Run do not walk to the Beautiful B&B that has all the amenities you could ask for and the owners are so nice. If you are going to Kauai and are looking for a good priced place to stay that isn’t a resort then look no further than the Dilly Dally house. The B&B is located a couple miles back from the water, but it is pretty high up a hill and the property extends so you have a beautiful valley view and view of the ocean just off the back of the property. It is moderately priced and you get a delicious breakfast every day with some sort of fresh fruit along with it. When you arrive the owner is there to greet and shows you around the place. In case you forgot something they have everything for you to borrow, use or keep(in the case of plastic bags etc.) Need aqua socks they have them, boogie boards, surf boards an outdoor patio with a huge grill a swimming pool with a small waterfall leading to it, oh and did I mention a gift basket that is filled with all things Hawaii. Trail mix, macadamia, chocolate macadamias, water you name it it is in there. It is almost centrally located so you can get to the North Shore Pali Coast in an hour and the West Shore Wiamea in an hour. It is minutes from downtown Kapaa which has some cute shops and some decent restaurants. We loved this place and plan to come back again this time for a week instead of just a few days. This is the best place to stay bar none.

We really enjoyed our stay here. I’m surprised there aren’t more reviews on Unilocal for this place. Some friends came here on their honeymoon and highly recommended it to us. Our hosts were great, very laid back(as most on the island are) and were happy to provide us with everything we needed/wanted and more. You basically won’t need anything but your clothes when you come here, they provide everything else you could think of. The grounds and pool are lovely, and the house itself is great. We stayed in the Suite, which came with a wonderful king size bed, sitting room with futon couch, a tv fully stocked with cable(including HBO) and there are tons of DVD’s that you can borrow. Both days we stayed, the breakfasts were great, and the hosts were more than willing to offer up suggestions on things to do and see. Much appreciated. To top it all off, it was more affordable than any of the hotels near by, or in Poipu. We got so much more for our money, and such a unique experience. I’d definitely go back. There are a lot more reviews for this place on TripAdvisor. Pretty much all of them are stellar. You won’t regret staying here, in fact, you’ll probably come back.

We can attest that Lolo Hale or Dilly Dally house is the best B&B in Kauai — perfect if you want to feel like you’re really experiencing the life as a local, and if you’re OK with meeting and interacting with other people. We went for our honeymoon and were blessed with some fun other couples who were visiting at the same time. We stayed in the Cottage which was perfect as we were on our honeymoon and wanted some extra privacy and room. It was so nice to be able to spread out, and cook in if we wanted– in fact we grilled fresh fish and kabobs one night. The cottage only had a Queen was a concern to us as well as we are used to sleeping on a King, however the beds were so cushy and soft that it really wasn’t an issue at all for us. We couldn’t tell when the other got out of bed. The other concern that people could have with that room is that the shower is outdoors. It really was great actually, and added to the experience. The water pressure was great. The only issue was one night when there was high winds and it was slightly chilly, but it wasn’t a big deal. Plus it allowed us to have great views during our showers! Many places in Kauai have a problem with roosters not allowing you to sleep. This property has border collies next door which help keep them away so we got great nights of sleep. Definitely off the beaten path in a funny way, the location was a perfect jumping off point to go to either north shore or south shore, which we did pretty evenly, and also enjoyed two days on the property lounging and reading by the pool by ourselves. It does require more driving to get to the beach than staying at a beachside resort, but we agreed it was worth it for the views. It was also so convenient having a bag of towels available, sunblock. bug spray, beach mats, etc. for our usage so we didn’t have to buy or bring a ton there. Denise was the sweetest hostess. She happily provided us with a great variety of food each day, with plentiful fruit and local pastries. She even surprised us with a nice treat on our last day of our 8 day honeymoon. She chirpily provided great activity and food suggestions for all of us. We came as guests, and left as friends. It was such a wonderful place to stay. Just make sure to have a GPS or get very detailed directions before you go, because Waipouli has 2 ends to it and it was slightly hard to find it in the dark w/o a GPS.
