This is the only place I will probably ever give 5 stars. I love soul food and this is my go to place when home. I live 25 min away and drive at least 2 times a week. I have had just about every item everything is always fresh and hot. From the salad bar to the dessert bar you will try everything. The Mac and cheese, delicious. Fried chicken seasoned perfectly. Greens, sweet potatoes, carrot cake all great. Absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting for eating in and take out is a breeze. The one draw back is that there food is so good you may have to wait some times. Looking for a great Sunday meal this is the place but expect a line.

Premier soul food spot that not overly expensive. Food has good flavor, everyone seems helpful and customer service is a top priority. I usually get the fried fish or chicken in which my opinion are both good and safe choices. Overall pretty good!

This place was GREAT, one of the best meals I have had in KC so far. Their special is a decent price, it was the first item on the specials list and it comes with 2 meats and 2 sides with a side of your choice of bread and a drink for $ 8.99. I got double order of fried catfish with mac and cheese, greens, and a piece of cornbread. It was ALLGOOD. The catfish wasn’t warm due to it sitting out with the other food, you’d probably have to catch that right when it’s off the fryer. But the food was so good I really didn’t care. I tried their gumbo which my friends got which was also good. I’m seriously going to be a regular at this place as long as I’m in KC. This is actually a little better than Roscoes Chicken and Waffles in Cali which is where I’m from and that was the spot. The service was good and it was very clean. It’s a shame it doesn’t have more recognition but I’m looking forward to checking out their buffet too. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a legit soul food restaurant!

We came here with a big group and the staff were extremely welcoming and attentive to our group. The food was fabulous, and we all loved the peach cobbler.

The food is pretty good. The meats on Sunday are: brisket, smothered pork chops, baked chicken, fried chicken and turkey. They ran out of brisket and the pork chops were not tender. Of course, the peach cobbler was good — too sweet, but good. The cashier moves slow. By the time we got to the table with our food, it wasn’t hot, but it was still good.

Don’t be fooled by the pictures this place is not that great. The portion are small a and the prices are high. I definitely had better soul food in the past.

Excellent soul food. We really liked the sweet potato bread. The side dishes and meats were prepared well. The staff was very courteous. You receive great value for the price.

A coworker friend suggested Peachtree when we were at a class for work together. I had never been but heard so much about this place. Not a big fan of cafeteria style but I have to say this was quite good and the staff are all warm and helpful. I had meatloaf and collard greens and mac and cheese which were all great. This is a place I will return to and bring the chessplayer. He would love it.

This kc staple is at the top of everyone’s list for southern food in these parts. Fast service, clean environment, fresh food and a very freindly staff have earned them a loyal patron in me for life. Love the location they inherited the bones of Papa Lews inside the Gates complex on 12th so if your in the neighborhood stop by. You can even purchase items ala carte. Go!

Great, traditional soul food! The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and very accommodating. The customer service is unlike any other restaurant nowadays. I shall return!

Simple but dice décor, clean, spacious, ample seating and parking, on bus line, friendly staff. It’s easy to get to from downtown. Lunch will run you around $ 10. The food certainly isn’t healthy, lots of fats, sugars, and starches, but it is tasty. It’s what you’d expect from a Midwestern and Southern hybrid. Food is cafeteria style layout. What’s up with the instant mashed potatoes? And for charging for drink refills? It was simple to talk them into not imposing the vegetarian tax, which is why they keep a decent rating despite the potatoes and drink. They agreed to count two vegetable sides as meats, making it into a meal instead of a la carte, saving $ 3. Perfectly reasonable request, but so frequently ignored at many places. The no drink refill was probably the most irritating part. Crunching ice to swallow the last bite of cornbread is not a refreshing end.

Took my Dad for Father’s Day today. We had two Sunday Specials(meat, two sides and a drink for $ 9.99): My Dad got Chicken wings w/side of corn and green beans. I had the catfish with mashed potatoes and cabbage. All delish except as a soul food restaurant you should have real potatoes not instant, that’s how they lost that last star. For dessert my Dad had the peach cobbler and for me the carrot cake — all very good! Good Job PeachTree. Go check it for great Soul Food in KC!
