Just came in for lunch, bathe owner says they are closing June 16th, not enough business, that’s too bad because they are really really good.

I just tried them and they are not too bad. The Sweet Potato Roll was pretty yummy. It’s a really small place with only like 2 people working there, so I would recommend calling in if you are taking it to go. Other wise if you walk in you will wait for about 10 mins.

Came in here randomly because it was close to my apartment. Just 2 people working, one rolling, one serving. Considering the majority of the menu was less than $ 7 per serving it was good. I will frequent this place more often. Server was good, he asked us our opinion of the miso soup because he had been adjusting the salt content(decreasing it). It was good soup

I was hesitant to try this place, but I was wrong. Good prices, friendly staff, and good food. Would definitely go back.

This is a place I really want to love. I need to say up front that this is a 3 star rating based upon only a single experience, but we’re not sure that we want to give them a second try. The staff was very friendly and that helped, and we love the location. However, we found the sushi to be «just okay», and overall flavorless and bland. Being parents of young children, we rarely have the opportunity to get out, and were looking for sushi. Unfortunately our experience there did not give us our«fix». I think that we ordered 3 rolls and a sea weed salad, and paid about $ 40, and left hungry. That was a first for us, as we find sushi to be very filling. However, we thought the rolls were very small. Like about half the size we are accustomed to, and while I am one who believes that you get what you pay for so I certainly don’t want cheap sushi, we also rarely drop that much money on lunch for two. Especially when you consider the overall dining experience including the look of the place. Overall, it was just an experience that left much to be desired. I am giving them 3 stars because I do not wish to hurt their business w/a low rating, but we’ve had much better.

I’m giving this place 3 stars with the hope of coming back soon and giving it 4. I recently just started working right down the street and have driven past this lil’ po’ dunk looking place for weeks now. With a name like ‘Party Sushi’ and it’s location, my husband said it best as we drove past: «That looks like the kind of place YOU would eat sushi at». It’s true. I love sushi and will eat it anywhere. I’ve been blessed with iron stomach. In fact, I actually LIKE Price Chopper’s sushi… but there is nothing like the fresh stuff and Party Sushi’s stuff was really good. The menu is very simple, but they have a lot of unique rolls which is my love. I went with the Party Sushi Roll(It should be illegal to NOT order a roll named after the restaurant. I mean… that has to be their signature, right?) and a tuna roll with an order of dumplings. All of the food was fantastic. My co-workers really liked their rolls as well. Additionally, this place is absolutely totes adorable. It reminded me of a lot of places I actually visited overseas because it is just 3 tables, a tv and the sushi counter. That’s it. When you dine here, you more or less have to interact with everyone in the restaurant. that’s why despite the looong wait for sushi, I still had a really enjoyable time. We were the first people in, but as soon as we walked in a group of 2, a single guy and a carry out order walked in. There was only the owner working and since everything is made to order, it took, well forever. I ordered at 11:20 and didn’t get my order until 11:55, meanwhile my co-workers were done eating. Yikes. But the whole time the guy was chatting us and the rest of the place up. The other customers were clearly regulars and they even commented on how busy it was compared to normal. At noon, a 2nd employee showed up. I think he just had shorter hours because of NYE?.. then again this place as 3 tables. it never gets THAT busy. Anyway, the wait was long so I can’t NOT mention it… you might want to be careful if you just have a lunch hour… BUT this is a solid little local joint with a super friendly owner!

We are from out of state and have been to many sushi restsurants, we looked at Unilocal for a sushi place and decided to try Party Sushi. Compared to many metropolitan sushi restaurants, Party Sushi has really great and fresh food!!! CC

Awesome sushi. You have to try the crab salad and squid salad. Owner is delightful and a fun guy. Definitely will visit this place again. Thumbs up!

