi, cucumber kimchi, mashed potatoes, fried fish, and maybe one or two other items. You also get served boricha(hot barley tea) and you’ll have to ask for iced water. The food is made when ordered so it’s not usually a quick delivery, especially when it’s crowded. So beware of getting hangry! Payment: At the counter or wait till the bill comes to you. Credit cards accepted. Parking: Great Wall parking lot is usually pretty crowded so take a drive around the back if you can’t find anything up front

Was craving the soft tofu soup, but didn’t want to make the drive to Federal Way in the traffic to the spot I usually go to so I tried this place out. I always shop at Great Wall and have always passed by this restaurant, but never got the chance to try it. So I ordered two spicy seafood tofu soup to-go and it comes with 4 sides(the potato salad, blanched bean sprouts, cucumber kimchi, and cabbage kimchi). All were good. The soup on the other hand was not too great. I did spicy and the spiciest they have is super spicy. I should have gotten that because it was not spicy at all. At least not to me. The soup was an orange color compared to other tofu soups I’ve had which has a nice red color to it. As for the soup, it was plain, very bland. I had to adjust it with salt and a little bit of fish sauce. I didn’t want to ruin it, but it made it a little bit better. Seafood, you get a few clams and a few shrimps. Lots of tofu of course which is my favorite part, but I wish they gave more seafood. BTW, I am a little confused. From the photos I saw on here from other fellow Unilocalers, I see that the price for the soup is $ 8.99. When I got there, I was charged $ 9.99 for each tofu soup. I didn’t see anywhere that it says they charge extra for take out. I didn’t bother looking at the menu because I had ordered through the phone prior to arriving. Unless the menu changed, then I think I got overcharged or what not. Well, I must say I’ve had better tofu soup, but I woudn’t order it again if trying out the place again. The bbq/entrees look good so I will have to try that the next time I decide I want to try this restaurant again. I think I’ll make the effort to go to Federal Way for my soup.

Only good Korean place around Kent if you don’t want to drive to Federal Way or Bellevue. We went here after church and it was really busy. The environment was chaotic and hectic because there were only 2 waitress’s. If the service was better I would give them a better rating. The food was decent and prices are fair. We had the spicy bbq pork, scallion pancake, and tofu soup. Everything came with condiments that were refillable. I’ve had better.

Love the food here. Their tofu soup aka soon doo boo(the Korean name) is very flavorful and the tofu is soft and delicious. I usually get either the seafood or beef soon doo boo. The spice level is up to 4. I usually get 3 and I usually like my food mildly spicy. Beware the soup and tofu is extremely hot in temperature. Even after letting it sit for 10 minutes it can burn your mouth. Koreans love their food scalding hot for some reason and I did not inherit that tolerance so if you have kids eating this make sure you stir it around for a while. I usually get the combo soon doo boo with some meat choice: either the kalbi or spicy pork. It goes great with all the ban chans. I love their cucumber Kim chi ban Chan, it’s refreshing with all the hot food items. 2 combos run about $ 40 – 45 after tax.

I think i’ve had a bit better Korean tofu hot pot at other places, but this place isn’t to shabby. Overall I like this place because it is cute and the waitresses are super nice. The combo meal seems to be a decent value. You do walk away feeling relatively full for the time being. Side dishes are nice and help fill up your tummy. The restaurant is clean and service is relatively fast. Back to the super nice waitress, she is so happy it makes you happy.

I came here busiest time. But service ladies are so busy even cannot give me a extra tea. But they’re hard worker and nice ladies. They should hire more helper. I always eat here spicy tofu soup include 6 small dishes with fish & rice. I like rice in the hot stone. Very good rice!!! I tried other food here. But I still want to eat here tofu soup!

Came here for dinner on a Thursday night. We got here just in time before the dinner rush. We overheard the servers telling people that they would have to wait 30 mins! I had the dumpling tofu soup and my bf chose the ramen stew. My tofu soup came with three large dumplings and his stew consisted of ramen, hot dog, spam, bacon, rice cake, and kimchi. There was also some cheese in the broth. I enjoyed mine, although the dumplings got soggy and mushy really fast. My bf wished he had gotten tofu soup instead because his stew wasn’t hot enough and he thought the cheesy broth was a little too much. The accompanying banchan came with mackerel for each diner. Yum! I also liked the mashed potato dish. What I HATED was the service. The service was slow. It took forever for any kind of service — getting our order taken, utensils, etc. For some reason it took forever for the banchan to come out, and it shouldn’t have. We were still working on our mackerel when our dishes came, and since we were seated at a table for two, there was very little room for all of the food and side dishes. When the waitress brought out my tofu soup, she yelled at my bf, «make space for me!» What? Isn’t that YOUR job? All in all, the food was pretty good but the service is too poor for me to want to come back.

