As of recent I am on a medically required low salt diet. I hate giving up the salt but it is a trade off: health or food I crave. Here I have found a balance: great food and acceptable levels of salt. I have been coming here for years and I am a fan. The Good news is that I can still eat here. I just have to pick what I eat. They have a nutritional list that I follow:
For me, the delicious green beans, the turkey or ham have too much salt. However, the beef, ribs and pork are within my salt budget. Happily, the corn on the cob and the baked potato still work. To me, they have one of the best briskets around so it is my staple.

I ordered the their rib special meal for $ 13.95, was really good, but just a small portion:(There wasn’t hardly anybody in the restaurant and the lady who passes out the warm bread buns only made one round once. I’ll just stick to Goode company bbq.

Have never ever had a bad experience here. Everything I’ve eaten, from the brisket to ribs to sausage and especially the turkey have been delicious. Even the salads are good. Best part is the fresh rolls they come around with. They are definitely the best when they are hot and fresh. I think it’s great they give you unlimited sides with some of the different plates. The kid plates are a good size as well. I also love the bbq sauce. The staff there is great and attentive!

We have eaten at Spring Creek-Katy since they opened. We really like their Barbeque and the sides with dine-in service. However, their take-out leaves a lot to be desired. We always order ribs and the last several times they have given us the rib scraps which we have to send back for re-cutting every time. This is extremely annoying. When we voiced our displeasure with the quality, the manager stated«what do you want me to do with these ribs you are sending back?» I think overall they are an ok establishment but we will not be getting take-out anytime soon. They seem to have a lot young kids working there which is fine but the establishment seems to lack strong leadership and a consistent quality review process. I hope they can improve the take-out service soon.

While I am not a fan of ‘cafeteria’ style service… it was pretty good. We had a party of 5… there was a small line but it went fast… loved how they came around with fresh hot dinner rolls. Shredded beef sandwiches were a hit with the group! The sides they offer were fair… very canned/processed type of sides… would have been great if the baked beans didn’t have meat in them. The BBQ sauce at the table had a good flavor… not over powering, but not bland either. All in All… pretty good stuff

I like smoked turkey. Their turkey does not seem smoked, perhaps boiled. I gave it 3 stars because my spouse loves the brisket. Really wish they had better quality turkey!

Solid experience. All our smoked meats were really good. Ribs were great not over smoked, had a little pull on them when you took a bite. The chicken was juicy and was a good seasoned skin. The sides were ok but who really cares. Rolls are fresh and hot.

The barbecue is good, but the service is spectacular! Look its a chain, it ain’t gonna be on the food channel because the line is out the door or the food is all gone by noon sort establishment, but it will do in a pinch. However, the staff is ultra friendly and customer oriented. My wife is allergic to Poultry(Chicken), but as soon as I said something to the young man behind the butcher block he was off like a shot to get a clean cutting board, knife, and gloves. He made sure she got the cut of brisket that she wanted without a hitch. She was very happy. Thanks you!

