Took us a lil while to find as Google maps apparently had us on the wrong street(apparently there is an upper and lower one). After making a quick call, we arrived on a small turn off to see a huge trailer roasting chickens. We ended up ordering a full rack of ribs and a whole chicken($ 22 or $ 24) which was a steal given the amount of food. Took the food to go to enjoy on our balcony overlooking some huge surf. The chicken was super tender and had a nice smokey flavor. The ribs were a bit dry but did have a nice flavor. Would definitely go back for the chicken.

The chicken is good and the ribs are great! Every time I see their sign up I check my wallet to see if I have cash to stop. Don’t be put off by the roadside stand, they are always very friendly and the food is always good.

On the big island for a week, and the chicken here was the best thing I ate on the whole trip. ½ chicken plate was a large lunch for two. So good.

Amazing food. We spent a week on the big island and stopped here because my husband loves funky little roadside barbecue places. I swear this was the most delicious thing we ate on our whole trip! I love barbecue chicken and this was some of the best I have ever had. Yum!!! Got the half chicken plate and it was plenty for 2 people to share. Super nice people, too!

This is a MUST stop location. Get your grinds on! They do not operate everyday so IF you see the smoke and signs you MUST pull over. I made the mistake of not pulling over the first time I passed. I had to wait a full week to see them again. I got a full chicken and took it home for lunch. It was so juicy and tasty. Fingers were all messy and my lips were smacking. This was sooooo good. While chicken was $ 14.

Wow, they do only 2 things, chicken and ribs, and they have perfected the art of wood fired rotisserie meat! We had the chicken and it was the juiciest most flavorful chicken I can ever remember having. They are just on the side of the road with their giant wood fired rotisserie grill trailer. This isn’t a place you can sit down and eat, you just take it to go. I believe they just sell on Friday and Saturday and apparently they often run out early. I would definitely go back and highly recommend it to anyone who likes good BBQ to try it.

Yes Yes Yes. This is the one place you have to without a doubt stop and have. My Fiancé and I shared the Rib and Chicken plate. I’m getting so hungry thinking about how awesome it was I may have to drive out and get some. Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned.

Visiting from Oahu, searched for huli chicken to satisfy cravings, this food truck came up with great reviews, decided it’s probably worth a try, right? Wrong. Dont know if because we looked like we were not from there, but not a single smile was cracked. Whilst friends and regulars of the people running the place received warm welcomes. Got a whole chicken and a rack of ribs, $ 14 and $ 12 respectively. Ok, reasonably priced. Next, one scoop of rice was $ 2, so about a 3 compartment styrofoam container was $ 10, what a rip. Corn was also $ 2 a scoop. Chicken legs and wings were moist, breasts were dry, ribs were dry, could have been marinaded better. There was only one table with about 7 seats so we decided to eat there. Tipping point was while we were eating, friend went to get some bottled waters, the lady who ran the cash register said«Are you guys eating there? We’ve got some company coming soon so…» Ok, I know a poorly masked«shoo» when I see one. Aren’t we also paying customers? Don’t we deserve the right to sit and finish our meals in a timely fashion? It’s not like we were loitering and would’t leave their precious rickety wooden table full of ants and bugs. All in all, the food was nothing special, have had way better. Service was nothing short of horrible and condescending, or maybe it’s just targeted at non-locals. I would not recommend this place to anybody even if it were the only huli chicken place on the island.

We drove by in the afternoon on our war to Captain Cook. The huge smoking BBQ trailer called my attention. I ordered an combo plate which is half chicken, some rips, rice and sweet corn. Unfortunately, there were only a few seats and they were all occupied. So we took the food to our accommodation. The meat was tender and juicy, just delicious! The sides were also good. I like corn that sweet. Highly recommended!

I drove by this place on the way to the Greenwell coffee tour. It is basically a side of the the road stand with a pretty crazy smoker. They have ribs and chicken and both smelled amazing. You can buy a rack of ribs, a whole chicken, or a half chicken with rice and corn. We got the half, sat down on chairs in the smoker area, and devoured everything. It might have been the best chicken I’ve ever eaten. The seasoning was amazing and the skin was all crispy. The only thing left was bones when we finished. You have to stop there if you see it. The food and the people cooking it were both awesome.

Every time I drive by this outdoor food stand I drool from the smell. Finally I stopped at lunch time a couple of days ago and got a whole chicken and a rack of ribs. I loved the huli huli chicken! It was moist and tender and packed with lots of keawe wood smokey flavor. This chicken was really big too so we are still eating it a couple of days later. I just liked the ribs, instead of loving them, because it seemed like they were country style as opposed to a real rack of ribs, but still very good.
