By far the best phở in kansas city if you want a really good bowl of phở or vietnamese food. it is not the daintiest places if you are looking for 4 – 5 star service or atmosphere, expect non american service. Its the food that counts anyways right? the phở is delicious and I come here from now on even though i live two towns away.

I loved this place, however have switched to going to Phở Nguyen Grill as of recent. Love the husband and wife owned business, however the last couple of times that I’ve gone service was slow and the helpings were a little on the skimp side. Anyway, I’ll go whenever parking is not available at Phở Nguyen Grill. Decent place to go still for Phở.

I really enjoyed my meal. Service at lunch was fairly quick and a big bowl of delicious Phở was $ 8. I’ll definitely be back.

This is hands down the best phở place in KC. I regularly get their thin sliced beef phở and the broth and noodles are on par every time. They have pepper oil, hoisin, and sriracha a every table. The place looks a little run down from the outside but don’t let that deter you. The staff is typically friendly and the food is great. Don’t expect the service to be at your beck and call though. They will take your order, give you your food, and let you mind your business.

I’ll start off by saying this is the first time I’ve ever had phở and it was delicious! With the cold rainy weather lately, this was the perfect lunch. I got the beef phở, P1. The meat was delicious with the broth. I like spice so I added a jalapeño and some of the spicy oil. It was seriously so good, like I want to go and get it for lunch and dinner today.

Looks small from outside, little hole in the wall, inside is spacious and relatively clean. Nice service. Large phở menu… broth was devine. If you are a junkie this is a must. Highly recommend the roast pork and wonton phở.

I had the combination phở with beef balls and steak. Service was very fast and the phở was amazing. Broth had great flavor. I usually ask for extra noodle but didn’t need it. I also got the fried dumplings, not what I expected but still very good. The dipping sauce was great as well.

Best place for phở in Kansas City. I love the family business and personal atmosphere. Definitely recommend to anyone that is picky about Phở.

Beef phở was good but on the days I went but it was never sensational with a highly flavorful deep beef broth. However it’s way better than the Vietnam Café! The chicken wonton phở was excellent and their portions are fantastic, you can’t eat it all. Don’t get the spring rolls nor the egg rolls, not good. The big problem with this place is it’s very shabby. They really need to up grade this place inside.

The Phở Dac Biet is always my order but I plan to come back to try their various other vietnamese dishes such as the Hu Tieu! Their egg rolls are also delicious.

My favorite place to get phở in KC! If you are looking for a fancy place to take a date, this isn’t it. This is a laid back, hole in the wall place were you can get some good ol delicious comfort food without the high price tag. Would definitely recommend if you’re after a tasty meal.

Have been eating here for years. The broth is not too sweat, as is often the case for my tastes. Great shrimp rolls and quail. A hole in the wall in the best sense of the concept. Great start to a Saturday with friends and the way I found this place a long time ago. Definitely a bit out of the way but worth the trip.

I haven’t tried anything else but Bun Bo Hue, which is a bowl of noodle soup, with different flavoring than Phở. I’m Vietnamese and I give it my approval! I will come back.

Located in a rather shady area, no lie, but the restaurant itself just emits aura of authenticity. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by the waitress. The orders were quickly placed in because I was in the mood for some phở, and the wait began. Really can’t expect much out of the atmosphere of the place. Not much was put into the decoration of the place, but base on the demographics of the restaurant(majority being Asian), you really can’t go wrong since they will most likely eat at the most authentic place possible at the best price ^_^ When the phở arrived, I was so hungry that I immediately dived into my giant bowl of goodness. And dear god, I was in heaven. Every bite was increasingly appetizing, so much so that I ordered another bowl and cleared that one in record time(I eat a lot… a LOT. for my size) I have not have the chance to get anything else, but their phở definitely earned my seal of approval. A must try if you are looking for authentic bowl of delicious elixir of life.

