I had high hopes for this place but came away disappointed. Perhaps it was the time of the year but we walked the trail — climbed the middle observation tower and saw no sign of wildlife. You hike on a un-level asphalt trail that is OK walking but hard on the ankles. The middle Observation tower shows a pond a long long way away through the trees but you are not going to see any wildlife. I am not sure why they don’t allow you to go down to the lagoon at some point — to a blind perhaps. Yes — it is a natural area — but why open it to the public if they can’t see anything. NOTE — we found 5 different types of flowers still blooming this late in the year and all were intrusive species. Perhaps more native plants should be added. I did notice they are trying to eliminate the blackberries.(example Oleanders, Garden Tansy and Goldenrods. There are no signs as to what is going on — plans for the area — etc. Definitely not worth the trip to see it — at least on a beautiful fall day.
