Lunch menu is fantastic and well priced. I’ve been here for evenings of drinks and sushi and I can say, every time I have been there it’s been done well.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Keene! They have the freshest seafood and friendliest staff ever. Beautifully presented dishes from the sushi bar. They always make me feel at home!

Solid Sushi. didn’t particularly liked the octopus appetizer for which we actually came for. Osumashi soup had cilantro instead of scallions, which I mentioned to the waitress and she said she didn’t write the menu. bummer! … And this blazing red neon in the windows.. so 80s! But wait they’ve been around since 1987 too! Time to update? Unrelated, maybe some… I wish NH Health Department required cooks wearing hats because I can’t stand seeing the very person that prepares my touching their head or face, etc.

Very fresh and clean… But the service was very terrible and lots of loud college kids so the experience is the only bad thing :(

I can attest to what others are saying regarding service; it is relatively poor and it will take awhile to get a second drink, but it’s easy to see that they’re trying. They are friendly enough and polite. We remedied that by only ordering Tokyo Express via takeout. Their sushi is wonderful and is entirely the reason why I like this place. I’ve tried a couple entrees off of their menu and they were significantly underwhelming. If you’re looking for a quick and easy dinner, grab some of their awesome sushi TO-GO. Otherwise, I can’t really recommend.

Not bad sushi, but nothing special. Miso soup was average as well. The surprise was that they serve Dogfish Head pale ale. Better than no sushi at all but not a stellar experience,

Nice rice and the best miso soup you can get in town, but I can’t help but wonder if their sushi choices are a bit too exotic for Keene. Quail egg and baby octopus? We tried these hoping they’d be interesting but they were jus slimy and way too chewy and gross. I’ve never live the sushi from there. Good tempura ice cream though.

Good Sushi, great service and presentation. The only thing I was not super excited about was the duck. It was not crispy. I have eaten here around 10 times.

All I can say is «good luck». I ate here on 6÷8÷14, seated at the sushi bar, and the food and service were great. I ordered about one of everything in the sushi selections, and all were delicious. A young waitress gave immaculate service. I came back the next day to a different, older waitress whose only interest was taking my menu away and ignoring me. I sat for 25 minutes before finally stoppping her(after a dozen or more eye contacts) and telling her I wanted to order. She nodded, then went back to avoiding me. The young sushi chef from the day before took my order for drinks and appetizers. I got a salad that I didn’t order, and a fried squid plate –spoiled– when I specifically requested«not that preparation». Next came the least flavorful nabeyaki udon of my life. Egads. At least the sushi was awesome when it arrived. Like I said, good luck.

Best dragon roll & spicy scallop roll… Ever! I’m a bit of a sushi snob & I can tell you, this is great. Top two sushi places in NH, hands down. We’ve only ever gotten take out here, full disclosure, but still highly recommend!

i thought this place was decent, they probably won’t come to mind when trying to think of a place to go out to eat but i might try them again when i don’t feel like anything else. They are off of Main St which really doesn’t make it any eaiser to park, they are small but when we were there we were the only ones so that doesn’t really matter. The rolls were decent, I enjoyed my meal but it wasn’t much more than mall quality Japanese food. The drinks were terrible, so so so terrible. I almost spat it out. Service seemed a little slow for us being the only ones, the salad and soup were the highlights for me.

By far, Tokyo Express offers some of the freshest sushi and Japanese offerings in all of Keene(if not southern New Hampshire)! I went here more than a few times each semester while in graduate school. This is just the cozy, sociable place with drinks ranging from American and Sapporo beers all the way through to lychee martinis and cold & warm sake. Furthermore, they make a miso soup with just the right salt to mushroom flavor balance; craft dozens of kinds of maki and sushi rolls, including crispy tempura, spicy, and Rock and rolls; and offer up a surprising, luscious dessert part rigid custard, part fluff, all tasty with mochi. I visited back here earlier tonight with a couple friends to celebrate a birthday, and still not disappointed! They made one smooth Long Island Iced Tea with a well-portioned spicy roll that could be worth doubling depending on appetite. Did I mention they also offer take-out?!

I thought this place was alright. I have been here a few times and have had a few different things. I had a lunch special that had steak teriyaki, however this was dry. I also have had one of the hot pots. I really wanted to like the hot pot but it was not very spicy. I could be wrong here but I was expecting it to be spicy. With that said my wife and daughter really like sushi and they loved the sushi here. I also need to mention that the second times where we went we order take out. When I arrived the order was not ready. That is not a big deal, and I am patiant. But when they told me I needed to wait they seated me and brougt me hot tea until it was done. I have never been to a place that seated me and brought me somthing to drink while I was waiting. I will go back here but will try womthing different. when I do I will update should an update be needed.

I have gotten take-out from here about 6 times in the last 6 months. The food has been consistently good and my orders accurate. The women who I have ordered from are some of the kindest people I have ever had the honor to pick up food from. They are always generous and kind, offering me drinks, giving my daughters free Japanese candy and bending over backwards for us. They even gave us a free order of veggie spring rolls that were yummy! I have a couple of favorites that I always go back for. The veggie dumplings are always good but the tuna/avacado roll is fantastic. I am excited to go here more often now as it is so close to the new co-op that it will be very convenient to pick up take-out after shopping.

This a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy great sushi! We’ve eaten there almost half a dozen times now, and have never been disappointed. I’m a huge fan of the volcano roll(spicy crab) and my vegetarian friends love the sweet potato roll and egglant roll. They also have a good hot pot, which my husband loves. Service is attentive but unobtrusive. This is one of Keene’s undiscovered gems, and one of my favorite places to eat.

I’ve tried really hard to like this place. I’ve been here three times; the first time I went to visit a week after they had just opened up. I ordered the Tofu Pad Thai and it was pretty bland aside from tasting strongly like soy sauce/oyster sauce. Not at all what I was expecting nor was it done well. Second time, I ordered sushi with a group of friends. All was well but later that night, the food didn’t sit well in my stomach. Without going into too much detail, I had to spend quite some time in the bathroom. I’ve had sushi before but of all those I ordered, they never gave me such a reaction as this. Third time, I ordered the Teriyaki Tofu and was quite underwhelmed. The dish came with basically a whole onion that was shredded, topped with two pieces of broccoli, less than a dozen tofu cubes and probably about three carrot slices. I was still hungry after eating everything minus the onions. Not worth what they were charging and they skimped out so much on the vegetables.
