Fred Meyer

Stopped in to pick up a potted plant for work. The gal in the garden section was very helpful. She helped me find what I was looking for without spending a lot of money. On my way to check out, I was distracted by a display of seasonal items. Good for you Freddy’s, your marketing ploy worked. I picked up a couple of cute items that I hadn’t planned on buying but was glad I did. I like shopping at Fred Meyer!

Good place to shop for grocery. Good sale price. Took me awhile to adjust to the idea of selling clothes next to grocery food. I came from the East Coast where most of that is separated. Will come back for the low price gas.

Being from California, this chain of stores do not exist. Not having a wide frame of reference, I’ve really only been to a handful of these stores while up in Washington. My favorite one so far has been the one in Auburn. It is clean, the layout is clear, they have individual checkout lines that are the bit easier to get to and allows you to relate to your cashier little bit more.
This location is clean, and large, however, the clientele can be a bit seedy and there are many of our favorite members of the vagrant lifestyle hanging out at entrances and exits. For this reason I don’t like to frequent the store too much after dark, due to reports of theft and other crimes. Otherwise, a good store.

The store is very dumpy but the employees are nice. I always see random thuggish kids hanging out in the entry ways so I try to avoid this location when possible.

I wouldn’t go here unless there was no other option. It is in a bad area of Kent. I’ve seen people get their purse snatched in the parking lot, I’ve had a lady following me crying and begging me for formula for her baby… I finally caved it and bought it for her, only for her to grab my receipt and go straight to the return line. Fred meyer staff said there is nothing they can do, and it happens all the time. This fred meyer looks and feels unclean to me. I wouldn’t recommend it.

My review is based on the photo department. I went to go pick up some pictures I had web ordered, and Oleg was the cashier there. I waited a couple minutes while he texted on his phone, and he could clearly see me, but he kept texting. When he came over they couldn’t find my order and I had to wait five more minutes for my pictures. When he had them done he handed them to me and that’s it he didn’t apologize or anything. This has happened a few times so I thought I should make a note on here about it. Their store is great. I love the selection, and the helpful employees. But I think I’ll go to Walgreens for my photos now.

Kent Fred Meyer is a awesome store

Your common, run-​of-​the-​mill Fred Meyer. Unfortunately it’s in the badish area of Kent, so you’re always going to meet/​see interesting people… A lot of the staff is just there to do their job. They don’t want to make small talk, or go out of their way to help, but will if you ask. Nothing spectacular. They have everything I need which is why I do a lot of my grocery shopping here — I love the Simple Truth Organic line that they have. All in all, it’s just a basic grocery store. Nothing amazing.

Is it the gray shelving?
Or maybe it’s the warehouse-​like bins and stacks of ready to eat products in the major aisle between produce and bagged candies?
This store appears smaller than other FMs in the area. Maybe it’s because the Men’s and Children’s Wear departments are located upstairs. It also feels like being in a warehouse store because of the utilitarian gray colored shelves the food and linen products are displayed on.
This afternoon, there were stacks of brown cartons located throughout the groceries department. New stock must have just arrived. I don’t shop as frequently here as I used to but remember many times encountering empty spots on the shelf where a product I want to buy is sold out.
There is a pharmacy, deli, meat/​seafood counter, seasonal plant nursery, a small natural foods dep00artments and jewelry counter. No Tully’s coffee counter. There are even three charging stations outside the northwest corner of the store. Each of the several questions I asked resulted in being pointed to the location of the sought after product, with no «Let me show you where» here. I have to commend Michael, the Self Check Out attendent who graciously refunded my 25 cents when I forgot to present my coupon.
Except for some of the warmer checkers, especially in self checkout, you’ll not find friendly, happy help. Be familiar with the location of your necessary items, find them, pay, and leave!

