Been a favorite place to go ever since I was a kid. Whenever a friend visits from out of state this is one of my staples to take them to. Portions are always pretty great even for the big eaters in our house and at $ 40 for 5 people I’m certainly not complaining. Everyone I know that’s lived in the area very long absolutely loves this place. It is certainly a must visit whether you’ve never been or are just in town temporarily.

Love the Double Cheeseburger Basket. Italian steak and pork tenderloin are great too. Choice place to go the day after a night of drinking.

Another solid choice if you happen to be in the Argentine district in KCK. Paul’s has great burgers, good fries, and other good offerings as well(sandwiches/chicken strips/etc). Hard to go wrong with almost anything here. Be aware that if it’s between 11:00AM-1:00PM, CALLYOURORDERINAHEADOFTIME. You will be glad you did, because they cook to order and it takes a good 15 minutes for them to put your meal together. Worth the wait!

The best cheeseburgers in town. This is not a big name fast food restaurant. It has been here ever since I can remember. If you are from the Dotte you know all about it.

OH-EM-GEE Paul’s is AMAZING! I’ve been going to Paul’s since I got my first car in high school and could explore KC with friends(the better part of a decade :-P). YUM. Every time I go I end up ordering the same thing but drool over the menu and other possibilities. SOMEDAY I’ll end up ordering something new and will probably love it as well, but to this day I am extremely satisfied with the regular cheeseburger and onion rings with a red cream soda. Paul’s doesn’t NEED great customer service. They have great food. :)

This is not health food, but it’s good food. Been going here for many years. Good greasy burger’s. I like the thick soft crust on onion rings.

Popular among locals. Food was great and cooked to order. No seating and several people waiting for their orders this Saturday.

I will probably catch flack for this review. I’m ok with that. Paul’s is a solid drive in. That’s it. They’ve got history, and I’m down with that. They’ve got their own ambiance as well. I’m down with that too. However, if it wasn’t for Paul’s location, good pricing, and regulars, I can’t imagine it doing very well. Here’s why: I got the cheeseburger basket with fries. There was nothing exceptional about the food. Standard burger dressing. A big bun, with a thin patty that was seemingly void of any flavor. Perhaps that was my mistake and I should’ve got a double. All I could taste was pickle, onion, mustard, and a hint of cheese. It’s not that these ingredients tasted bad. However, I must ask, where is the beef? It was hidden underneath all that bun and all those condiments, as if Paul’s was hiding something. Think a winstead sized patty(which I normally like) on a Grand stand sized bun. And the fries… People, you can make krinkle cut fries out of an ore-ida bag at home. I understand that many dives use them, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. Paul’s is no exception. As soon as I saw krinkle cut fries and tasted them, I was already wishing I just would’ve got a triple cheeseburger instead. Paul’s has good things going for it, and the food is not bad. However, it is no 5 star burger joint drive in. It’s too bad too, as places like these are getting harder and harder to find.

Actually, 1 star for customer service but 5 star for the food nd drink. Lots of my family members have lived in the Armourdale neighborhood where this joint has operated for over 35+ years. As far back as my memory goes(4yrs old) we frequented Paul’s and their now closed nd long time nemesis Eaton’s down the street from each other. I can remember $ 3 cheeseburger baskets with coke. Stopped in recently and not much has changed. The neighborhood is more hispanic than the once«white trashy» variety Armourdale once was(thanks to the old KCK meat packing plants). Regardless, Paul’s sits in a customer friendly neighborhood and you will feel more than safe venturing into the Armourdale district of KCK. First off, the employees will usually be grumpy and not in the mood for any BS or difficult behaving customers. Walk in and step to the side before walking up to the window to order. There is a menu in the window to read and it’s fairly straight forward. Ala carte or go the basket route. My recommendation is to always order your food as a basket. Burgers, burritos, tenderloins, taco salads, steak sandwiches, shrimp, grilled cheese, fires, onion rings, milk shakes, malts, sodas, and a whole bunch of other options. Warning: EVERYTHING is greasy greasy greasy… This is a once or twice a year type place to visit. Health reasons alone, I wouldn’t eat at Paul’s more than that. The quality and taste of the food is down right delicious. Dirty, but delicious never the less. The onion ring secret recipe is basically an onion dipped in pancake batter. Yes, pancake batter is the secret ingredient to their onion rings. Trust me, its taste really good. My go to basket is the double cheeseburger basket with a quart of Coke. Did I mention their soda’s have that old school sweetness form back n the day. Some of you know exactly what I’m referring to. Their soda just have a different taste to them. Maybe it’s the greasy feeling styrofoam cups they serve the drinks in. Or, maybe it’s that good old fashioned crushed ice that pairs perfectly with the drink. Don’t sleep on their milk shakes. All milkshakes use«real» ice cream and are a real treat. They are skimpy on napkins and ketchup so ask for extras at your own risk. Oh, they use Hunts ketchup(maybe its Heinze) in the little packets which are hard to get nowadays. Hunts ketchup just has a more robust flavor than most ketchup on the market now. Also, don’t even think about stopping in around lunch time. Advise would be to call your order in ahead of time. Another thing, don’t be surprised if your clothes smell like hamburger grease all day after visiting Pauls Drive In. It comes with the territory and nothing you can do about it.

