Bancroft Manor Bed and Breakfast

It’s a four-​block walk from this B&B to the heart of downtown Kennett Square. So if you want to stay on a quiet street but very close to the restaurants and shops of Kennett, Bancroft Manor is a good bet. It is a large old house with three bed-​and-​bath combinations available for rent. Owner Michael Snyder offers helpful information and excellent breakfasts. His helper Gina was also attentive and enthusiastic, adding a nice warm touch. The bed took up most of our room in the Longwood Suite, but as we were out and about the whole time, that was not a drawback. It also had an attached smaller bedroom that could have been rented for an additional person traveling with us. Our room rented for $ 190 per weekend night, a bit more than some of the hotels available in the area. The B&B offers socializing that would be absent in a hotel, and we enjoyed hearing about the activities, restaurant choices, and other travels of the two couples staying there the same weekend as us. I liked being able to walk around Kennett Square easily; that was probably the single biggest attraction for me.
