Solid za, very busy on a Friday night but definitely worth the wait, had the meat lovers. Didn’t want it to end. Very causal ambiance and not a huge beer selection. Would be a great place for carry out as well.

Saw the awesome reviews for Leo’s on here so a couple friends and I made the trek from Lee’s Summit. I can say by the silence at the table once the pizza arrived and we started eating, it was great. St Louis style, thin crust, provel cheese. The provel cheese is a nice change of pace from every other pizza place out there. We ordered a meat lovers, lots of ingredients and I LOVED the sausage! I liked it so much I got a small pepperoni to go to eat on the rest of the weekend. Went on a Saturday night around 7. Found a place to sit, but the place is small, plan accordingly. Biggest complaint is the price. But it never bothers me with family owned places like this. They aren’t a corporation pizza company and I don’t mind supporting them. It was 32 bucks for a large meat lovers and 3 drinks. I WILL be back!

Leo’s has been a part of our family tradition for over 30 years. It is my favorite pizza in Kansas City. In my opinion it beats kindly’ sand Stone Canyon. The reason being the proven cheese. Their are only so many suppliers of the cheese and Leo’s is one of the few restaurants that acquire it in KC. My favorite pizza is hamburger olives and mushrooms extra cheese. It is to die for and I don’t even like olives. The olive juices permeate the cheese for a very favorable and unique taste. They have an excellent salad as well. I’ve heard from many people that Leo’s is an acquired taste but out of towers I have taken here have all liked it hands down. Visit and enjoy.

By far the best kept pizza secret in Kansas City! They’ve been rocking the northland for over 40 years now! While Leo himself has passed on, it’s still very much a family run business! You have to like super thin(some would say st louis style) crust… But it’s all about the provel cheese baby! It’s their own special blend of provolone, white cheddar and Swiss! Rich and creamy! And addictive! But be wary! When they deliver fresh out of the oven, it’s as dangerous as napalm! So give it a chance to cool down! The location is very packed, cozy, but workable… And they do serve alcohol on site too. They do delivery, but only to the people lucky enough to live within a three-ish mile radius. they prefer cash for deliveries too… Call ahead and hit up ! go to coupons /food /Leo’s and print yourself a coupon for any of their three sizes. REMEMBERTOBRINGITAFTERMENTIONINGITWHENYOUORDERYOURTAKEOUT! They enforce it and won’t give you the discount if you don’t bring it! INANYEVENT, it’s the tastiest pizza I’ve had in the Kc area, and in my somewhat lingering lifespan! You’ll not regret it!

The pizza is amazing. The provel is almost like an extra later of Alfredo before cheese. It’s way better than IMO’s. It’s absolutely delicious. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the atmosphere. No draft beer, small place. Get this pizza!

We arrived about 45 minutes before closing, after following a Unilocal lead to Leo’s. We were greeted by friendly staff who told us it may take 30 minutes to get our pizza, given that they are made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Facing a wait, we ordered a small salad that was so adorned with provolone cheese that, on most days, could have serve as my lunch! By the time my pizza arrived, perhaps 25 minutes, I wasn’t very hungry but my mate and I managed to eat ½ of a medium. The pizzas are quite well adorned with toppings — not stingy — which worked well with the StL style thin crust. About half way through our meal one of the workers came by in, what I’ve learned, the founder’s manner to talk to us about how things were. Being pleased with the food, I asked questions about Leo and SHEKNEWTHEHISTORYOFTHEMANANDHISFAMILY. WELOVEDTHIS! I will return with greater hunger!

I never had or heard of St. Louis Louis style pizza before moving to Kansas City last year. I can honestly say I wasn’t too thrilled by the description from a friend but then I tried Leo’s and I was sold. Amazing pizza, simple menu and quick service.

Provel cheese makes this pizza unique. The cheese is runny and flavorful and blends the ingredients into yumminess on crunchy homemade crust. I like Leo’s MUCH better than Imo’s, which is a St Louis chain famous for using Provel. The salad is delicious with a lightly sweet vinegarette, Provel, black olives, and pepperoni. Mini sized lunch pizzas are a great deal.

2 words… provel cheese! This is the secret to their amazing pizza. The signature blend of cheese adds a unique flavor that is only found at Leo’s Pizza. I love the cracker thin crust which they slice into squares. There is NEVER a wasted slice! Leo’s is in a small space at a strip mall and seating can be hard to find. I have always eaten there but there is always tons of people picking up «to go» orders. Oh! Get the salad before you eat too! Love the little salads that come with the provel cheese, pepperoni and black olives. The Italian dressing is the best! It is made in house and yummy!

I heard of Leo’s thru Unilocal… tried it and it was pretty good… not the best. The cheese is very different and rich. for a person who eats a paleotic diet eating that kind of cheese about killed me. The crust was ok. too hard but the pizza was good!

OH MY GAWD. My mouth waters when I think of this place. I really miss St. Louis style pizza and Leo’s is the absolute best in KC hands down. The pizza is always delicious gooey and I end up eating way too much. The folks that run the place are super friendly and all around good folks. I can’t wait to come home to KC for Christmas and visit my old favorites. Leo’s is at the top of the list.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. On the strength of previous Unilocal reviews I decided to try Leo’s. Upon arriving to a sparsely filled dining area I placed my pizza order and asked for a glass of wine. The wine(normal price $ 5 glass) was a sweet cheap house red that I imagine cost $ 7 a bottle. It was drinkable but way overpriced for the caliber. After nursing the pour for 30 minutes it was almost depleted. The server asked if I wanted another. Incredibly I responded Yes mostly because I didn’t want to have to choose an alternative and was really hoping to enjoy wine with the meal. After 60 min the second glass was gone. Still no sign of pizza. Luckily I didn’t have to inquire, the server brought a third glass of wine; explained there has been a kitchen snafu; said all the wine was on the house and my pizza would be out shortly. Around the 90 minute mark my pizza finally arrived. All 3 glasses of wine now truly into my bloodstream on an empty stomach, I really didn’t care anymore! In all fairness the pizza *was* quite good once it got there(either that or I was too drunk to care). I had it with water as I had reached my limit. ;-) Finally once finished, the bill arrived. Not only had they Comp’d the wine but also gave me 50% off the pizza as well. This was all without me having to say a single word, which is impressive. So although it was an excruciating wait, I give them credit for their customer service awareness and remediation without prompting. Given that I’ll definitely give them a second chance in the future. Next time I’ll invite my friend Mr. Dickens.

My favorite pizza by far! Love their cheese and I’ve never been disappointed here! Their cheese is called Provel, which is a mix of Provolone, Cheddar, and Swiss, which are three of my favorite cheeses. I usually get a pepperoni, jalapeño and mushroom medium, and it’s divine from Leo’s!(Their medium is the equivalent of a large in most pizza stores.) The only thing I could suggest is maybe more fun and updated décor, but I love the pizza, and that’s what really counts.

To me, this is the L.C.‘s Hamburgers of pizza places — and folks in Kansas City, especially the northland, will know that I mean that as the highest compliment. Untouched by time, uncompromising, as good as it ever was — and I hope they never, ever update the interior. If you aren’t already aware of it, then research St. Louis style pizza before eating here so you know what to expect. A transplant from Iowa, I had no experience with the style and therefore no preconceptions, and I loved every bite of it. Personally I find that the Provel cheese delivers enough of a flavor on its own that you need no more than a couple of toppings at most. I’ve since moved to Connecticut, an area with its own rich pizza history, but I’ll always have a place in my heart for Leo’s(and the St. Louis style in general). It’s a gem.
