Mexican Mojito Grill

Great little find. Quick service and food was delicious.

I am writing this review based on my own experience… took us well over 30 minutes to find parking as it is street parking only. Once we entered the smell was not pleasant at all. We proceeded to take a few more steps. There was no music. No decoration. All I saw was a mirror and walls. A few tables. The house converted into a restaurant was plain and not Mexican AT ALL! Did not look, smelled or felt like a restaurant! I even wandered if this place was legit ! A lady just watched us come in from the back/​kitchen door and did not say a word to us. Kids were running and screaming all over the place but other than that not another sound or guest at the «restaurant». (I can only assume kids were with her).
No music no greeting and not a good smell= TURN AROUND and RUN AWAY…

Best tacos and chicken soup I’VE EVER HAD!!!

Food was adequate. Had the quesadillas, maybe a little too salty for some reason, but the beans and rice had a good flavor. Service with a smile which is always welcoming.

Great, homemade food. Have been here at least 8 times and it never disappoints. Cash only. Need to overlook the plainness of the décor and focus on the food which has always been presented well and without any issue.

Found this place on a taco search near Newark pen station and it caught my attention. The place lacks décor but I was surprised on how extensive the menu was. From tortas, tacos, flautas to main dishes and even seafood! Wasn’t too happy they didn’t have chiles rellenos today tho so hence the missing 5^th star. There is no reason not have chiles rellenos! I had 2 tacos and a burrito and it was excellent! Washed it all down with un jugo de jamaica that was also very good! Coming back next week for my chiles rellenos!

By far THE BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had! Everything you order is made by the whole family from scratch! What a pleasant surprise this place turned out to be! Majorly impressed! A definite must have!

and they offered a $ 50 gift certificate so we bought one planning to go out with 5 people. The requirements stated that you had to spend a minimum of $ 100. There were no other requirements. When we let her know we had found them on the website and asked what our subtotal was so we could make sure we were well over minimum, the waitress told us she did not accept those but would only take the $ 15 gift certificate. I politely let her know that her restaurant was offering $ 25 and $ 50 gift certificates she said no. I proceeded to show her the website and tried to explain how she was supposed to use it. They then argued that they could take the $ 25 gift certificate but I had to print it out. Again, I let her know that they could validate right from my phone. She refused.
Honestly, if a restaurant does not want to participate that is their choice, but do not advertise on
if you are going to deny the gift certificates when someone brings it in.
Will not go back based on the service.

This is definietly a great spot to come if you want authentic mexican food… Everything we had was sooo good and filling… The service was also good… The restaurant was also very clean! Definitely will be back again

This place was excellent! Small hole in the wall place, but food was so good! Started with free chips which were amazing, than to the Texas Nachos as an appetizer and that was super flavorful and good for two to split. For dinner we had the enchiladas which come with rice beans and salad so needless to say we definitely left full and satisfied! Plus they deliver so next time we are feeling lazy we are going to have to order out

I’d give this place 4.5 stars. Hole in a wall, family run, authentic taco joint. The lady that works there is really quiet but very friendly. The tacos here are always good. If you are looking for authentic mexico food, this is your spot. If you are looking for Tacos with cheese and tomato, i think there’s a taco bell down the street.

The staff was nice. The food is another story. You do get free chips & salsa. But it didn’t taste fresh at all. For my entrée– I ordered the chicken tostadas and they were not good. The chicken tasted odd (I think it was old). The décor can use a upgrade. Nothing fancy. But get rid of the couch and recliner.

Have to agree with pretty much everything Karol S. said. The décor is spartan at best but the food is pretty good. Free homemade nachos are different than the usual nachos you get elsewhere but good. Salsa stars slow and then kicks in. I ordered the chorizo tacos and they were almost as good as the ones on Roosevelt Ave in Queens so that’s saying a lot! Will definitely go back for my chorizo tacos soon.