This place has been around forever. I haven’t been in many years but last Sunday, I decided I needed a mega grease fix. The first thing that hit my mind, was Paul’s. It’s tucked into the end of a triangle of streets. I think Osage is one and Argentine Boulveard is the other. It’s just a drive-in and not a drive– through. That’s right people. You have to get out of your car and walk inside up to the window. No car hops and no screens to talk into. You can smell the homey smell of old grease the minute you walk in. The lady taking orders was very friendly. There were three ladies in there. Two of them who were cooking didn’t look very happy. One was propped up on some boxes cooking away kind of looking at me with the spatula in her hand like she wanted to come over and smack me with it. The other one was bent over the grill and she glanced at me with a disgusted look… so, if you’re looking for ambience and enthusiasm? This ain’t the place. What it is, is a piece of history. The way they used to make tenderloins, burgers, Italian steaks, in the old days. And thank goodness for it. The people work hard in a greasy, steamy, hot environment and I’ll bet it is pure hell in the summer but… their finished products are junk food masterpieces… like an explosion of magic grease, splattering all over the sky wafting out a plethora of tongue-tingling flavors and aromas and scents that will send your nose into a sensory ecstacy. Now, you have to wait for this stuff. It’s not sitting under lamps getting soft and spongy. It’s cooked to order and it takes a few minutes. I ordered a pork tenderloin basket which is a nice sized pork tenderloin sandwich not those thin, overly crispy, practically meatless things that are twice the size of the bun and taste like a sandwich made of hot pork rinds… no, this tenderloin actually has meat in it and it sit regally, in the bun, slathered with mustard and mayo and shredded lettuce and onion. OMG! It’s almost too much to describe. I’m getting aroused. Just a minute… let me compose myself… Ok, included in the basket are the standard greasy fries and 3 or 4 of the battered onion rings that are so necessary for making a true«basket». Listen, I got this gastronomic orgy home and I worshipped it for about ½ hour, savoring each deliciously greazy bite. I couldn’t finish it. I had to leave some of the fries. I think I may have sucked down too much Coca Cola because I was a bit dehydrated. I can usually finish a basket. I’m glad we still have places like Paul’s. I’ll be back.

I have a lot of great memories at Paul’s dating back almost 20 years now. A lot has changed in the world over those 20 years, but going to Paul’s is always a trip back in time. The only certain things in life are death, taxes, and that a meal at Paul’s will be a tad greasy and delicious.

If your needing a fix of vitamin G(grease), Paul’s has it in the best of ways. They have been sacking up some of the best burgers, fries, and onion rings for years. I like their malts also.

I like this place. The fries are amazing. I can never finish a cheeseburger basket cause their hamburgers are big. This place has been there since dinosaurs walked the earth. If you like the hole in wall Drive-In this is the place to go. I always call my orders in to go because they are always busy.

Paul’s Drive In is fantastic. They cook there food with onions and it is so good. The fries are great but the onion ring could be better. The only problem I have with this place is that the staff is a little rude but don’t guess they care if you like them or not.
