Gemini Salon & Spa

I discovered this place a few months ago and have been going ever since! There’s a few things about this salon that I absolutely LOVE! 1) They are open on Sundays — which in Kenosha is very rare to have a salon open on Sundays and 2) If you pay with cash you get a discount on the services! 3) They are an Aveda Salon and the products they use are amazing. If you haven’t tried Aveda products I’d highly recommend them as well. This place is awesome! My engagement photo shoot was in Kenosha on a Sunday and I found this salon on Unilocal that was open on Sundays, based on the reviews I decided to book an appointment for hair and make-​up. The stylists were very professional and the results were great! Since I will be relocating to Kenosha soon, I decided to go to Allie as my stylist. She is great and really takes her time with you! I’ve been very pleased with the results. This salon/​spa also does bridal services so I booked them for the wedding day too! Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed. The place is well maintained and clean and very organized! I can’t wait to try out the other spa services!!!

This place is absolutely perfect. It’s clean, organized and has the best team. I saw Crystal for a haircut, she was nothing less than amazing. She took her time, listened to my frustrations with my hair and provided her knowledge to give me a perfect haircut. Mission accomplished! I’ll be going back to get it colored too and I can’t wait. Keep up the great job !!

I have been going to Gemini Salon and Spa for over 10 years and overall, they are a top notch salon. If I’ve ever felt less than satisfied, they have taken my complaint or suggestion as constructive. I use several stylists and trust them all. I don’t use some of the services such as massage and manicure as often as I like to, but those experiences have been great.

Just got another massage from Cheryl at Gemini Salon and Spa– it was amazing! Cheryl was my massage therapist before I moved to Seattle, and I keep trying to convince her to move out to the West Coast! She has an uncanny ability to hone in on those tense «trouble spots» and work out the tightest of knots. A massage with Cheryl will leave you relaxed and encouraged. I’ll be scheduling another appointment the next time I’m in Kenosha!

I love this place! From hair to nails to makeup and massages, they have been wonderful! I just had my wedding and they helped me look and feel beautiful!

I just had my hair done yesterday by Hilary and I was very pleased. I am very particular about my hair and don’t do well with drastic changes. I explained what I wanted to the best of my ability and she took off with it. It was almost like she read my mind. Thanks Hilary!

I’ve lived close to Gemini for almost seven years and have been using them the entire time. I must admit that though I’m a super girly-​girl, I absolutely HATE getting my hair cut. Something about sitting there with a wet head, looking like Zippy the Pinhead, as you have to keep yourself from staring at your mug in the mirror is just awful to me.
So, having a salon where I can get a fairly impromptu appointment is great for me. My usual haircut decision is made on a whim and if I can’t get in quickly, I usually have to wait until the next itch strikes me. I like that with all Gemini stylists, when I say I’d jjst like a trim, I dont walk out with THEIR idea of a trim (anywhere from four — six inches … and these are women … they don’t have to overestimate for their ego, yanno?): wink wink:
Some might think that the fact you can get in quickly is a bad thing, meaning that the salon doesn’t merit enough business to have to wait. I’ve been in the salon during both busy and slow tikes, so I definitely don’t think that is necessarily true.
Their prices are definitely reasonable, even for their top stylists. I’m usually surprised when I check out that my service isn’t more expensive. Stylists have always been very friendly and warm and not overly talkative or pushy with product sales — a nice balance. They do have great customer appreciation events occasionally — that’s a nice touch too!

Not a fan of waiting in the «relaxation area» while listening to a massage therapist complain (loudly!) about the Gemini Spa while getting a pedicure in her uniform… I don’t feel like enough time was scheduled for my appointment considering the wait time for processing was longer than I’ve experienced and also considering the shampoo girl had to apply color toner to my hair while my stylist worked on someone else. Didn’t feel like my business was appreciated to say the least.
This place was nice the first time around, but the second time the place was so overly busy it made up my mind to go elsewhere next time around.

Last couple of haircuts have been awful. They really need to update with Aveda training. The stylist have not been trained at an Aveda school but at Gateway. I was always under the impression that they at least had to have recurrent training at Aveda.

I love that I can get a rock star hair cut in an Aveda Salon for under $ 30! I used to live in Chicago and when I moved to K town was so happy to find Hillary my stylist, and she is seriously VERY good! I Have also gotten a couple of massages here, and they were good too! I like the fact that they started out washing my feet in a pretty bowl– it sounds strange, but feels really good, and gets you in the mood to relax. A few things to note* when they are washing your hair during a cut or color, you can take a free paraffin wax dip for your hands, they give a small discount if you pay in cash (probably because of those heft credit card fee that are avoided) and they have complementary tea, and cookies in the waiting area. I take advantage of all of these:)

I cannot agree with the other reviewers. My experience was not good. I was there a week ago for the first time for a haircut; the stylist was pleasant enough, but when she washed my hair she put two applications of conditioner on it (which I did NOT ask for) before she cut it. She then cut it and loaded it up with more conditioner from a jar before drying it. She proceeded to style it just the opposite of the way I said I wanted it. I told her that and she said «I think it looks cute this way.» Excuse me… I want it MY way not YOURS! Since I had lots of errands to do I just let it go, but by the time I got to my next stop my hair was completely flat, so weighted down by that conditioning stuff that I looked like a rag doll. The cost was far beyond the $ 23.00+ they post on their website; be prepared to spend about $ 10.00 more. I was not happy, considering the style didn’t last 10 minutes after I left their shop and I had to wash my hair to get all that weighty conditioner out when I got home and restyle my hair, so I could go out that evening. It is a ripoff; I should have been able to forget about my hair that whole afternoon, having had it «professionally» done… blow dry and «style» is just another way to jack up the price! Never again; I guess I’ll keep looking for a good salon that doesn’t charge so much when you don’t get what you pay for.

I love Gemini Salon and Spa. First because there’s no drama among the stylists – they all get along and clients can move freely from one to another without any hard feelings. Second, their Aveda products are superb, and management has a few sales during the year so clients can save on products and services. Color is dead-​on correct; cuts are too. The spa in the back is relaxing, and their massage therapists do fantastic work. Overall, this is a pretty salon which warmly welcomes its customers and has no attitude. A little pricey, but well-​worth the extra cost. You will love Gemini too.
