This is my first Unilocal review ever, but I deem Head House, and particularly Jason, worthy of a great review. When I moved to KC, I played it safe with my haircuts. I was always nervous about not only texturally, could someone handle the curl, but, I also wanted something different and easy to style. I needed something that fit my personality while also allowing me to look acceptable and approachable to many different personalities (I am a server). Jason is a true artist! He takes the time to understand what you want, while realizing that my/​your hair is a part of his calling card. This is the second time I have been in there, I mentioned I had wanted to try an undercut, but for obvious reasons, as a server, you wait on a lot of conservative types, and the last thing I want to do is alienate my guests. Jason hit the nail on the head! Subtle, easy to style, but if styled right, daring and whimsical! Bravo, good sir, bravo!

Moved and needed a good haircut. Got Jason for a men’s haircut and he did a great job. Very friendly, professional and high attention to detail. Would recommend to anyone, one if not if the best haircut I’ve had in a long time.

Shannon is the best. I absolutely love this place. I decided 6 months ago to grow out my natural silver hair. The transition has been so much fun and I feel beautiful. I would recommend this salon to anyone. Everyone is very professional and in the know about new trends and technics.

When I moved to Kansas City I was so nervous about finding a place that could create the hair that I imagined in my head. Head House was recommended to me and it was the greatest blessing ever. Brook is a true gem and blessing to the salon world. Her talent is beyond words. She has made my blue hair look better than I could have ever imagined. I will never be able to thank her enough.

Consistently the best haircuts of my life. I’m not just talking haircuts I get complimented on by my mom or coworkers — although I do and they’re nice — I’m talking about haircuts where sassy women shout compliments to me from their cars as I cross the street or fabulous boys remark on as they ring me up for coffee. I’m talking about haircuts so good that 6 weeks later I’m STILL getting complimented like my hair just got did. Jason. Is. The. Best. His consultations are thoughtful and his technique is impeccable. If you love his haircut and want it again & again, he can do it — something I’ve found infuriating with other stylists in the past. I trust him implicitly and when I wanna switch it up, I know he’s got some great suggestions that will actually work on me, not make me look ridiculous. I was recently a hair model for Aveda colour class there and I got amazing lilac highlights. We discussed what the upkeep would cost and I was surprised how reasonable their prices were. It was pretty adorable the way everyone in the class hung around to see one anothers’ reveals because we were all having so much fun together and everyone looked amazing. The cherry on the sundae though is how much fun I have every time I go. By the time I leave, Jason & I are usually in tears and my cheeks hurt from laughing. I didn’t just discover a great salon, I made an awesome new friend. Seriously, he’s a doll and you’ll be so happy he cut your hair. Just ask the lady who shouted at me this morning.

I love this salon so much. I’ve been really lucky to work with some great stylists in Kansas City and Brook is among the best of them. She’s talented, smart, creative and kind. The staff is fantastic and the space is gorgeous. I can’t recommend them enough. I’ve found my perfect salon and I couldn’t be happier.

I have been to Head House Hair parlor 3 times. I was planning to become a regular at the salon because Brooke did an amazing and excellent job the first time I got full highlights and concealed impeccably all the brassy tones that I had from previous hair dyes.
I went back again to get a root touch up to match the color that I had done before but unfortunately it was darker then the previous color. I was very disappointed and decided to pay in condition to come back again next week and get the color fixed. The third time I went back there my hair was actually ruined! I have had people asking me if I have shaved parts of my hair because is just too light! Brooke was such in a hurry to get to the next client did not even apologize or admit this time that it is obviously way too light.
Bottom line is I will not go back there and I do not recommend someone to go to get their hair done.
I guess Brooke lucked out the first time, but to be completely fair, every one is nice and friendly but if you want to get something done right I would not recommend trusting Brooke too much.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I wait to go somewhere more than twice before I rate a 5 star… but Head House is as close as it comes! The décor/​salon is super cute. The stylists are all super down to earth and nice. It’s such a friendly place! Brooke did an awesome job listening to my needs and doing exactly what I wanted! I had a color and high light and it was very pretty! Brooke took a lot of time styling my hair afterwards which is always nice! Did I mention they made me organic tea while I was in the chair… so relaxing! I recommend Head House and Brooke (stylist-​owner) to anyone! …and for all of you men out there my boyfriend gets his hair cut here also and it always looks great!

I like switching up going to new places every so often. I’m glad I did. I really like Head House Hair Parlour and really like Brook.
The salon is quirky. There is plenty of art to look at while getting your ‘do did. The modern equipment is stylishly mixed with art and antiques. With all the fixtures to look at, Head House is definitely NOT smoke and mirrors. Brook knows her craft and brings it while being funny and friendly. She listened to me both visits and followed through. I went back to my natural darker blonde with great success.
A huge plus, the prices are very reasonable especially for an Aveda salon. I am really happy with my hair and will definitely stick around.

Really classy and eclectic place. They offer unique treatments executed by masters of the craft and artists alike. Jason (thispunkcancut) did it up right, per usual. I am pretty sure I get my hair done with him just so I can hang out with that cool dude… and bonus: he’s quite talented.

I haven’t received a hair cut and color that made me cry with joy until today. I have spent 3 years and numerous dollars trying to find a hairdresser since moving to KC. Brooke did an amazing job on the mess that was once my hair. She is a goddess amongst hairdressers! The atmosphere was great, my hair is amazing, and reasonably priced too. Thank you Headhouse, I am glad I found you!

Brook has been cutting and coloring my hair for years. What makes her stand apart from other stylists is that she actually listens to what you want, especially when it comes to color. She is a true professional and artist with her craft and you will never see her without a huge welcoming smile on her face.
Her new salon is absolutely beautiful and it’s equipped with all the fabulous Aveda products one could ever want. I dig her, she’s the best.
