Wonderful massage by Sue, and an amazing Signature Facial with Tina. I was extremely pleased with the services. Only suggestion is the property needs to be maintained better — meaning better landscaping and exterior upkeep.

Come to this salon and go to Melissa Karpinski for all your hair care needs! Today I had my first appointment with her, and she took my worst hair cut ever and turned into something I could have never imagined! I feel so beautiful with my fresh new look and I know I couldn’t have got the great service anywhere else! I can’t wait to go back to Melissa for my touch up! I can’t say it enough, go see Melissa! :-)

I came on a Wednesday to get a spa package which included a facial, mani and Delux pedi. The staff was sweet and very welcoming up front. My morning started with a facial treatment which was fantastic. I hadn’t had a facial in years and my esthetician Tina was great! She had a lot of questions as my skin as been acting up and gave me a lot of suggestions. She seemed very knowledgeable and gave a great massage! Onto my mani/Delux pedi… I’ve had better quality at a $ 20 mani pedi combo place. The color I chose was light and she only did two layers. I could clearly see how sloppy it was so light. The room we sat in was awkward. Away from everyone. The pedi machine was older and didn’t work too well, super squeaky and definitely not quiet. The place was alright, I prefer spa at cinco ranch if I’m going to pay money. It’s much nicer over there. But not bad for being around the corner.

Me and two of my colleagues went to have our make-up«professionally» done for a photo shoot that we were doing. We had three different makeup artists. One was 30 minutes late getting started and finished before anyone else. My girl, asked me what color foundation I wanted(I have no idea of the colors for airbrush!) and then had to be asked to use blush, eyeliner and mascara. The airbrushing was uneven and splotchy. My other team mate looked like a working girl! They were not consistent and all of our make-up was terrible. We will never go back there to get make-up done!

I will never return to this salon even if the cut and color was free! I was charged $ 170 for uneven short bob and«highlights» only a few was needed in front which from the results was a gray hair touch up. Oh wait can’t forget about the line of color I have randomly placed in the front section of my hair. why didn’t I say anything when I was there. because it was covered up by short bangs blow dried to the right to cover it up vs. The original side band to the left which my hair parts. I’m sure it’s a wonderful salon just not for me.

Lorraine is fantastic and a doll! Once I couldn’t get in with her right away so I booked with someone else. There were multiple minor issues that left me feeling obligated to inform management. I just wanted to make sure they knew about my experience, and wasn’t expecting the result. Gail went above and beyond! She was so great to me and I left feeling valued as a customer. The best customer service a gal can ask for!

Nice place on the inside. Great products. I have been to three different people for hair cut and color(I am usually making appointments at the last minute, so I am not picky about getting the same person) and they have all done a great job. My husband also started going here and they do a great job on his hair too.

Dear Blondes – if you are looking for a wonderful colorist, visit Dana(I think her last name is Huntsucker, but not sure on spelling). Her color job is so perfect, it’s liberated me from the torture of forced 6 – 8 week highlights. Dana’s task was to clean up the last highlight job I got from a different salon(WAY too much over bleaching used). She did an amazing job… I asked her to get my hair back to almost it’s natural color(medium blonde), with a few wispy highlights. 6 weeks later, I’m still loving it, and I can’t even see the growing-out line. Dana has dark hair, but her sister has a blonde, so she practiced on her sister’s hair for years, and has perfected blonde shades all over the spectrum. I found her through our dental hygienist who had the most lovely all-over foil highlights. You get a $ 10 discount the first visit – the price was average for a nice salon – I can’t recall exactly, but around $ 125 for a cut/highlight/style. Loved my cut, too. So glad to have finally found a stylist down here!

Don’t use Tiffany Ho if your are getting hair color. She left me in the chair with color on my hair for 50 minutes(recommended time was 30 minutes), then she tried to tell me the color she left on my forehead skin was baby hair. Truly unprofessional. The manager, Judy, was also rude when she returned my call the following day. Guess I’ll go back to Houston for hair care.

Okay, this place is wonderful. After living in Katy for a bit over four years, I’ve tried many salons and never found what I was looking for… and. Dear girl at the Ulta salon who literally chopped off a foot of hair when I told her very specifically to go no higher than my shoulders, leaving me looking like a very tall Little Dutch Boy: I’m still scarred. So, I needed a formal updo for a Christmas party last December. Enter Ivy Pham, who did my hair and makeup and made me look significantly better than I had when I’d walked in. She was masterful, relaxed, fun, and I liked her immediately. She was a genius with the updo – it was beautiful and sophisticated. I didn’t end up looking like Sarah Palin, Snooki or a prom date, and even though it was really windy that day, it never *budged*. All evening I had people asking me if my hair had extensions in it – nope, that was just Ivy’s creative genius with twisting and pinning on full and glorious display. Fast forward to today. I hadn’t touched my hair since then other than trims, and recently I somehow seduced my overly-busy self into trying a box of Clarol(«Easy!») foam dye at home… hm. Big mistake. Despite being careful with it, I looked like an aged goth reject. It was too dark and very dull. Plus, my hair was too long and had no discernible shape. So I did what I should have done in the first place: I ran to Ivy. First let me just say that if you haven’t been to Highland Salon, get ready. It really is a luxe experience, and one it’s impossible not to enjoy(unless you’re the bleached, frizzy and über-demanding lady next to me at the shampoo sink this morning who was huffily telling her poor new stylist that she was«very picky” – no kidding – and grilling her on prices and techniques before grudgingly agreeing to go ahead with a trim. Bet she’ll get shuffled to the next victim, uh, hairdresser, fast. Lady: they’re skilled professionals, not mind-readers or magicians.). I was really glad to see Ivy, not just because I needed her to rescue me from my self-imposed dye job, but because I knew she’d work her magic again… and she definitely did. After a restorative time-out in her chair, I left with perfect color: my own chocolate brown, and so shiny you’ll need shades to look at it – as well as a great haircut that kept the length but added badly-needed bounce. She has my continued thanks for her skills, and suffice it to say that this time I’ve already booked my next appointment in May. Cuts, color, makeup, and updos – Ivy does it all, and very well.

