Still a great place to eat. Service is always good. I am a regular because of the consistency. Mix the hot and mild salsa for a really nice medium salsa

Worst experience. Don’t have liquor in stock that is on menu. Esther came out to apologize about the bar drink menu inconsistencies. Wants our business. But didn’t comp our cheese dip and two Sierra mists. Nail in the coffin. You are dead to my family, Jose peppers.

I’m sorry, but I almost could not eat my food here. The fajitas were not palatable and the only thing I enjoyed was the spinach cheese dipping sauce. My boyfriend ordered tacos and hated them. This never happens. The service was reprehensible, with the waitress ignoring us while we were eating hot food and getting thirsty as a result. We finally had to flag down a waiter to assist us. I think they have a strange concept for their waiters and waitresses, as I never knew who to ask for what. How about just one waiter/waitress per section and table? Yeah, that works for most places, I’ve found. The food here is Tex Mex, but it’s pretty bad Tex Mex, no flavor, almost tastes blande, which is incredibly weird for Mexican food. I can recommend some other places in the area that are much, much better.

This isn’t really Mexican food. More like Tex Mex. The only good thing here is their Espinaca Dip — if you come here just order that, fill up on chips, maybe order a margarita, then leave. The only dishes in the place worth eating are just smothered in the Espinaca. I really don’t see how people eat here outside of lunch breaks from work.

The«team» concept they use for waiters is a poor decision in my mind. One guy takes your order, another drops chips & salsa off, a third brings your drinks, and someone else brings the food from the kitchen. Every one of them asks, «Is there anything else I can get you?» and if you give them something, they disappear never to be seen again. I always ask for HOT salsa for the chips. I’ve gotten to the point that I ask 3 people, and if they still don’t bring it, I wander into the kitchen myself to go get it. That usually gets someone’s attention. It’s unfortunate you have to resort to this. There is ONE good waitress in the place. We will sit and wait if her section is full, just to get seated with her. The food’s decent. Wish they’d kept the Steak & Goat Cheese towers(they’re now Steak & Jalapeño Crème Chese). Deep fried tacos are good, if a bit greasy. Poco Pollo Magnifico is always a safe bet — have them add some bacon bits to flavor up the chicken a bit.

Service: AWFUL Food: AWFUL RUDENESS: Nailed it CHAOS: Nailed it Stopped by for lunch with a coworker; took about 5 minutes to get seated(nobody standing at hostess desk). Once we were sat we ordered water(shouldn’t take long, right? WRONG) Our waitress didn’t introduce herself and was very short when taking our order. It took over 20 minutes to get our food(a burrito and chimichanga). There were three tables that sat down about 10 minutes AFTER us that got their food BEFORE us. While we were waiting, the manager decided she would get involved and I’m still not sure if she was the issue or if the staff just didn’t know what the heck they were doing or both. Our plates were too hot to touch, but our food was barely warm(who knows how long it had been sitting back in the kitchen)! We asked for our checks as soon as we got our food because we were now running a little behind and I wish I would have waited to pay because after taking one bite I wouldn’t have paid for my food! It was absolutely disgusting! I set my plate on the edge of the table and another waitress came by and grabbed it, not even asking if everything was ok or if she could try and fix something! Just plain rude, every single one of them in there! except for the poor guy who was in training(day 1 by the look on his face)! Will never be going back!

After a doctor’s appt in the area on Cinco De Mayo, I decided to head over here with my mom and baby girl for lunch. I just ordered a grilled chicken salad, but it was really surprisingly good. My mom enjoyed her tacos as well. The servers who worked with us were very kind, friendly and accommodating. I don’t know when I’ll be back in this area of town any time soon, but if I am I would definitely return!

My wife and I go here about twice a month. The service is always responsive. The staff works on a team concept and I think this is a bonus. More eyes are on your table so they are quick to respond for refills, removing plates, etc. The fajitas are usually the route we go and they’ve always been enjoyable. Most times my wife and I will split an order because of the size. My daughter enjoys going because she knows she can score Teddy Grahams and a balloon. I wish they would mix uo their specials more often. They’ve been running the same one for quite a while. It’s a creamy jalapeño chicken and its tasty but I’m ready for something else. Again, friendly staff, observant management and timely service. Great place for the family.