Good meat, great extras. I believe SCB is an import from Plano/Dallas. Working in downtown Houston, I would equate it to Pappas Barbecue. Overall, not great barbecue, but not bad either. What makes SCB stand-out is everything beyond the meat. Comparing SCB to the nearby Rudy’s, I actually prefer the barbecue at Rudy’s over SCB, but SCB has awesome unlimited sides, free rolls that are brought to your table, and delicious desserts. Pie, cobbler, and free Blue Bell ice cream! Rudy’s basically has meat and a few refrigerated sides. I had the brisket meat in a sandwich and as a dinner. The meat is good… not a big smoke ring, and not too dry. The sauce is very tasty, sweet, not overly thick and blends well with the meat. On my last visit, SCB was offering beef ribs, which I wanted to try. Instead, I received pork ribs, which were still very tasty. The pork itself was cooked perfectly… almost fall-off-the-bone, but not too much to make a greasy mess. Other rib places I have visited in the past offered ribs with a dry rub so tasty that they did not need sauce. SCB ribs are good, but still better with a bit of sauce. I have had SCB turkey in the past and was not that impressed. The breast looks like a chunk of processed meat you find at a grocery store deli. It also didn’t have much taste beyond grocery store deli meat. The chicken… very good. Yes, it tasted like rotisserie chicken, and SCB does it well. Again, a little bit of sauce makes it better. I really like the sides at SCB. Corn on the cob, green beans, mac and cheese and delicious barbecue beans. SCB also has cole slaw and potato salad, but I usually go for the green beans, BBQ beans and mac and cheese. The rolls are very tasty. They look like tiny loaves of bread and are always hot and fresh. Expect a worker to come by your table with a basket of fresh rolls right after they come out of the oven. If you like cobbler for dessert, SCB has a delicious apple cobbler with Blue Bell for an additional $ 5. Overall, expect to pay an average of $ 15 a person. My wife is a teacher and SCB always gives them a coupon at the end of the year for their service. SCB has great community support. Another thing I like is the code names that the meat cutters yell-out when you place your order. Pay attention… it’s quite amusing. On my last visit, Rudy’s had a long line at 2:30pm on a Sunday, so we went to nearby SCB. We had a shorter line at SCB and the food was good. Some Christian country music was piped-in and ran on a half-hour loop. A waitress came by with free ice cream just after we sat down with our food, but we thanked her and told her we would wait until we finished. When we completed our meal, we found that SCB had run out of Blue Bell. Big bummer. I would normally give SCB a solid 3.5 stars, but based on our last visit, running out of Blue Bell ruined the end of the meal and knocked my rating down a bit. I know, dessert may seem petty, but this is Blue Bell we are talking about!

My husband and I was looking for a restaurant that we’d never been to before was really undecided on what we wanted until we smelled the beautiful smell of bbq coming from Spring Creek bbq. We went around lunch time today it was pretty busy but there was plenty of parking. It was clean and nice on the inside. The food is served cafeteria style and the grill is right next to the line so you can actually see the cook up close and personal cooking meat on the grill. The sides were Mac n cheese, wide cut green beans, baked beans, okra, potato salad, corn on the cob etc the baked beans & wide cut green beans look like it came out of a can. The Mac n cheese looked average nothing special the corn on the cob looked good but I wanted to try the potato salad and the fried okra. They were pretty tasty. It seemed a lot of business professionals were dining today. It’s a pretty sociable place a great place for gatherings who like good bbq. Would I eat here again? Yes Would I recommend Spring Creek? Yes I hope this review was helpful and I hope your having a wonderful day. SYOY!!:)

I was a little unsure about eating here because of the reviews. I’ve never eaten at Spring Creek Barbecue before. But my wife and I gave it a chance and I’m so glad we did. Being born and raised in Houston I know Texas B.B.Q. and I always judge a B.B.Q. place by how well they do three things. Pork Ribs, Brisket, and their B.B.Q sauce. So I ordered the 2 meat plate of Brisket and Pork Ribs. The young man cutting the meat gave me 3 choices of how I’d like my brisket; lean, marbling, or mixed. I choose the marbling. My wife ordered the sliced brisket sandwich and she choose mixed. My side was potato salad. The Brisket had a nice blackened rub crust to it with out it being burnt or too dry. It had a nice ¼ inch or so pink smoke ring to it, just about right. The young man sliced it just about the right thickness and the marbling made it nice and tender. Lets call the Brisket an 8 out of 10. My wife liked the bun for her Brisket sandwich. She said the bread tasted slightly sweet and it was lightly toasted so it didn’t get soggy quickly which can be a problem sometimes. She gave it a big thumbs up. The pork ribs were decent size. They had a nice dry seared outer crust to them like I like. The inside was nice and moist and flavorful. They had a nice smoke flavor to them that was not over powering on the smoke flavor. The flavor was a nice balance. Lets call them 8 out of 10. The B.B.Q. sauce was a nice, slightly sweet sauce with no real spice but a bit of a strong smokey pure sugar cane or molasses flavor to it. It was pretty good. I’d give it a 7 out of 10. The atmosphere of the place was nice but we ate there about 3 in the afternoon before the rush so it was quiet. The restrooms were nice and clean which is always something I notice and appreciate. Overall I give this place a solid 4 stars out of 5 stars for the dining experience and a solid 4 stars out of 5 for the food. I would be a «go to» B.B.Q. place on my list of B.B.Q. restaurants.