For starters, the best part about this place is that they deliver. A high-quality sushi place that delivers? Dangerous. The rolls are a bit on the smaller side, but the sushi is fresh, and you can even watch the chef make your rolls.(That is, IF you come in.) I like that they have an option to build-your-own-roll of sorts, too. Oh, and try their miso. It’s quite tasty! Its an unexpectedly great sushi place that I will be frequenting.

Food quality was good. Service was alright. Portion sizes were smaller than other sushi bars, which explains the lower price. Probably won’t come back, but wasn’t bad.

Sketchy strip mall notwithstanding, this place is wonderful! The staff are friendly and the sushi is fantastic. The Lee’s Summit roll was our favorite — there’s something about fried sushi that is just awesome. Crispy, spicy, perfect. And the prices are reasonable for what you get. The boyfriend and I split five rolls and a couple of pieces of nigiri and were stuffed by the end of the night. This place gets bonus points for letting us stay well after closing and affording us a great people-watching experience sitting next to a group of joyful, plenty-drunk gentlemen speaking slurred Korean, who were trying to get their friend to try a raw roll. The chef joked with us, «This is the only Asian who doesn’t eat raw fish!» This place has character. We’ll be back!

I’m a huge fan of this place after just one visit! I can even see the future where I change this to a 5 star review. First of all, The Hubby and I just ate the best egg roll of our lives. Better than his Aunts homemade lumpia. They were fan-freaking-tastic. The spicy mayo dipping sauce is truly spicy AND yummy. We also ordered a cali roll(our checking-out-a-new-place staple) and a spicy scallop roll. Wow, they were great. When this place says spicy they mean it so you won’t be disappointed. The place is tiny, yes, but packed at 8:30pm We saw the kitchen bring out 2 huge platters full of fresh cooked crawfish and our eyes about popped! We wondered if it was a family/friends/off the menu kind of thing or what so Hubby asked. Turns out they do a $ 7 per pound steamed crawfish on Fri/Sat nights. WHAT?! We are so going back for that! We also learned that they will deliver to us(near the QT at 152 and N. Oak) if we order at least $ 40 worth. That’s a challenge I will gladly accept. I can’t wait to try their fried rice and other rolls. Don’t let the location fool you. This place is legit.

I come here often because it is close to my apartment. I always get the sashimi combo that comes with 16 – 18 piece of sashimi. I’m always happy with the quality of the fish and the combination of sashimi the sushi chef comes up with. The rolls are fairly priced and tasty.

Disclaimer: The following review contains no critique whatsoever of Party Sushi’s sushi. Sorry, but for me, fish is great. If you cook it. That being said, in the name of quality mother-daughter time with the kid I hardly ever see anymore, I was lured into Party Sushi with the promise of Crawfish Fried Rice. Still withdrawing from the trip to NOLA, I couldn’t resist. It was really good, well seasoned and studded with a generous portion of little mudbug tails and vegetables. We shared an order of three small spring rolls, hot, crispy and fresh out of the deep fryer. Again, really good. This place is tiny and unassuming, hidden away in a small strip of shops on an unglamorous stretch of North Oak Trafficway. There are maybe 3 tables and a few seats at the bar, but they were doing good carryout business the day we were there. The one server we saw was very friendly and had a quirky sense of humor. Carrie almost talked me into trying a sweet potato roll, but I figured the fried rice would be plenty(it was). So maybe I’ll be writing an update on the sushi one day. Just don’t expect to hear about the spicy tuna roll.

A fantastic spot for Sushi and quite literally the best Fried Rice in town. I was amazed to find out of this tiny establishment the most friendly Sushi Master and a very pleasant waiter. Ordered the Crawfish Fried Rice and was disappointed that I couldn’t eat it all in one seating! It was wonderful! All of the Sushi was fresh. I ordered Salmon, Tuna, Octopus, and Halibut. Looking forward to my next trip to sample the Tuna Avocado Salad! Thanks so much for opening such a great restaurant in the North KC area!