My sister and I both wanted soon tofu soup and I had been here before so we came here for lunch. There was a 20 min wait but I assumed it was because the restaurant was full and there were 5 dirty tables that needed cleaning. We both ordered mix tofu soup; beef, clams, oyster, and shrimps. I decided to add the combo to mine, which came with short ribs so we could split that. Our lunch came with rice, fried fish, and variety of ban chan. The fried fish was really good to our surprised. Nice crunch and perfectly salted. My favorite ban chan were Kim Chee and the pickled cucumber. My sister and I realized they didn’t offer fish cake so we tried to ask for more cucumber but I guess they don’t refill those? Or they ran out. I’m not sure but the table next to us ask for more and the lady said no haha. Anywho, our soup was really good. I liked everything but the clams. Mine were sandy so I ended up taking them out of my soup. Service was a bit slow(we waiting 20 min for food) but there was only two people working and they were so sweet that it didn’t really bother my sister and I. Plus we were too busy watching the Seahawks game to care anyways.

The only Korean tofu place around Renton/Kent area??? Well, I think it newly opened this year so decided to give it a try. It’s very conveniently located in the Great Wall Shopping Center along with 99 Ranch. There should always be parking in that lot. I had the Spicy Ramen Stew with spam, sausage, tofu, and rice cake! Sounds good right? I was debating if I should have tofu soup or the ramen because I always think that ramen is ramen, I can always cook it at home. But somehow ramen just sounded so good at that moment! Mehhhh…it was disappointing! There was barely any ramen in there and it was so overcooked. I think they might have only used half a pack of normal Shin ramen noodles? There were tones of soup though, but not much of anything else. The taste was just meh as well. Other people ordered the tofu and meat combos. Those were decent, not the best I’ve had. Also I don’t like that they don’t have fresh cracked eggs in their soups?! They didn’t even offer it! :O Super stingy is what I thought. One thing that I liked was their side dishes though, they were pretty legit! Also they had the fried whole fish as the side dish which is pretty rare at korean tofu places. :P

When it gets cold, this is going to be my go to place for soup! Having lived in Korea I have an affinity for good Korean food. i wasn’t feeling very good and the good here was so good I actually felt better after I left! The magic of Korean food! We got there at lunchtime and we were the first ones in the restaurant. We looked at the menu and made our choices after a little help from the waitress. We chose beef soup and Mandu soup. The soups were served in a stone pot that is placed in the oven. I really think having the stone pots adds to the experience. The soups are packed with Tofu and it is cooked to perfection. They also serve the rice in a stone pot and sprinkle a few peas on top. You will notice the rice will stick to the inside of the stone pot. If you can’t get it off with your spoon you can try adding some of your soup to it and loosening it up with your spoon after a minute or two. The Banchan(side dishes) were good. I especially like the cucumber Banchan. I think they’ll led it up a few times. The fish was also a nice touch! Great service, great food, a large amount of food and a reasonable price.

This place has easily become one of my favorite places to get Korean food!!! The tofu soup is delicious and has a more creamy texture, making it more flavorful compared to other Korean restaurants. Whenever I go here, I order the combo option(choice of tofu soup and choice of another entrée) for $ 20 to share. It’s just enough, especially with the extra and free little appetizer like dishes. Don’t be shy to ask for refills. The staff is super sweet! And they are good about handling crowds and long wait times. They’ve got a good system going where they text you when your table is ready, which I appreciate and don’t mind because I like to grab a drink from Bambu or grab pastries/buns from a nearby bakery. I prefer this location to the one in federal way. Bambu is across the hall, and the other one is in a dingy plaza with a creepy as hell bathroom. Recommend: Beef tofu soup Combo seafood tofu soup(you get more items but I found that all the extra items blands out the tofu soup flavor) Short ribs(THEBOMB) Ribeye(you get more meat than the short rib plate)

The first few times I’ve been here(few years ago), I wasn’t all that impressed. But over the years, I came to love it more and more! I wonder if my tastes changed or if they did something with their recipe… Anywhats, this place is great because it’s yummy and it’s so filling for what you pay for. The rice is filling, the banchan is all refillable, they give you a small tasty fish, lots and lots of tofu in the soup, and they can give you an egg if you ask for one to crack in your boiling hot soup. so much food for $ 8… Yes please! If you need more spices, you can ask for that too and they give you freshly chopped Korean hot peppers. so spice, much yum. The bibimbap is good and filling as well. I always want to get it for myself but I always default to the tofu soup… I’m a soup-person, I can’t help it! The meats here are pretty good, too, and they come out sizzling. I feel like the soup is best if you can handle the spice. The spicier it is, the more flavorful it is in all areas. Every dish comes out piping hot and it’s one of the reasons why I love it so. The service is always fairly busy so if you need help you gotta flag someone down. Other than that, it’s a solid place for hot soup, yummy banchan, hot rice(eat the cracklings that stick to the sides if you can scrape them off. Mm), yummy tea, with a warm and cozy atmosphere. Great spot to hit up.
