HM’s for a night of charity bingo! Not sure what to expect by way of actual food, but I must admit it was pretty good. Standard apps and burgers with all the sides. We didn’t come for the food however, just the fun bingo experience! What a super fun night!

My second review for Hamburger Mary’s, the first at their new location new 39th and Broadway. It’s also an improved review after my previous experiences at the SW Blvd location left me underwhelmed. Maybe it’s the new location that breathed life back into HM’s. Maybe it’s the smaller real estate or more«clubby» feel. Maybe it’s just what they needed to reinvigorate their food and atmosphere. A recent lunch here reminded me why I used to like their hamburgers so much — they are damn good. Tuesdays are 2 for 1 burgers, such a good lunch deal. The deal and burger didn’t disappoint. Our lunch server was attentive, helpful, and extra friendly. The bacon cheeseburger was outstanding. I’ll definitely be back during lunch time(and most likely on 2 for 1 Tuesdays) to try some other options and enjoy a great burger. I’m glad to see them back on their feet and serving up the fantastic hamburgers they are known for.

This is my favorite place in KC. EVER! The excitement. The Food. Yes, that’s a burger with macaroni and cheese on top! The drag show bingo. I’m so freakin happy! Love the new location and love the much improved and friendly customer service.

I’m giving it a four star because of waiter and entertainment. Hamburgers were good but wouldn’t go out of my way to have one if it weren’t for the great wait staff and entertainment. Place is clean, parking easy. Great prices for food. Had mushroom burger and tots. Tots where fresh and cooked well. Come for the entertainment and wait staff! Well worth it!!!

I like this new location! Came for charity bingo on a Wednesday and I was impressed. It feels wayyyyy more inviting and a lot roomier than the old crossroads location. Bingo was fun! Drag queens were fun, per usual. The food was good too! I enjoyed the seasoning on the fries and the deep fried Twinkies… weird but good, kinda like a funnel cake. I’ll definitely be back to this new space because the old location was kind of a drag :)

The food was nothing spectacular and as a visitor to KC I would’ve chosen somewhere else to eat, but you’re coming for the entertainment. We came for a charity bingo event and I honestly wasn’t sure what was happening half the time. But everyone enjoyed themselves.

Such a fun place! I love coming to their brunch on Sundays. Not only do you get unlimited food with a made to order omelet bar but you also get unlimited Mimosas with your brunch. its around $ 13.00 for just the brunch buffet or $ 22.00 for the food and unlimited mimosas. The show is always fun and entertaining. The drag queens are your servers as well as perform in the show. you can order the brunch buffet or off the main menu. The brunch buffet has your basic of bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits & gravy, cinnamon rolls and French toast. There is also a made to order omelet bar. The brunch food is yummy not cheap in quality but nothing high end. the meats are always cooked well and I just love the gravy they use. Their main menu should you choose to order of that has crazy named drinks and entrees that are sure to make anyone chuckle. Try on of their burgers all the ones i have tried have been very good. On Wednesday or Thursday, maybe even both nights they do a fun Drag Bingo. At Mary’s you are not playing the regular boring games of bingo. They spice it up with some risqué versions with a bit of comedy thrown in. Come with some people from your office it will be sure to break the ice. It could be a fun social event that can cut work tensions that can pop up in stuffy office environments. You should always have a good time at Mary’s. Have a fuzzy T-Bag its my favorite drink. Be sure to get it in the bucket size they offer.

Post Saturday night shenanigans, a couple friends and I went to the Sunday drag show brunch. Like everyone else has said, punctuality is key if you aim on finding a table. Didn’t opt for the brunch($ 22) which includes a buffet and bottomless mimosas, but it looked good. The show is great fun, and has lots of sassy characters(Widow Von Doom was our server). The only drawback I would say is the speed of service. Many of the servers are also the drag queens, so if they are performing, you obviously have to wait for them to finish their performance to serve you. Can’t wait to come back to try a burger and bingo.

Management shouldn’t make excuses for staff especially when they know there is a problem. Fix it, will not return and will not recommend.

