People pour in and out of this place — fast and friendly service, outstanding coffee and really delicious and creative breakfast features. Our whole family had something they loved.

Amazing local coffee place. Friendly fast service. We ordered everything from the breakfast sandwich, the carrot cake type muffin, the coconut muffin, shark bite iced latte and the cold brew toddy. Everything was delicious and fresh and the place was packed. We most definitely will be back. We also picked up a bag of freshly roasted coffee to take home. Doesn’t get any better than this place!

This place doesn’t deserve the high ratings it has. It has great ambiance and a friendly staff but other than that the only decent thing was the Chemex pour-over. The drip coffee, was no different than any random cup of Starbucks. But the biggest let down was the food. We ordered breakfast and lunch to go since we were doing a hike that day. And only one out the four items we got, the Surfer Girl, was good.

We had breakfast at this coffee and food café and thought it was great. Try their Kahlua park breakfast burrito. It came with fresh pesto and fruit and it was delicious. Their coffee drinks were top-flight. It also has pastries. I only wish there were more places to sit down as it was raining when we were there and it was pretty packed.

So yes, I will admit, I had the Surfer Girl 3 times in a week while on vacation in Kauai. Soooo good! The bagels are so fresh and yummy. Place is packed always. Go! And get the t-shirt.

Hip atmosphere with cool décor and plenty of great food and drink options. I ordered an egg and hummus sandwich on an everything bagel and an iced chai latte. It’s a small place, but there are a couple tables outside. This was just the kind of breakfast place I was looking for! They also serve lunch including plentiful salads, wraps and other artesian sandwiches, so I will be back!

Ok, first of all — this is a hippie joint — in a great way. I love their ethos of food and drink, and you have to really accept some of the inconsistencies that come with hippie joints. I.e. — had an amazing smoothie one day, but then an average version the next(second person put in less ginger and more ice). That being said, their coffee and espresso are the best on Kauai, their smoothies are original and well-made, their pastries are overly sweet but — again — original, delicious, and cater to specialized diets(vegan, GF). Staff is friendly and informative, facility is clean and welcoming. Love this place.

in a week on kauai i spent more mornings here than i anticipated. why? because their service is fast, their choice of options was plenty and i keep coming back for the same thing over and over: the beatnik bagel with pesto, cream cheese, sprouts and shredded beets was to die for! the clientele varies. there are obviously locals as well as visitors but the line moves quickly, there’s indoor and outdoor seating and you’d be hard pressed to be disappointed by anything you ordered. i saw breakfast wraps, breakfast panini-like sandwiches, a myriad of coffee and tea options and then the bagels! stop by and check this place out – if you have time to sit around, it’s a comfortable atmosphere but people were also taking their food to go. it was filling, high quality and kept me satisfied for the major part of the day, whether i was doing something athletic or planning to lie around in the sun.

It’s my 2nd to last day here & I’ve been eyeing this place since my stay so I finally came in this morning around 11& the line was literally getting ready to go out the door so you know that’s a sign they’ve got something special or unique! Java Kai boasts a wide selection on the menu; coffee, teas, smoothies, sandwiches, salads, breakfasts, even acai bowls! I opted for the papaya date shake which is amazing & has papaya, banana, dates, rice & coconut milks. I also highly recommend the Aloha Bar; chocolate & toasted coconut on shortbread… Amazing! I will say that they’re a little pricey; my drink was $ 10 for a 20 ounce & with the aloha bar came out to $ 14 after tax, but you get what you pay for & this was definitely worth the money!

Came here twice on a four day stay in Kauai — it’s that good. Love their logo and of course their coffee. Even bought a few bags home. Service can be a bit slow but that’s part of the island life. And if you have patience, they make a cold brew that is high on caffeine, low on acidity which is wonderful. Highly recommend as your go to coffee place if you’re in Kapaa.

Best bagel sandwich. I’m still dreaming about it. Cream cheese, pesto and tomatoes. I added bacon ;) Lots of street parking available and close to many shops.

Loved the breakfast here so much that we went twice in 3 days while we were visiting Kapa’a. I had the surfer girl sandwich both times – egg, bacon, tomato, and a pesto aioli which really makes it, plus add avocado yum! The coffee is great too, try the Maui mocha, it’s sweetened with coconut which is delicious. 5 stars all the way, I may come back to Hawaii just to have another breakfast here.

I would rate this place 3.5 stars. 4 stars for coffee, macnut latte, and the salted caramel mocha cupcake. Just 3 stars for food, though. It was just OK. Got the spinach feta croissant and it was soooo bland. Hubby got the kahlua pork burrito. He said it was just ok, too. Service was pretty fast but not the most friendliest staff… Ambience is hippie-chic coffee joint. They sell some pretty cool trucker hats and shirts.

Mein Mann und ich waren dort zum Frühstücken und sowohl der Burrito meines Mannes, wie auch mein Bagel waren sehr lecker. Anschließend haben wir noch einen Smoothie getrunken und auch der war frisch und hat super geschmeckt. Unbedingt ausprobieren!

Yum. Drink selection is great here, you really probably can’t go wrong with your order. Cold brew and the iced shark bite and iced tea were delicious. Yes, I had two drinks it was that good. Date had the cold brew which was apparently delicious. For juices, I’m sorry but I’m still a bigger fan of the juice company right around the building. Bagel sandwiches are good for sharing. The feta one is great. Premium pricing here and a Marina del Rey/Larchmont/Venice feel but you pay for what you get! Will definitely be back! Btw, they also sell some Kauai gear and have one restroom in the back entrance that leads to the unnamed juice company. Hehe

5 stars for the Kona coffee and other specialty selections. 1 star for the soupy dragon bowl and acai bowl. My dh couldn’t even finish his it was pure juice. The fruit and granola was great but the texture was way off. Sad :(

I eat far far too much when I come to Java Kai… Wired Monkey and Falafel wrap make a perfect breakfast. winning combo I love Fleurings and Java Kai sells a variety of pieces. They have vegan desserts… muffins, mousses and sweet sundries galore… Stop by Java Kai!

Cute hipster coffee shop in Kapaa town. Pastries(spam and kimchee croissant) and coffee looked good but I opted for a dragon bowl and Kalua pork burrito with salsa instead. Burrito was amazing!!! Bowl was good but small for price. Thought it needed a bit more granola. Tables need to be cleaned out faster or have a designated area for ppl to dump their trash cuz I ended up eating at a dirty table with uncleared plates. Ono rating: 4.5

Whenever I come to Kauai, I ALWAYS make an effort to come here for breakfast. One of the best ways to start my day. Everything about this place has a great ambience. Love the artwork they have up(always new pieces to look at) Definitely gotta make an effort to try everything here. It’s fresh and delicious!

Geschmacklich? — Halt Geschmacksache. Meiner Frau gefällt er, mir weniger. Daneben gibt es aber diverse andere Angebote. So z.B. 6 daily selection of fresh roasted drip coffee. Vier Sterne.