So I’ve traversed through KC looking for the best Vietnamese Phở and I think this is it. Sure, it’s not the best looking décor but the service is good and the food is outstanding. I love Phở, my husband loves Phở so it’s actually a great date meal for us. I feel really bad admitting we let this happen but we asked if the lady could just put the broth and beef in the take-home container because the noodles go bad so quickly. Obviously we said, if it’s not easy it’s COMPLETELY fine to just put it all together and she said that was easy enough. That said, she added broth and meat(not from my meal) to our take-home cup because the lack of noodles. I told her«no no» you can just use my portion since I only ate half of it(LARGEPORTIONS) but she kept on what she was doing. I felt bad afterwards and will just sieve the noodles out on my own in the future. Regardless, it was incredibly nice of them to do something like that and not complain or look annoyed. Especially when the meal itself is so reasonably priced! This is clearly a family-run business who knows how to make Phở well. Lets keep it going!!!

I rate Phở KC as #1 phở in the KC area. Their phở broth is perfection. The cuts of meat are tender and what you would expect in the highest quality bowl of phở. I was disappointed to find on all occasions I’ve gone, they’ve always been out of che(Vietnamese ice’d dessert). The service is quick friendly, I’ve peeked in the kitchen and it’s clean although the building they are in is ancient. Bathroom is clean. I’ve also had their clear broth noodle soup which was very good. Their hours are strange. I think they open whenever they feel like it. I’ve gone during dinner hour and they are closed. But seem to be open for lunch hour.

Phở Tom is my favorite dish here. This is the Shrimp Phở. It is happiness in broth form in a huge bowl. It is salty and sweet. Nice big piece of Shrimp and tons of rice noodles. You get a plate full of basil and jalapenos and spouts that you can put in your broth to cook along with the Shrimp or Chicken or Beef or whatever you have in there. P13 the beef Phở is also amazing. The beef comes out raw and you put in the hot broth to cook. This is a favorite of several of my coworkers. They also soups with the thicker noodles and is perfect on a cold winter day or when you are just in need of a good soup. The wait staff is quick and keeps your glass full of water. After you have been there a few times they even know your usual order. This is a must stop for PHO.

Beef phở tasted very authentic and meaty; spring rolls tasted like they were made hours before. I was a bit appalled by how dirty this restaurant was. The swinging kitchen door had dark brown stains alongside the entire door. When I asked for a to-go container, a worker there brought me the typical plastic soup container– except it was wet, and oily on the inside. It seemed like there was already something inside and that they didn’t bother to take the time to wash the inside out and dry it. The lack of cleanliness of the restaurant completely turned me off. I will not be returning.

Phở KC has a very strong new fan in this Unilocaler. Now looking for an excuse to return. Stopped here on the way back from The Local Pig today wanting a delicious steaming bowl of Vietnamese goodness and was not disappointed. The venue itself is not particularly inviting and parking is all on a pretty busy street, but as they say, don’t let the exterior deter you from walking in the front door. Glad I did. My lunch was the pork bun and it’s easily the best I’ve had in KC. Plenty of crunchy sprouts and fresh vegetables, the meat was flavorful and the noodles cooked to perfection. As others have observed: a terrific broth, the secret to every great Vietnamese dish(my opinion). At the end of the meal I was not ashamed to tip to bowl up to the lips and drain every bit of the remaining broth. The dishes coming by in the busy restaurant are really inviting. Lots of crisp fresh vegetables, phở bowls, and of course the famous dish of sweet potato and shrimp. Felt Phở KC has a different edge missing from some Vietnamese competitors: fresher, more authentic and on the mark. Each table is full of condiments, extra chop sticks, spoons, etc. No pretense. Don’t come expecting a fancy restaurant. Come expecting a rock solid meal delivered promptly to you table. This meal made me really happy. Can wait to get back.

My coworker told me about this phở place. I ate lunch here by myself around 12:20pm. This place was not busy and it might have the location of the restaurant. I ordered a regular phở tai($ 6.85) while a large phở tai would be $ 8.85. I was surprised that it came out really quick and it was probably because everybody there was already eating(all 4 – 5 of them). The bowl itself was a good size and about the same size as the one in Vietnam Café. The meat tasted good and the broth was good to me as well. Just FYI, the Vietnamese guy who works here doesn’t understand a lot of English so it took awhile for me to pay. I think he helped me because the waitresses were busy. I’ll be back!