This is the best barbeque in katy by far! Until my precious Papas bbq opens a location in katy, this restaurant is as good as it gets!

Equally good service as one we went to in Conroe a few weeks back. Food was tasty, service was good and workers were jovial and even offered up complimentary blue bell ice cream — bonus! I am a bbq snob and this place is pretty good. Give it a try!

SpringCreek BBQ brisket is as close as I can get to my husband’s brisket. It can use a little more seasoning. The tenderness melts in your mouth the same though. I like adding the brisket to the southwestern salad. Yum! FYI… They serve complimentary bluebell ice cream on Sundays.

I love their turkey, bread and fried okra, best items on the menu! The sauce is a little too sweet for me. The green beans and macaroni are pretty good as well. I had the ribs this time and they weren’t the best I’ve had. You can’t beat the hot fresh giant rolls!

Is it bad when all you remember about the place are the rolls? The rolls were damn good but that is what really stood out in an average barbeque place. Been here many times because an old friend loves coming here all the time(probably shouldve voiced my opinion). Sausage is fine and beef is too but I guess I am spoiled by the barbeque served in Austin. The sides are average and the bbq sauce is eh. Desserts weren’t bad but then again it’s hard to screw up dessert. Service is fine, but overall nothing stands out to my palate.

This is my favorite Spring Creek in town! I don’t like fatty ribs or brisket so if you’re like me this is the place you want to come to. Their service during dinner is way better than the others too. They’re very friendly and customer service oriented! This is my first time here for lunch and the food is great as well but service was lacking a bit. Enjoyed my lunch anyway!!!

I have visited Spring Creek three times and each time, I have been disappointed. I enjoyed my spicy sausage, the complementary bread, and the barbecue sauce. However, a good barbecue restaurant needs to have more things going for it than the aforementioned. Their brisket, coleslaw, potato salad, and beans are all subpar. The brisket was way too fatty for my liking.

Spring Creek was a staple dinner spot growing up and so when we visited Spring Creek last weekend I knew exactly what to order. 1. Ribs — Ask for the center cut pieces since they have a little more meat and are moister. Overall my favorite meat pick here. I usually like sweeter bbq sauce and their sauce is on the sweeter side. 2. Baked potato(all the way!) — Fully loaded giant potatoes. 3. Buttery Dinner Rolls — They do dinner rolls right here. They’re constantly churning out fresh rolls that are immediately placed in a bread basket and served. Consistently fresh, buttery and perfect. Fun fact — Sunday lunch is celebrated with free Bluebell homemade vanilla ice cream for everybody until 3pm. Another fun fact — Stay on the bread server’s good side. If you swarm the bread as soon as she dumps it out of the mold, she’ll get upset and tell you to take a seat. You’ll later be served the small lumpy rolls when she reaches your table.

I came here with my brother’s family given they live in Katy. They wanted to have BBQ for lunch and I was like, «Oh OK, Rudy’s around the corner.» But they wanted to go to Spring Creek Barbeque instead. I was a bit skeptical because I never been there before and Rudy’s right across the highway. But the food definitely wins me over. They have lunch special but I got myself a loaded baked potato as meat and tater goes great together. One of the good thing about this place is that you get free sides(well it comes with the plate special) but the best part is that you serve the sides yourself. So you could get as little as one scoop or as big as making the corner plate overflow with the sides. Let’s be honest here, I was hungry and I gave myself generous portion of the sides of green beans and slaw. The potato’s size is decent and overall I feel like I definitely got my money’s worth. But one of the surprise thing is the rolls. As some may have mentioned in the other reviews, the rolls are fresh and they actually have someone come out and hand you more rolls. I had a good lunch here and I can see why people are still coming here for BBQ instead of the big chain across the street.
