My husband and I decided to try Rainbow and see if it was good. We ordered special fried rice and special lo mein with everything inside. Omg! It was delicious, and it was a lot better than other Chinese restaurants in KC. we highly recommend it. We will continue to come back !

After reading other reviews, I called for a delivery order. Affordable and was still hot when we received it. Pleased to find actual, perfectly cooked vegetables with the Lemon Chicken. Sauces were not thick heavy obnoxious, but light and flavorful. The only disappointments were the egg rolls and the pork fried dumplings… not a fan… we’ve had much better elsewhere. But all-​in-​all my family agreed this is our new go-​to delivery place.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. Best Chinese food in town. So delicious and no msg! Mongolian beef and generals chicken are so good. The kitchen is always clean. The service is wonderful and fast! You can’t beat their lunch specials!

General Tso’s chicken is great! I really enjoyed their eggs rolls and crab Rangoon also. Delivery is fast! A bit better than other «fast food» Chinese places I’ve had around the metro.

Nice, clean place. Try it for lunch and you will leave full. $ 5.95 gets you choice of egg drop or hot & sour, crab Rangoon, and choice of entrée with steamed or fried rice. I would recommend general tso chicken extra spicy! If you spend over $ 20 you get 2free egg rolls. Will visit again.

We had been here once before and ordered appetizers which were good. So we felt comfortable and looked forward to eating dinner here. This time we ordered orange beef and soups. The soups were very good but the orange beef was way too sweet and had a dense too strong dark sauce and the dish just didn’t taste really fresh. We may give it another try, or may not.

Good food at a good value. As good as any other «fast food» Chinese restaurant I’ve tried so far, with a similar set up and menu.
Rainbow China offers a $ 5.99 lunch special that offers a meat (a limited selection from their broader menu, but still over ten options), with steamed or fried rice, soup, and a crab rangoon (you can trade the soup for another crab rangoon).
I’ve been here a couple of times and only tried the mushroom chicken with fried rice, which was good. The chicken has large pieces of mushroom and zucchini in what amounts to soy sauce. The crab rangoon were rather chewy and I’m not even sure it had crab, or imitation crab at that, but I didn’t really expect much from them.
Rainbow China offers what dishes that most people expect and recognize along with generous portions at reasonable prices. It certainly worth checking out of your in the area and in the mood for Chinese food.

Best Chinese I’ve had thus far! The General Tso’s chicken is incredibly large and the sauce is filled with flavor and the cashew chicken can not be topped! The employees and the service are the absolute best part of it all. Highly recommend !

Not the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to, but it’s not bad for Kansas City. I did enjoy their hot and sour soup. Cheap + fast = I’ll be coming back.

We ordered delivery & it arrived exactly when they said it would, and the delivery driver was super nice.
The portions were huge– and a good value. 4 entrees, 2 sides of rice, 2 orders of crab Rangoon, and 3 drinks. Including tax & tip it was under $ 50. Not bad at all, because we will easily have enough leftovers for another meal later.
The food was very fresh and flavorful and well seasoned. It’s good, high quality Chinese food. We will order from them again for sure.

The staff is incredibly gracious and friendly. People must love this place as it was non-​stop busy with call-​in orders. The food was so-​so; very bland but perhaps that was just me. On a positive note, very fast service.

Love this place! We are regulars here. If you are looking for cheap Chinese food, this is the place. It is reasonably priced and very good. They always gets our order done in about 10 minutes, even when they are busy. The portions sizes are large enough to share.

I tried Rainbow China for the first time tonight. I took it to go, which was quick and easy.
An entrée comes with fried rice and an egg roll, for about $ 8. With a half order of the crab rangoon appetizer and one more egg roll, it was plenty to share between two people. In fact, we had a little left over! The price is hard to beat — and I saw they had even better lunch prices.

I have ordered from them several times and this will be the last. My beef w mushrooms didn’t have mushrooms I had to put soy sauce in my hot and sour soup to give it flavor they forgot the hot mustard I specifically asked for. For 20 $ I could have gotten much better food. Worst part was I call and ask to speak with a manager bc well again it was just wrong and I was told no bc she doesn’t speak English. Hello speaking to disgruntled customers is part of being a freaking manager. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. No more second chances for this dump!

I am not feeling good today. I thought ordering some soup from a Chinese restaurant would hit the spot. I called and was told the delivery driver wouldn’t be there for 30 minutes. No problem! They can have my food ready to send him oit the door when he arrives, except they won’t my order until the delivery driver arrives. Guess who won’t be getting any of my business?

unfortunately I didn’t think the lunch was much better than the chicken. I tried a different chicken dish (Mark’s chicken, which was recommended by the guy taking my order) and my husband ordered the chicken lo mein.
the service was fast and friendly, just wish the food tasted better. my hot and sour soup was kind of flavorless again and the chicken was a bit mushy. I was hungry and ate it, but would have no desire to order it again.
maybe it’s just my new dislike of Chinese food in general, but I’m just not a fan of Rainbow.
