This part of town has very little in the line of businesses. The exception is a little strip along Emanuel Cleaver that the city has cleaned up so people don’t have to see the poor neighborhood as they drive to the Plaza from Highway 71. This Walgreens is included in the handful of businesses that cluster in this area.
Like most Walgreens, the store is clean and has a good variety of things. A pharmacy, cosmetics and toiletries, a small selection of processed foods, office supplies, and just a bunch of general need items.
Service is friendly. The store is clean. It is a benefit to a neighborhood that would be without if not for the need to provide a band-​aid to hide real life from suburbanites.

I only live a couple blocks from this Walgreens so I visit it relatively often. Usually it’s mediocre. The have a decent stock the workers are friendly, but you usually have to wait in line for a while before checking out.
However, last week I stopped to get some hair products for my new hair cut and was having a difficult time deciding what to buy. A staff member walked by and noticed I was trying to decide between two products. She told me she had a coupon for one of them if I wanted to stop by the cosmetic counter. I was really impressed by her pro-​active response. It’s rare these days to get offered help that is not only actually helpful, but that you don’t have to ask for.
I really wish I would have taken her name because she not only helped me in the aisle, but gave me coupons and free samples and checked me out at the cosmetic counter so I did not have to wait.

Super friendly and surprisingly helpful and clean figuring the neighborhood isnt that great. Doesn’t have a lot of anything but is good when I need something quick to avoid a trip to walmart or target after work