This place is like a gigantic factory! But then again, everything is always bigger in Texas. I have had my hair done at Highland Salon and Spa for multiple formal occasions: prom, homecoming, Madrigal Queen, and now bridesmaid. I had suggested this salon as the place for my brother’s bridal party to get their hair did as they have always done a great job in the past for me. This past weekend they did not disappoint. The salon was punctual with our party’s schedule and all of our dos turned out beautifully. Katrina was my stylist and she did a wonderful job giving me a low chignon full of volume with just a tiny bit of Texas tease on the crown. It was extremely sexy yet elegant. I felt like a Texan débutante during the entire occasion. True, my hair was extremely flammable with having a full can of hairspray emptied into it and all, but my hair lasted all day and all night. Thank you Highland Salon!

Went today after reading reviews here, had a great time with Tammy. I have three kids and I just want to relax at the salon and not chat — she let me. I just sat there reading magazines :) Great prices too — I did color touch ups and highlights and a cut for $ 140. And I have a TON of hair. Edit: I’ve now been several times and have taken my daughter there too. My friend has gone and taken her kids too — always have a great experience. Thanks Tammy!

Different stylists to choose from. Martha is my favorite. I have been going to her for 6 years. The salon is very pretty and everyone is so nice.

This place is nice, especially since the hair stylists are not part of a big corporation and get to choose their prices, hours, and products. There are 50+ stylists here, so if you don’t know who you want to see, it can seem a bit intimidating to choose. I called to make an appointment with an experienced stylist and the receptionist was sweet as can be. She set me up with Yelitza the next evening. Yelitza was easy to get along with & if I lived here, I’d definitely return to her. She did a great job cutting and restyling my long hair. She has very reasonable prices, too. I definitely recommend her. ;-)

One of the most unsetteling feelings of the world is when you loose your long time stylist. Following a horrible stylist faux pas by a previous Highland Salon owner of almost five years, I tried Wen Chic several times and Josephine’s searching for the right stylist for me. I thought I had found a good one at Wen Chic, only to have her move away. So, at the end of my rope, when looking for a salon that is 1. close to my Katy home, 2. affordable and 3. well known, I decided to take a risk and go back to Highland Salon, especially after I read current Unilocalers reviews. I had the receptionist choose someone in the mid range that she liked and trusted and I showed up on Saturday to get a trim. Imagine my suprise when I walk in to realize that my old stylist from Wen Chic has moved to Highland! Yelitza, a small, beautiful, sylish stylist with a great sense of humor, greeted me in the waiting room and realized(after only doing my hair one time, last October) that she had met me before. She also recognized me from Unilocal,as I had reviewed her when she was at Wen Chic. She has been working at The Highland Salon for about a month in a half. She is a great stylist, very open to my thoughts, did I like smooth and sleek or volumn and wave? She thought me several different ways that I could do my hair on my own. She cut my hair and then cut my bangs dry, to make sure that she liked them and that they worked for my face. That’s right, I got bangs! Almost a week later I still love my cut, which I think is the real test, and have no problems styling it myself. I had no idea that I was going to Highland to see a stylist I had seen in the past at a different salon, but it worked out perfectly, and I know I will be back to see Yelitza soon for my next cut. Glad I gave Highland Salon another shot, don’t drop it just because there are a few bad apples ’cause Yelitza hits the spot.

I first came here after my hair was near-devastated from an awful bleaching mess-up elsewhere. Fortunately, one of their stylists, Kimberly Vo, was able to fix the disaster on my head with some well-done lowlights. Ever since then, I stopped my search for a hair stylists in Houston and situated myself here. I have also been seeing Frank(a friendly and talkative gentleman) for hair cuts and coloring. I must say, he knows how to handle curly hair(fine/thin or thick), and it is much appreciated. I would definitely recommend him if you have that sort of hair. I like the hair coloring that they use for highlights, Goldwell; however, my only gripe is that the color hasn’t come out quite the way I envisioned, even when bringing a picture to show as an example. I have fairly difficult hair to deal with and coloring has been tricky, so I don’t necessarily hold that against them. Everyone else I’ve referred to here has been satisfied with their outcome. This place is very nice and clean and everyone is pretty friendly. It’s a hair salon and day spa, and they have a multitude of stylists to choose from, as shown on their website. I have been to lots of hair salons in the Katy area, and this one is by far my favorite. P. S. Some of the stylists prefer cash/check, and their hours vary.
