My 2.5 yo son did not attend this school, however, I went on a tour with him just a few weeks ago. My comments today are due to that tour. The location looks well organized and clean. The staff I interacted with was very kind and courteous. The prices are comparable with the area median income. They offer camera access for your viewing pleasure while your child is in their care which is a big thumbs up. The amount of programs they use for your childs education is astounding! ABC Mouse being one of them. They even have a computer class. My only concern was the infant room and the teachers for the toddler class. The infant room(s) looked to be good other than the caretakers looked very overwhelmed. The babies were well cared for and all, I just felt really bad for the caretakers that had both arms occupied in rocking chair and rocking two babies’ bouncers with their feet. Also, the caretakers looked to be very young(I could be wrong), they looked to be still 18 yo, I’ve had a nanny at that age range and it’s not a good fit for babies… their patience just isn’t there yet and caring for more than 1 baby cannot be easy for them. The toddler class was in a special room watching youtube videos(educational) and the teachers just looked very unengaged and bored. Now you’d think there is no engaging during a youtube video, sure, I get it, but cheer up and get off your cell phone. They offered to waive the registration fee if I registered in the next 24 hours of my visit. I did NOT appreciate this bait and switch technique. I don’t make decisions for my childs care on a «whim» and«special discount». That is what REALLY turned me off. I live across the street from these guys and I still choose a location 15 minutes away from home. Now had I brought my son here, would I have been happy? Sure, but now that I’m at a Montessori school and seeing what they’re teaching him to prep him for pre-k, I’m glad I choose a different location. And lucky me, his current school is opening up across the street from this location in less than a year. On another note, their half day schedules are very strange, I’m almost forced to place him in there full time: 8am-12pm or 2pm-6pm. The school he’s at now, he’s there 9 – 230. Weekly Full Day Fee’s for Early Pre-School(2.5−3yo) are $ 230(5 day) $ 190(3 day) $ 165(2 day) $ 190(half day, 5 days) — Fee’s remain the same above 3 if they’re not potty trained. One thing I did really like about the school was the flixibility to place your childs registration on hold for something like a week long or longer vacation(you’d pay 50% I believe). One thing I noticed about TX is that all only accept cash or check and have no means to pay online… this is extremely outdated and schools should take note of this stat. My sons last school was only a couple years old and they upgraded to an online system where I could use whatever CC or Debit Card I wanted, they also had the ability to charge any CC I wanted automatically on the 1st of every month… I never had to think about another check to write! This location is no different than all I’ve encountered in TX, cash or check only. In the end, this is still a wonderful location, just wasn’t the right fit for us.

As a first time parent, I was very anxious about leaving my 12 week old son when I returned to work. From the first time that we checked out Kids R Kids of Katy on 1463, we were impressed. We dropped in on a whim and took a tour. They didn’t blink an eye that we didn’t have an appointment and we were given a very thorough tour. We had seen a couple of other day care facilities and we were so impressed that we put a deposit down that day, in January, to secure our son a spot in August. The next month, when my mom was in town, we dropped in again and were again given an extensive tour. Needless to say, she was also impressed. The front desk staff has continued to be amazing, and knows our son when we walk in. They are incredibly friendly and helpful! The first week was hard on us as parents, but our son was well cared for, interacted with constantly, unless he was sleeping(my husband and I both watched quite a bit that first week, and still do now) and happy. The second week was much easier on me at drop off, and now I am sad when he doesn’t get to go because I know he is getting GREAT care and curriculum. All of his teachers are fantastic. Mrs. Paula is amazing — she loves the babies, has tons of experience, and is very honest with this first time mom about if something is wrong. She gives an overview of the day at pick up(when he last ate, when his last diaper was, if there is any new developmental milestones he is getting close to). She always has the babies’ best interest first and foremost. They babies love when she sings and dances with them! We also love Ms. Larisa and Ms. Mubina. Ms. Mubina is there in the mornings when I drop our son off, and she always has a smile on her face(even at 6:30!) and is so happy to see him. We could not have asked for better care takers for our child. We have recently decided to move to another city to be closer to family, and I am heartbroken that we won’t be able to continue with Kids R Kids of Katy. Our son has received top notch care and age appropriate curriculum. We have already started looking for Kids R Kids in our new location because we love them so much. I wish we could take his teachers with us because they have brought us such peace of mind.