The food was nothing special at all. Very bland and didn’t get a lot for the money. Service was good and it was a nice atmosphere, but the food was probably the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had though.

We had date-night at the NW Barry location. I couldn’t check in because their customer wi-fi is too weak to make a connection. It was our 1st time there. Our«waiter» was Luiz. He started to offer free Espiñaca, but I told him we had a coupon for it. We also ordered chips & salsa. Along with their in house margaritas. The bar service is SLOOOWWWWW! We were ½ way thru the chips before the drinks got there. Our order was simple, my partner had a bean & cheese burrito, I had 2 cheese & onion enchiladas. The food was good. The service lousy! We saw the actual waiter 3 times, 1st to get the order, 2nd he checked if the food met our approval(I had to remind him that I ordered sides of sour cream & pico de gallo), then to get the money. The back-up staff was GREAT! Makes ya wonder why the waiter is even there. The food proportion is totally great! Well presented, and seasoned! If they could only get the service up to par, I’d go back.

I remember the first time I came here I always either got tacos or burritos and one day the server asked me what do I like? I was a little confused because I rarely try something new because I’m picky at times. After a short discussion she asked me to try the Chicken and Avocado Enchilada. I have to admit it was delicious and I order it just about every time I go there. I love bringing friends there to eat mainly because it’s the best there is out North :-)

Well, I’ve come to the suburbs kicking and screaming. Was not looking forward to all of the«chains» that are up north and have been missing some of my favorites– ex: Jalapenos in Brookside! Despite the fact that it’s a chain, we have turned into regular customers and it’s pretty good! 99 cent(or maybe 1.50 now?) espinaca can’t be beat! Also, hubby and I can split a meal and they add on another portion of rice and beans for only 99 cents! We’re a fan!

I visited Jose Pepper’s on recommendations from pretty much my entire family. I expected the normal«chain» sit-down restaurant food and service. The chips and spinach dip were very good — but that’s where the good food stopped. I tried something more traditional, and the boyfriend had the Monterey Chicken Burrito. I was extremely unimpressed with the quality of the traditional food and did not each much of it. The waiter, who was very polite, sent a manager over without my even mentioning anything. The manager proceeded to take my food off the bill and give us a 15% discount on the rest of the bill. Great customer service — and I would return to try something different.

5 star waiter service 3 star slow slow bar service 3 – 4 star food 4 star margarita 4 star portion size I’ve only eaten there once, but I will come back next time I am in town visiting the inlaws. I had guacamole app. very good. cheesedip/spinich/pepper dip app. Very Good, and The special(Jalapeño chicken chimmichanga) good. Wife shared my apps and got the sampler which she liked, but didn’t really love. Everyone elses looked good.
I will return even after the wife had her meal packed to go the server put trash on the plate and unconsciously still packed it to go. I truly believe the manager was in shock her eyes grew with OMG that did NOT happen here. She apologized 7 times and made a fresh plate to go. Hey I will agree some need more triaining than others, The food is always good and hot. When I rate the place I always take into account that most restaurants that are on here are not 5 Star. If this were a 5 star I would have ripped the server a new one asking if he just left Denny’s but you have to agree the results were fair and when you hire aspiring servers sometimes things go wrong. I find the review funny that says it should be a parents choice to give the Teddy Grahms to your child… UH it us, Just because that is the Standard fare for here you always have the choice to remove them…

I wanted to try something new so went to Jose Pepper’s this evening. The place has been newly remodeled and is very nice inside. I noticed immediately that the floor was dirty with chips, a knife, straw and napkins, a big turn off. The staff was very friendly and attentive, they work as a team. We went with our three year old and much to my horror with his coloring page and crayons came a package of teddy graham’s. That should always be a parents choice if the kiddies are given junk food, not the restaurants. The food was very average, the chips and salsa were the highlight of the dinner. My husband had fajitas, the onion and bell peppers were raw and the chicken looked like it came from sysco. My plate was an entire cheese blob that was completely unrecognizable as Mexican food. Overall, I would not recommend because of the food.
