I contacted Mercy to provide the goats for my son’s aqeeqah. The owner, Sam, was incredibly courteous and helpful throughout the entire process. When I arrived, I was allowed to select the exact animals I wanted. The premises was clean, and after seeing how obediently the animals responded to gentle instruction, I could tell that these animals are treated well and humanely. I let Sam know that I wished to perform the sacrificing of the goat by my own hand. He advised me that ideally, if you want to do this, you should let him know in advance because he will give you special instruction that you can practice at home prior to coming in(this is necessary because the animal must NOT be made to suffer due to an unskilled cutter — the act must be very swift and precise in order to be painless and humane). He provided me with the instruction and then he lead the goat over to the pen for me. The goat came peacefully and laid down and I was able to complete the act without any struggle — the process was very peaceful and spiritual as I said my prayer to bless the sacrifice in the name of Allah. If you have never seen what is required to prepare the animal for weighing, I can tell you that it is a complex process of cutting and cleaning the animal properly. Sam did an excellent and efficient job in a very reasonable amount of time while I stood by and waited. He also told me a bit about his back story of how he came to the idea of opening Mercy. It’s a great story and if you are there on a slow day it is a pleasure to hear. We weighed the animals after they were cleaned and then he rang me up. The entire process was very easy and efficient, and my son’s aqeeqah was very beautiful thanks to Mercy Custom Slaughter. The prices are based on weight and are fair and reasonable for the service provided. I will definitely return here again, and I will highly recommend this place to my friends and family. Five stars!

I went here on Eid to do my Qurbani. Horrible experience! First they take cash/check only. You know things are shady when a merchant doesn’t accept credit cards, if they did, customers can complain and can easily file a complaint through their credit card company. Always proceed with caution with a merchant not accepting credit cards since cash/check becomes a non reversible transaction. I came in around noon on Eid and the cheapest goat they had was $ 240. The guy before me had a cheaper goat reserved but they gave it away to someone else. Whats the point of reserving a goat if they end up giving it to someone else? Also just fyi his goats go down in price the next day after Eid. Mercy has a great video on youtube depicting how they sacrifice the animals but they don’t practice the«merciful» way of slaughtering like they show on the video. Because of the shear number of goals that need to be slaughtered, the goats/lambs are rarely relaxed and die in a panicked state. I wanted to do the sacrifice myself but they prevented me from doing so(even though I told them I had permission from the owner). The workers are young, poorly trained volunteers. The next step was to get our goat cut and skinned which we ended up waiting 4 hours! They only have 2 machines to cut meat so it takes a LONG time. People in line get rowdy and irritated(kind of reminded me of Hajj) One customer even went as far as to cut in line and give a worker some bribe money(which he gladly accepted) to get his goat cut faster… The owner is a great hard working guy with a great merciful way of slaughtering animals but not on Eid. Come to this place on any day EXCEPT Eid!