I found this place by literally googling sushi places in KCMO. I found the website and saw how close it was to me and had to try it. The first time I came here, I had the spicy scallop roll, yellowtail roll, and the sweet potato roll, my boyfriend had the spicy maki entrée(spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and dynamite roll). The Spicy Maki entrée was delish! My boyfriend is a spice fiend and thought it was perfect, I have a low tolerance for heat, but it was so good I kept coming back for more(stealing a piece whenever I could) My sweet potato roll was wonderful and reminded me of a wonderful Vietnamese dish. If you like scallop and can handle spicy, I suggest this roll, the texture is all there! and the yellowtail was fresh and firm. I have been here quite a bit, my boyfriend and I have made this our new sushi place! We have tried basically all the rolls, and each being better than the last. The Hot Night Roll(fried) is wonderful! The Diakon Roll is one of my boyfriend’s favorite! I have tried their Tuna Avocado salad, which was perfection. I recently tried the crawfish fried rice, and can I say… wonderful, it’s the main fried rice that everyone has come to know, but the Cajun season crawfish is a nice little bite that really surprises your taste buds. The staff is awesome, the sushi chef is funny, and is very entertaining. I brought my friend Carrie, to this place and I believe she liked it too, you can read her review. They do delivery with a purchased of 25 $ ORMORE, but that is very easy if you love sushi as much as I do. Give it a try.

What an unexpected spot for a sushi place! My friend Michelle tried Party Sushi before I did, and never steering me in the wrong direction, asked me to go to lunch with her last Friday. Inside, the restaurant is small. With 3 – 4 barstools, a sushi prep station and about 4 tables, there isn’t a whole lot of room for a big party. The décor is simple but suiting for the small space, and the sushi chef and waiters definitely keep you entertained while you eagerly await your meal. For my first trip, I ordered the egg rolls to start off, and tried the Lee’s Summit roll and the Rainbow roll(I think). The wait for my meal wasn’t too long, but regardless, it was well worth it. The egg rolls were piping hot, straight from the fryer, and served with a simple spicy mayo for dipping. The Lee’s Summit roll was fried, so it was hard for me not to like it to begin with. It was similar to a philadelphia roll with a little something added to it. Delicious! And the Rainbow roll was a classic that I’ve always enjoyed, no matter where it’s from. The fish was fresh and full of flavor and wasn’t fishy or mushy in the slightest. On my next trip(literally, the next day!), I decided to try the tuna and avocado salad with the sweet potato and the daikon rolls. Let me start of by saying this: I love raw tuna. The texture, the flavor, the variability. It’s perfect. So this salad was perfect. Tons of cubes of raw tuna, avocado, cucumber and a fantastic sesame style sauce, and I have died and found my own nirvana. This is a definite must! The price is a little steep when you look at the menu, but I PROMISE — it’s worth every penny. The sweet potato was a pleasant surprise — simple and understated, made with fried sweet potato and eel sauce — but delicious! A good roll for beginners, I’m sure. The daikon roll was incredible. Yellowtail, salmon I think, and tuna maybe? With cucumber and wrapped in pickled radish, I was definitely in love with this. Fresh, crisp and perfectly seasoned with a little bit of light soy sauce, this roll is easily my favorite item here yet. I can’t wait to make yet another return trip to Party Sushi! Especially being so close to home! (and don’t get me started on how they deliver too!)

Tried this place on a whim since I wanted an in-home date with my boyfriend. Heres what we thought: The philadelphia roll was good, pretty much as expected, but then again it’s a hard roll to mess up. The spicy tuna roll and the spider roll were alright. The dynamite roll is not worth ordering, and we didn’t even try to finish it, kind of bland. However, the las vegas roll was the gem of our order. I wish we had ordered two, because it was amazing! But overall, this place is typical missouri sushi. The added convenience of delivery is going to keep me coming back though! Took them about 30 minutes to deliver to my apartment.
