Worst movers I have EVER dealt with!!! Don’t use them for ANYTHING!!! I used them moving to NM and they broke EVERY antique item I had… 125 year old desk; three tables; every glass photo frame I owned was fractured. The guys they sent to my house to pack my stuff stole two of the Dish network receivers from my house. I’m a single female and couldn’t be in front of the 3 guys they sent to pack my stuff up at once and so they had free range to take items at will.
Emerald switched insurance claim carriers and NEVER paid my insurance claim!!! I have a pending court case with them!
The manager avoided my calls; they took over a month to deliver my furniture and the truck driver posted an ad on Craigslist for someone to help him unload my stuff.
The newly hired guy had never unloaded furniture before… I spent $ 4k with them moving my stuff down here and $ 6k replacing and paying to have my furniture repaired.
Disgusted with them.
Good luck to anyone that uses this joke of a company. My suggestion is to use a nationally known company and save yourself stress and emotional heart break from losing valued pieces of furniture.

I recently moved from Tacoma WA to Charlotte NC with Emerald Relocation and the move was definitely a success. This was the first time my family and I relocated ourselves. Being in the military I have moved several times over the past several years but all of the coordination was out of my hands. This move it was left up to us to choose a company and oversee the process from start to finish. We went with Emerald because we felt they were the most professional out of the movers who contacted us. They were very patient with us, answering all of our questions as they arose and never made us feel like we were bothering them (unlike some of the other companies). When it came down to the wire we chose them and are happy we did. Patrick put together our estimate and was upfront from the beginning. All cost were discussed upfront and there were no hidden fees. Louis and the crew on pick up did an excellent job packing the truck taking complete care of our furniture. I want t thank you guys for making the relocation a breeze for us and if need be we would be happy to use your service again in the future.

We recently moved with Emeral Relocation from Seattle, WA to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with their service. I don’t usually write reviews so they really had to impress me for me to get on the computer and write one.
While gathering estimates for my move I heard alot of horror stories about the industry in general and I seen some on this site as well, but I have to say that I haven’t experienced anything along those lines. I would like to thank Donovan for all of his help. They prepared a very accurate estimate, arrived on time, loaded everything safely, then delivered well within the delivery time frame. Everything arrived safely and in one piece for the exact cost they estimated. I don’t see myself moving again in the near future, but I would use them again if I had to or would refer to my friends and family. 5 stars

Completely unprofessional. Delivery was late, items were missing. Their claims process is a pain, they never call back. Definitely would not recommend using them, they are a horrible company to work with, and they lie about everything.

Great Move. Communication was great and service was excellent. They were fast and efficiant and very friendly. I had a torn rotator cuff and my wife was pregnant so the movers including one of the Mangers Louis were willing to unwrap and put all the heavy stuff together and anywere we wanted it. Marcos was the truck driver and did an amazing job backing this huge Atlas truck up were it needed to go. Overall a great experience and a high Recommend.

This move has been an absolute headache. The customer service at Emerald Relocation is the worse I have ever experienced. DON’T USE THEM!
My move-​date was 7−31−12 and I was quoted at $ 1600– I ended up being charged over $ 2,900. I tried to call Emerald Relocation several times in the following weeks– but never received a call back until I was already halfway through my cross-​country drive. The man I spoke to, Avi (?) was extremely rude and disrespectful on the phone and although I was told that my belongings would arrive in Virginia on Aug. 17^th, as of Aug. 13^th the van had still not left Washington state. OK. I can deal with being a little late.
Several more weeks of no one answering or returning my phone calls and my things finally arrive on September 2^nd (18 days after my original deliver date, and 32 days after my pick-​up date).
Instead of having dedicated people to deliver my belongings, they hired them out. Two men who supposedly picked up my things in Texas (???) came to deliver my things and after fighting with them about how I wasn’t going to pay the extra $ 75 in cash (my flight of stairs had 8 steps instead of 7). They finally agreed to bring my things in the apartment and set them up. Great, done, right? Nope.
I realized a few minutes after they left that I was missing at least two boxes. So I called and asked for them to came back. At first the guy said he didn’t have them, and I insisted that he did. He said he’d check and call me back. A few hours later he called and said that– yes, they had my boxes and they left them at a place in Maryland (I live in Virginia). He texted me the address. Long story short– I drove over an hour to go pick up my boxes, and they weren’t even the right ones. When I asked the man who I picked them up from (not a storefront, just a warehouse) who I should contact for reimbursement for gas– he said he had no idea and was just doing a favor for a friend.
I again played phone-​tag with Avi for a few weeks and it is now early Oct. and I still have not received a call back or been able to find out any information about where my boxes are or how to start a claim. I am still missing 2 boxes.
The customer service was great to start with– until I paid my deposit and committed to using Emerald Relocation. They have been nothing but rude and unhelpful. DON’T USE THEM!

I choose Emerald Relocation because the rep name Dave seemed like a good guy. However I was WRONG. From the start to the end my experience was bad. They arrived a day late to pick my stuff up. I missed my plane and had to pay another $ 400 dollars for a ticket. They never reimbursed me or offered (and I asked). They then showed up with OUT bubble wrap or blankets to cover my delicate items. Which is awful. They used paper towel. WHO DOES THAT! Then when they arrived I received many broken things along with missing boxes. I worked with a lady named Gretchen to fix things but she admitted that they are going send me straight to claims because they don’t want to deal with it. All and all I had a HORRIBLE experience and hope that you don’t ever get the same experience I did. Next time I will rent a u-​haul and pay my friends to do it for me.

Worst movers we have EVER dealt with.
We were moving from WA to CA. They quoted us around $ 3900 and the move ended up costing over $ 7000. They told us the delivery date would be June 2 – 6, closer to June 2^nd. Our stuff did not arrive until June 12^th. When we asked why we were told that they were very busy. They told us that they were professionals and did not subcontract. The driver who arrived with our stuff was a subcontractor who came down by himself and picked up a crew when he got here (he was planning on going by the local Home Depot and picking up a crew off the street). When they arrived they made a mess — boxes and furniture in the wrong rooms, dirty footprints all over the carpeting. On top of that several of our boxes and furniture pieces were damaged and broken.
The company stopped taking our phone calls — letting everything go to the answering machine. Our «move coordinator» was unavailable and never returned our calls. The supervisor was unavailable and never returned our calls.
We would NEVER use this company again, and strongly recommend that you do not.
