Stopped here after flying in. Clean fast food joint for some Hawaiian BBQ. The chicken is great. Wonton Udon soup was a bit bland. Oxtail ramen was plentiful but in the salty side. They have boba teas and smoothies.

Low prices|generous portions. Not the friendliest staff. Would like to see the sauces on aLL tables; sharing with all tables wasn’t ideal. Lychee Boba tea made the visit worth iT.

Spam musubi is excellent here. One of the only places I was able to easily find in Kauai. Also got the taro bubble tea. Prices are very low for Hawaii. Nothing fancy inside, not that I was looking for it; just a quick bite. Staff isn’t super friendly, but more than likely a language barrier. Clean seating inside, but hot. Would definitely recommend for takeout. I can’t really knock a place for being what it is. It’s a low key spot, with low prices for good food.

Loved this place! Garlic shrimp was the best. Very friendly and good service. I bought coconut hard candy in the bag. Wish I would’ve bought more

We went in for a quick lunch, having been to L&L in Los Angeles we expected something a bit different. This location was a bit dirty with what looked like Chinese food sitting in a warmer. The only employee we saw was fine, not overly friendly or enthusiastic. The food seemed re-heated rather than freshly made. The positive thing is that no one got sick.

This place was 1000 times better than any other L&L in vegas. It wasnt very clean more outdated but the food was on point as far as the bbq mix plate. I see alot of other bad reviews. You don’t come here for seafood especially in Hawaii.

The food was good. No it’s not southern bbq but then I’m not traveling through the south. The prices are cheap for the islands. Service was fast.

We almost didn’t stop here because of some of the bad reviews. Fortunately we had lived in Hawaii for 20+ years, so we know what to expect from a plate lunch. Don’t pay attention to the uninformed who expect southern barbecue from a Hawaiian plate lunch place. That’s like complaining that your sushi bar makes bad lasagna. L & L is nationwide now, so people should know what to expect. was spotless, the staff friendly, and the food as good or better than any L& L. If you have never experienced a. plate lunch, you should know that this is what Hawaii eats. It is fast food for the Kamaaina. Give it a try and leave your preconceptions behind.

If you come from the southern or middle portions of the United States, you probably won’t recognize this as a BBQ joint. I walked in with visions of slow-roasted hogs on the spit and scarlet-centered brisket slices fighting for space with fries or baked beans. This experience was closer to a generic takeout restaurant. The décor is reminiscent of a greasy spoon diner or mid– to low-range Chinese place: restaurant-standard tiled floor, fairly dense seating, various cheapish-looking decorations on the counter and walls, white foam tile drop ceiling, etc. There are two sets of doors on opposite sides, so it was nice to enjoy the breeze coming through. The menu is on back-lit signage hanging behind the counter and features a number of combination plates with their available meats and sides. You order, pay, and get your drink at the counter, then come back for refills because the water glasses are very small. Our group of four ordered and had our grub delivered in a fairly normal amount of time by a smiling employee. Without being familiar with Hawaiian BBQ generally and the L&L chain specifically, I’d say the food is middling. On the recommendation of my brother, I got the BBQ Mix plate to get a bit of everything. The chicken was the only meat I would really recommend; the beef was dry/tough and the short ribs were just OK(not a lot of meat, not very tender). The macaroni salad was good, but not as flavorful as I’d expect a side at a BBQ joint to be. The rice was a bit on the dry side. I had better BBQ at trucks and non-BBQ restaurants during my trip, and for the same or only slightly more money. I’d recommend exploring a bit to find a place that delivers a higher quality product.

What an awful place! We ordered the«healthy choice» garlic Mahi mahi. It consisted of 2 miniature pieces of fish and about half a pound of lettuce. The brown rice was awful, as well.

Beware! Went in expecting L&L… Came out highly disappointed! Place is dirty and creepy. Ordered the short ribs and fried shrimp combo, shrimp were old and hard. Short ribs were tough and fatty! How empty it was inside should’ve been an indication of what to expect. My gut told me to walk out? But decided to give it a chance. Never again.

This place was dingy and dirty. There was only one other couple in here when we visited. We ordered the steamed fish wanting something healthy. Our order took over 20 minutes to cook and the first order came out and sat while the second order was being cooked. The girl at the counter could not speak very proficient English so when ordering I had to re-word my questions so she could understand. The next customer was having the same problem communicating with her. While we were waiting for our meal(no AC in building) the counter girl was eating her dinner at the counter. When she finished her meal she went to the sink right behind the counter to wash her bowl and after she completed washing her bowl she filled it with water, put the water in her mouth and swished it around and then spit it out in the sink. YUK…very unsanitary. Don’t go to this place.

Eh. Big portions and yummy macaroni salad. I had the beef teriyaki plate. Beef was fatty in some places but overall good. Dingy interior and a little creepy. Overall okay if you’re in a pinch and need a lot of ok food fast.

Just stay away. Place was dirty. Food was awful. Ordered BBQ chicken and fried shrimp. The chicken meat was questionable in taste… pulled so much fat off of it. Wanted to try some local fast food joint but really regretted it. Never again! There are plenty of other options in town.

Für ein Drive In OK, aber ähnelt eher einem China-Schnellimbiss. Man kann dort essen, mehr auch nicht.

We were pleasantly surprised by the food here. The oxtail soup was rather delicious, and the seafood platter(mahi mahi, shrimp & scallop) was quite tasty. The customer service here was terrific. The guy who took our order was very friendly and helpful. The price was fairly reasonable. Our bill averaged out to around $ 11 per person.

I would never stop by this place in a million years either in Hawaii or on the West coast. It’s just not worth the time and money!

This eatery is located within a shopping center that includes Foodland grocery store along Kuhio highway. This eatery greeted us right away upon entering. The prices are good from $ 2-$ 9 and offer dishes like chicken, fish, shrimp and beef. They also create burgers too. I ordered bbq combination and the food came out tasteful and plenty of meat. In the end, I was full and felt as though the food was fresh. I would recommend this eatery is you desire a good combination of beef, fish and chicken in one plate. The food is greasy and the cooks were starring at me when ordering and even after sat down. The mahi mahi sandwhich was greasy. Overall, I was full after finishing my meal and for the price– food was right. The combination plates offer plenty of food– enough to feed two people. This location was full with customers during two visits I made so be prepared to wait a little… about ten minutes for your food.

Lots of food for a great price. I got the BBQ chicken and the BBQ Mixed plate to share with my brother and sisters. Plenty of left overs. Place was clean and the service was prompt. Thumbs Up!

Hawaiian fast food joint describes this place best. The mixed plate was good but the Mahi Mahi was pretty oily. All in all a decent place for quick bite

This was the first time we’ve gone to an L & L in hawaii and like others say that the menu is different than in the mainland we ordered the Oxtail Ramen and Just a regular ramen and it was pretty good. The workers at this L & L is honest as they can be. We forgot our SLR camera at the table and weve already gotten in our car when one of the workers ran after us to hand us our camera! Thank You honest lady we couldn’t be more grateful for some of our wedding photos’s were in that camera!