I go here every morning to pick up my favorite energy drink, to get me rolling for the day! Sue & Juli, the ladies that work in the gas station area, are absolutely amazing! They always have the biggest smiles on their faces, their friendly and always giving compliments! So nice they are! Give those ladies a raise Fred Meyer! They know how to give customer service to the max! I’ve literally been going there for 2 years straight!

I am writing an update because there have been some items addressed since I last wrote this review.
— They now have a great display of fresh basil
— Lines have been shorter/​there have been more registers open on my last few visits
— Selection has been a bit better on certain items. More options available
I still see an issue that could be addressed going forward:
— Restocking: lots of times the items I am looking for are gone and I am stuck looking at empty spots on the shelf (especially in the produce area)
Nice to see some positive changes though! :)

Friendly longtime employees are what makes this store 4 stars. Management rotates often and comes in and tries to shake things up. Yet the longtime employees stick around. Always clean and well maintained, sometimes the bathrooms lack a little to be desired. Prices are good also if on sale.

A good range of things here. Customer service has been good to me in the past. Price isn’t the cheapest. Always plenty of parking.
Nothing too amazing about this place though… which gives it 3 stars. Fred Meyer is okay and gets the job done.

Have what we need and the clothing department is two level. Freddy is definitely our one stop shop and we LOVE Fred Meyers. Every Freddy is about the same in our opinion, like I said, they have what we want/​need plus a large selection of clothing.

Gas Only…
I came here a few weeks ago to get gas and something to drink.
They have it super convenient that you can get some limited snacks and drinks while waiting for the gas to enter your car. We got a few treats and headed out. Thanks Freddy’s!

I stop here once and a while for odds and ends. I don’t live in the area, so I don’t do my usual shopping at this location. I do work in the area, so I’ve been in and out for the past 6 years. It has really cleaned up in that time. They made it look much nicer inside and made the grocery part bigger.
I’ve always found what I wanted whenever I stop in. I never have to wait in line for gas, and they have reasonable and competitive gas prices. (I don’t usually shop enough to get a steep discount on gas.) Nobody has ever been rude to me, but I’ve never needed assistance finding what I need.

Whatever, I think Fred Meyer is a great grocery store, especially in comparison to other grocery places close to my house: QFC (so expensive) and Safeway (actually not that bad).
First, it’s huge so they’ve got a large selection of products, not just food. You can get whatever you need for your house, yard, wardrobe, and meals in one stop. It’s hella convenient. Their clothes are definitely ridiculously overpriced though, so I’d avoid that if you don’t have a lot of cash to burn on average-​made and average-​looking garments.
Second, their staff is friendly (when they’re around). If you need help finding an item, the staff will help you and they’ll be friendly and nice about it. Their cashiers are chatty and friendly as well and, for the most part, quick.
I like Fred Meyer’s produce and wine selection, although sometimes their bell peppers and jalapenos are ugly. I also wish they had more variety of fancy, gourmet cheeses and desserts, but that’s not a big deal at all.
Finally, their rewards program is pretty sweet for the gas discount. Every time you shop, you rack up points. Whenever you get 100 points or something like that, you get 10 cents off per gallon at select gas stations (not just the Fred Meyer station). Pretty cool. I’ve used that to my advantage.
The West side parking lot is sketchy as hell though. There’s always some car parked off way in the corner on idle waiting around. And then, sure enough, another car pulls up, a window rolls down, and just like that, they exchange what they need and that’s that. Until the next time.

Nothing special … Customer service sucks! Some stuff is over priced!

Nastiest sales staff I’ve ever encountered. I’ve watched them pick up spilled fruit off the floor and put it back in the sales bin. Snotty rude employees always ready with a snarky, muttered invective. I barely use this store, and then only in an emergency. Shame. It’s closest, but I pay extra to shop elsewhere.

I remember coming here with my girlfriend and I believe we only got beer and water .
I also remember pointing out how it was dirty like the area between the cash stand and a pole had like a pile of dirt and ninety pieces of paper just sitting there.
