Spec’s Wines Spirits & Finer Foods

I happen to be near this Specs so I went in. Their website said to call the store about whether they had Asahi Black in stock. I walked towards where the beer section is and an employee greets me and asks me if I have any questions. I found out from this employee that this particular location no longer sells Asahi Black but he was able to point me to where the Moose Drool is and suggested a dark chocolate stout which I’m enjoying as I’m typing this review. Even the cashier was friendly. Customer service at its best.

I really like how organized this specs is. The staff is usually really great and very helpful. If you do not see a product you are looking for, ask! They’ll check the back and look it up to see what other stores near by will have it.
I love coming here to work a promo or enjoy others promotions.

There is really nothing to complain about about Spec’s. I love their selection of local wine, beer, and spirits. I fancy myself a bit of a vodka (vodak!) connoisseur and The Lone Star vodka I found at Spec’s (it’s almost always on sale) is phenomenal. Look, maybe it’s pure water like some people say it is, but vodka isn’t supposed to have a taste, anyway, just ask the ATF. If you don’t like that, get Cooranbong. It’s Australian and made from grapes. Yes, grapes.
Customer service is great. I’ve never met an unpleasant employee or someone that was unwilling to help me find something, whether in-​store or in the computer. I even had an employee (granted, about two years ago at a different store, but I have a hard time believing it would be any different here) dig through the stock room for a limited release Saint Arnold, find it, and come running to the floor with the bottle above his head like the Olympic Torch.
Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable employees combined with a phenomenal selection of everything you can think of AND you get a discount for paying with cash/​debit or having the Spec’s Key OR BOTH?! Case discounts?! I’m on it!

Specs is my absolute favorite liquor store! Specs has an exquisite selection as well as friendly and knowledgeable employees. Also, they have good prices, good sales, and offer a discount for paying cash.

Very knowledgeable and very helpful. I went in on a dead night and two salespeople were more than happy to talk about the different types of Scotch they had.
I ended up getting a bottle they recommended, which I didn’t particularly care for, but I will go back to talk to them about the different types and get a recommendation for a different taste.

Decent selection of cheeses, cookies, chocolates and even coffees, but come on, that’s not why people come here. The selection of liquor is what people come here for, but they should also come for staff.
The staff here alone has helped us expand beyond getting the same old red and whites because they are «safe». Heck, we have even strayed a bit in liquor selection to lesser known brands of our favorites — also on the suggestion of various employees. Have we been disappointed? Well of course, but we have been pleased more often.
I understand there are times when just any liquor or grocery store will do just as well, but if you like trying something new from time to time, this is a good place for it!

This is a good place for wine, liquor, cheese, crackers, and Godiva chocolates. Specs has a reasonably good wine selection and knowledgeable employees to assist you. The people working here aren’t just clocking-​in and clocking-​out. They know a lot about their products, can provide information, recommendations, and answer even the most obscure questions.
The customer service is outstanding. Every time I’ve been, I’ve had multiple employees offer to help. It almost makes it too fast and easy, when I’d like to browse for a while! The only downside is that their prices are higher than HEB, but their selection and wine-​educated employees make the difference worth it.
