Went on the urging of a friend that loves the place, They let you sample different types of balls, many flavors and was good(isn’t most chocolate good?). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The downside was my coffee was barely warm and not that good to me but I think the girl was new, everyone else had iced coffee and they loved it. All in all I was the only one disappointed so I may have to try it again.

Donkey balls are nothing more than malt balls with hundreds of flavors. And they are expensive. Mostly a gimmick but still good to taste. Fun stop for tourists and kids.

Favorite place to stop for chocolate when I come to the big island! We spent over $ 100 and got a free donkey balls bag! Pretty cool!

Had to stop for a place called Donkey Balls. It is just a little south of Kona heading south. They have a big selection of chocolates called Donkey Balls(Mac nuts covered on chocolate) and Monkey Balls(we tried mango flavored malted balls). Great candies but they really are large and a bit tough to bite into. So many great flavored so will probably order more. If you are in the area stop by. They also offer coffee.

Novelty for the demented. Simple shop for chocolate covered nuts, dried fruit, coffee beans and you can grab a hot cup of coffee..

Plenty of balls to go around, but I didn’t get a chance to buy any. Reason being was the customer in front of me was gabbing for almost 20 minutes to the cashier while I waited to buy my donkey balls. Yes, I am on vacation. But time is precious for me too. It’s really inconsiderate to leave other customers to wait like that. I put the bag back and didn’t make the trip here again.

Funny names for each of their flavors. Free samples so you can try them before you buy. Good idea for humorous gifts and really tasty too. Workers were really nice and helpful.

It’s basically a store, whatever. You can see some people doing something through a window but there’s no explanation or any reason I can tell to come here instead of going to their regular store. The chocolate is pretty good but nothing to get excited about. It seems the name of the place is the best part. Friendly staff that had a coffee bar but those are ubiquitous.

We enjoyed our visit here. The coffee was strong and delicious. The lady who served us was very cheerful and made us feel welcomed. And the price was extremely reasonable($ 2 for a genuine Kona coffee).

Entertaining place to shop to say the least. Tourist prices, but what else would you expect? Had a lot of fun just looking and staff was friendly and helpful.

They had plenty of samples to try and super friendly and helpful staff. They were making Caramel Goodness Goat Balls the day we were there. They are Dark Chocolate with Caramel and were delish so of course we purchased a couple packs of those. We also purchased a couple packs of the Blue Donkey Balls. They are milk chocolate covered macnuts and they are fantastic! Warning, they will turn your entire mouth blue! It is worth it! LOL! Highly recommend going here!

Meh on the donkey balls themselves but thumbs up on service and visiting the store. The service here was incredibly warm. If they don’t have what you want to sample, they’re willing to open a bag for you. I think it’s more unique to visit and watch them make chocolate from inside and to take a photo outside of the store and inside for their dorky(but fun) items. Buying their chocolate covered macadamia balls on the other hand were not work it. We bought several bags to take home and wished we bought other things instead. However, their coffee looked amazing. Will have to try their café next time!

Donkey balls… Awesome name for what they do. We stopped by the factory on our way to the volcano. The cashier greeted us immediately upon entering and offered us samples of any donkey ball we wanted. The making of the balls could be seen behind a pane glass window. I got a the classic donkey balls for a souvenir. Come here for your balls.

Their chocolate is SO amazing! My other half is from Captain Cook and usually he doesn’t like to tourist around, but I made him take me here because I absolutely love chocolate. I’ve always heard about this place and really wanted to see it for myself. I’m from Oahu… we don’t have much local chocolates and if we wanted decent chocolates we’d have to buy from places like See’s Candies or Godiva. I wanted something authentic and local, which led me to: Donkey Balls. It’s definitely a very country looking store. The chocolates all have their own unique names and although expensive, I loved the different flavors. They also have samples by the register that you can taste and I wish I had enough space in my luggage to bring a bunch home.

Loved stopping in these shops while we were in Kona. Not only are the labels entertaining but the chocolate is really really good. One of our favorites were the Salty Balls and we also found some spicy Hawaiian salt seasoning that is AMAZING here. If you’re lucky you’ll get to see them actually making some of their products while you shop. We were lucky enough to see Blue balls from start to finish and they even let us sample them fresh from the tumbler. We had an awesome time!

Yes I know, its a tourist trap but I had to see what and where and how these Donkey Balls are made and because I bought these balls at the airport a few times. I had to wait for parking on the roadside when we got here while everyone went in to check out the balls. I finally got a space to park a few minutes later. Fyi– its roadside parking. When I walked in, yes it was all tourist and lo and behold, I saw my wife standing in line already waiting for the cashier to bag those donkey balls. I never saw her with so much balls in her hands o_O. Donkey balls, chickin balls and goat balls. All kine balls. The coffee balls were ono. These were my favorite. They also have a coffee shop inside with small kine knick nacks and some cool shot glasses that say«you gotta have balls». The walls are lined with different kinds of balls. Big balls, small balls and teeny tiny balls. I didnt see any factory machines making balls or anything like that or a window to look into so you can see the balls being handled by the workers. If you like the taste of these donkey balls when you put them in your mouth then this is your bag. Reach out grab some bags and stand in line. I would say buy them at the airport but they dont carry that much variety like they do here.

Never tried Donkey Balls by Lika until a good friend brought me a package of dark chocolate flaky balls made with coconut! The chocolate is the star of tihs confection, but there is also a small roasted macadamia nut in the center. There are about 6 balls in each bag in varying flavors. They use Guitard chocolate, so the balls are rich and delicious. And you don’t have to fly to the Big Island to enjoy this treat! It’s available at local ABC Stores on Oahu ! Woo hoo!

Haha. Donkey Balls. I’m mature. Not. But really — the chocolate here is good [I think it’s actually from SF], and their products are creative & make me giggle. Oh, and they have a cat & I’m in love with him. Is this the best candy I’ve ever had? No. Are the caffeinated drinks a little too sweet for me? Yeah, probably. But. Donkey balls though. I’ll be back. Just to get some unique gifts for [mostly] the men in my life. And to pet the kitty.

It is a very fun shop to check it out. All the chocolate have very unique names. Love it when they call the chocolate«balls”~ It is so entertaining when we read every package because lots of humor coming from the owner! They give out sample to taste too.

Small shop, BIG balls! This is a cute shop to visit for fun omiyage from Kona. There is a variety of funny donkey balls to choose from. I personally like the Dirty Balls(rolled in chocolate powder), Salty Balls(rolled in salt), and Jitter Balls(rolled in coffee powder). There are also some other fun flavors such as Dingle Berries(berries covered in chocolate), Blue Balls(balls rolled in blue stuffs), and so much more. I spent almost $ 30 on 2 small bags and one big bag. I must admit its pretty pricey but I love to see the reactions of friends when they receive the balls!
