For years before Costco, this was all we had on the island. They carry different items than Costco, and is a great place to shop when on the east side. Gets our full support. We are glad they are here.

Best kept secret in Kapaa. It’s a miniature Costco but you don’t need a membership card to shop there. If you’re staying at one of the nearby condos and plan to do your own cooking, this is the first place you should stop to load up on the bulk items like eggs, bread, veg, etc. They do offer some smaller packaged foods as well, like salad mix, etc. After this place, I recommend other shopping at Food Land, where you can get local items cheap and fresh.

Not as well-known as Costco or Safeway, but this hidden gem will save you some serious green. For instance, a gallon of milk can run you $ 10 or more on Oahu. I was told by a Kaua’i grocer that food prices on Kaua’i are higher because food gets shipped from the mainland to Oahu first, then from Oahu to other islands. So imagine my surprise when I found gallons of milk averaging $ 5.50 at the local Cost-U-Less. Dang, does this place have its own cow in the back or something?! Produce, sliced meat and water were also reasonably priced. What else? $ 8 for a huuuuge tub of ice cream! In comparison, we spent $ 6 today for two of us to have ice cream from a store! Sheesh! Plenty of parking out in front, and unlike with Costco, a membership is not required to shop here. Also unlike Costco, the place was not crowded at all on a weekday afternoon!

I feel like every time I come here the workers are rude and un helpful. Some of the prices are decent but all in all I wouldn’t come here for regular shopping. There are places with much more helpful and kind workers, which to me, is worth the couple cent price difference.

In our family, we call this store«Cost-U-More» because it costs more than Costco. Selection is decent, but Costco beats the prices hands down(even with the membership fee).

Convenient alternative to Costco when you live on the Eastside and don’t want to make the trek to Lihue. No membership fees here, just discounts. They offer much better deals than the«Healthy Markets», such as Healthy Hut and Papayas. They have ample parking and are located just off the highway.

Cost-U-Less is a smaller, faster, non-membership warehouse store that sells food and supplies like Costco but without the crowds. It certainly is certainly a more convenient warehouse store to those who live or are vacationing in the north end of Kauaii. I appreciate the fact that in addition to selling massive sized warehouse packages they also sell normal grocery store sizes for those of us who don’t require 4 pounds of butter at a time!

Stumbled on this place by accident, great place to buy certain foods. With groceries costing almost double as mainland in those other stores, Cost-U-Less is much appreciated. Friendly staff and never crowded.

Great place to shop. No need to have a membership card like Costco however the prices are as good. Not as large and pretty and it doesn’t carry TV’s, and sophisticated electronics, but for food, the best value.

What makes Cost-U-Less a good place to shop… — You don’t have to pay a membership fee — The staff treat you like family — Your money isn’t being funneled back to some corporate office — They stock pretty much everything you’d find at Costco. and whatever they don’t, just remember: You’re on an island. what did you expect? Los Angeles? — A good location in town — Reasonable prices — Nice meat department — Fresh vegetables from local farms

kauai’s next best thing to costco. now that they have one, i wonder if this place will close? in any case. anyone could shop here. no membership fees, but things did cost a few bucks more because of it.
