Kimberly is seriously one talented lady! I had my eye lashes done and wow, wow, wow!!! She made me feel absolutely gorgeous! She was professional, gentle and explained each process as she so diligently worked. VERY reasonably priced as well!!! I can’t wait to go back in and have Kimberly work her magic on my hair! I highly recommend going to Shear Nevaeh if you live in or are visiting Kapaa. You will love and appreciate the great attention to detail and this shop owners obvious love for her craft!

When I moved to Kauai from California, I was more worried about finding a good hair person than finding a good doctor! I happened to ‘find’ Shear Neveah and Kimberly when I was in the building on another matter. I am so glad I did! Kimberly is knowledgeable and, most important for me, knows how to give a great cut. I always color and highlight my hair, too, and Kimberly has worked with me to get just the right combination that makes my hair look natural and healthy. She is gentle with how she treats my head, never yanking or pulling. My husband goes to her, too, and she does a great job with men’s cuts. I highly recommend Kimberly and Shear Neveah.

Kimberly is THEBEST! Now I’m a dude who’s had a ton of barbers and hair stylists in every city from SF to New York to Berlin. And I take pride in having a dope haircut. Trust me when I say that Kimberly is the best stylist I’ve ever had. And her prices for a men’s cut are as low as the ghetto barbershops I used to visit in LA, but with the service of a high end salon. It’s a ridiculously good deal! Kimberly really takes her time and gives your hair her full attention. I have a mohawk that needs to be cut in a particular way and a lot of hair stylists have half-assed it or messed it up. Not Kimberly, she got what I was trying to do instantly and made sure every step of the way that she was getting it right. Not only is she such a pro, but she’s also incredibly friendly and warm. Getting a haircut with her is always a fun and enjoyable experience. Not to mention, she even shampoos and washes your hair, which is always awesome. I dread the day I have to leave the island and find a new stylist. But until then, I’m so stoked that I found Kimberly. Now if I could just get her to follow me around the world and cut my hair… hmm… :)

I am incredibly lucky to have met Kimberly, the owner of this relatively new hair salon in Kapa’a, on the island of Kauai in HI. My husband and I are here for a couple months this winter, so we both needed some quality hair treatment during our stay. While my husband’s needs are pretty straightforward, needing just a trim every month or so, I have a special need: my scalp simply can not tolerate any peroxide– or ammonia-based hair dye. For almost two years now, I’ve been using an oil-infused hair dye with excellent results and complete comfort for my scalp. I especially like Redken Chromatics coloring, as they leave my hair silky soft, shiny and just lustrous for several weeks. Before coming over, I had searched on Redken’s website for a colorist anywhere on the island of Kauai who would be certified in Redken hair coloring products. I was in luck! My search turned up Shear Nevaeh in Kapa’a, not far from where I am staying in Princeville. I called the salon as soon as I arrived on Kauai to make sure someone could fit me into their schedule. The owner, Kimberly, called me back and assured me I could get an appointment with just a few days’ advance notice.(Compare that to what is usually a 4 – 6 week advance notice required back home!) I was immediately impressed with Kimberly’s professionalism, knowledge and flexibility. I consider a hair stylist/colorist as important as my own GP doctor: they know my history, preferences and issues. As far as I know, Kimberly’s salon is the only one on Kauai that can accommodate people like me with a sensitive scalp, using this oil-infused coloring line. I mentioned to her that my hair stylist back home uses the Chromatics product line on elderly, cancer patients, and people like me with extremely sensitive skin. I can’t help but think others out there would be interested in knowing that the Chromatics hair color can process without any sensation at all for a good 40 minutes even. Previously, the peroxide-based color I used would have my scalp zinging, itching, burning and driving me crazy in about 10 minutes! At the last minute, as I was making my appointment, I mentioned to Kimberly that my husband was also overdue for a haircut. She said, «No problem!» She fit us both in together on a Saturday, letting my hair color process while she cut his hair. That saved us the additional trip to the salon and gave us more time to enjoy our vacation over here. Kimberly has a lovely salon, located on the top floor of a professional building that offers exquisite views of the sea on one side and the mist-shrouded mountains on the other. Absolutely relaxing and beautiful place to sit for a hair coloring and cut. She has just hired a manicurist, and also sells a few accessories in her salon. Altogether, it was a very pleasant and positive experience. I highly recommend Shear Nevaeh for anyone who is looking for a caring, highly experienced professional salon while on Kauai.
