Picked up car, drove home… gotta go to work but now it wont start, after spending over a thousand bucks, so my review is pending how this is delt with

This weekend I took a car I was thinking about buying– from an independent seller that lived near Bucky’s. I dropped it off, went and had the best breakfast of my life (please see my review on Old Milwaukee Café if interested) and by the time I came back, they had done a full «buyers inspection». This car had a small piece of my heart (what’s left of it) and it was painful to hear it wasn’t a wise investment. I appreciated GREATLY the candor, the honesty, and the expertise of the gentleman who seemed to take a personal investment into if I should buy this car or not. They saved me from making a mistake, and in their opinion, the safety of driving an unsafe car… my life. I just wish there was one in Seattle proper! Keep it up Bucky’s, you guys were amazing!!!

Great and quick service! It is first come, first serve for an oil change. Decided to try this place instead of going to dealership and received top notch service at half the cost. Friendly staff. Parking is limited but they make it work.

Wally rocks! I called 3 times & bugged him while he was busy (as he always is!!). He was patient. He took an expired break warranty & fixed my breaks at no cost to me… Plus another part that should have cost me something… Of course within 2 months something else went wrong (not the breaks)… He didn’t charge to diagnose it… Fixed it in one day & was very fair about his prices. Love that guy & will keep going back.

Great prices and staff. I’ve been here a few times and they have always treated me and my car right. They can be a bit busy so it’s best to go there early.

I so wanted to like this place. The manager is kooky and calls you things like «sweetheart» and «honey». It’s like being in some other place… a place where they don’t worry about sexism. Anyway…
I took my truck there when I had a check engine light on. They replaced the part… the truck started acting up again in about a month… light on… they replaced it again… the truck started acting up again in about a month… light on… they replaced it again… the truck started acting up again in about a month…
It was like a cross between the movie Groundhog Day and… some movie about cars.
Anyway, I took it to the dealer and they replace the same part. They told me that the part Bucky’s had used was so cheap that it couldn’t handle the voltage. My truck has run great since and it’s been over a year.
Sigh.
I guess they’d be fine for an oil change but I would not go there if you think there’s something actually wrong with your vehicle.

Wally is the best! Been coming here for yrs. Wont trust anyone else! Cheap oil changes awesome service! If its a bit busy its because others love the shop as much as i do! Dont waste your money elsewhere.

I have come here for the past 4 years for my regular oil changes and have always been reasonably happy. On December 3^rd I took my car in because my ‘check engine’ light came on. Supposedly my 2^nd cylinder was misfiring and my car needed a major tune up to fix the issue. Wally gave me his ‘best deal’ at $ 383.00 and finished the job in 45 mins. 3 weeks later, I was driving in Seattle and my car started acting up. The situation got so bad so quick that the engine would turn off and not even start anymore after 15 mins. I called Wally and he suggested I get towed to his shop. After looking at the car Wally told me that my gas line had a major leak of 1 inch or more and that the issue was unrelated to the work they did on the car 3 weeks earlier. He quoted me $ 425.00 and said this could not be fixed the same day. I told him that this was too much and I needed to think about it overnight. The next day I got back to Bucky’s to pick up some stuff out of my trunk and tried to start the engine just for the heck of it. Surprisingly the engine started fine with no issues. I drove the car off the lot to get another opinion on the situation from a different shop. They looked at the car and advised some of the spark plugs or boots that were installed earlier must have come loose due to the vibration of the engine because they were not properly installed. They also gave me a detailed quote mirroring exactly all the items Bucky’s had performed for the tune up and came to $ 211.00!!! I went back to Bucky’s to confront Wally with the situation and he claimed he stayed late that night to fix my car for free (which he did not, I tried to get the stuff from my car already that same night but they had already closed and my car was locked inside their shop). He did not feel he needed to adjust the bill for the tune up (they charged me for 2 hrs of labor while the job was done in 45 mins!) saying that it was standard for them to charge full hours. I know this review is a little long but felt compelled to give the full background. Needless to say I will never go back there since I don’t like being taken advantage off.

AMAZING service!
The shop isn’t anything fancy– but why should it be? The best work is done in the garage!
There is a couch and a tv if you need to wait.
Taken my cars there many times– ALWAYS fair prices and ALWAYS good service!
They even paid for a rental car for me when they needed more time than originally quoted! HIGHLY recommended!