We used to love Hamburger Mary’s. It was a fun place to go that also had great burgers. Now that they have moved it seems as though both have suffered. The first time we went in the new place we hated it. Huge posts between some tables and the stage, terrible sound system, the place had no personality. We want to support our community, though, so we were determined to give it a second chance. Good news: they fixed the sound system. Other than that it is still lacking the personality it had at the old place — not to mention the awesome patio and deck — and now the food has gone downhill. We shared the Proud Mary, a full pound of burger with bacon, grilled onions and a «special sauce». The burger was not terrible but it wasn’t cooked as requested and certainly not worth the $ 15 price tag. We also had onion rings and, while not the grease bombs they used to be, they were not overly impressive. Bottom line, it’s a fun place to go with a group or for one of the charity bingo nights, but we won’t be going back otherwise.

My daughter requested to have her 14th birthday dinner at Hamburger Mary’s. Most people would have said no but not us we took her and her friends. The drag show was her first & she loved it and can’t wait to go back, she especially liked tipping the ladies. The food was good with a friendly atmosphere.

It’s definitely a fun place for something different, But once the shock value wears off its just an average restaurant. I’ve been here twice, and the service was very slow and unprofessional both times. Examples: ordering coffee and getting it refilled once or twice over the course of an hour and a half, getting silverware after food, just things generally moving very slowly.

Came here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. Was impressed! Love how everyone treats everyone! Lots of love in the building. The appetizer we had was a mix of things, descent! Most of all, you come here for the atmosphere.

As much as I loved the old Crossroads version of Hamburger Mary’s, the Broadway incarnation is way better. I remember playing Charity Bingo one night in the old location, missing a lot of the hilarity because we were stuck in the back room where we couldn’t see what was going on. On Broadway, the stage is visible from everywhere, and it’s a lot easier to move around when you need to. Otherwise, it’s the same luscious, sassy staff and entertainers, and yummy food and drinks. Even the menu, full of ribald double entendres, is fun to read. Any sandwich I’ve ever had there was huge and delicious, and the sweet potato fries are damn fine, too. Combine all this with what’s up onstage, and you’re in for one fabulous evening!

First time in the new location next to the Uptown. We were going to a concert(Chvrches!) and need to grab a bite before the show so when we happened across Mary’s, we headed in. We were seated immediately, and the waiter was quick and pleasant. We got a Mary Burger with lettuce, pickles and Mary’s Special Sauce — I’ll pass on the obvious double entendre. We also had the Black & Blue Boy with blackened seasoning, bacon, blue cheese and red onion. The burgers were fresh and beefy with excellent juicy flavor. The topping were the right amount and the serving overall was very generous. Very good burger. The fries are just the frozen bag variety, but plentiful nonetheless. This is a fun place with fun staff. Looks like a great place to have a few and watch the crowd.

Two stars for food with the third star for entertainment. I attended charity bingo and had dinner while we played. I really enjoyed the bawdy entertainment and charity bingo. For those not in the know, this is not your grandma’s bingo. Sassy, irreverent, and sometimes down right filthy are all fitting descriptions. The food and service left something to be desired. I ordered the Macho Nachos with chicken and will honestly say they were among the worst I’ve had in a very long time. The cheese sauce was nasty(and this is coming from a girl that likes most canned government cheese). Unless the bingo night is for a charity that I really like I probably won’t return just for the food.

So irreverent! I heard more jokes about genitalia in two hours than I have in ten years. If you’re a prude, stay away. But, I like it. :-) This is a good place to do small charity events… for those unfamiliar they do 10 rounds of irreverent bingo(hard-on, regular ass, rim job, four hookers in a corner, etc) each night for charities from 730 to 930. For food, I had the Barbara Q Bacon Cheeseburger with tots. The burger came out medium just like I specified and the tuts were extra crispy. No complaints at all on the food! My server was excellent, and on other nights he was a drag queen. A man of many hats!

I was here for the first time for a fundraiser. I didn’t get to eat anything but the mojitos were superb. Service was sketchy. The server would disappear for long periods of time, but you could run into that at the old location too. Everyone had a good time and it was a great venue for holding a fundraiser. A lot of folks were eating and the food looked good. I’ll have to go back and give the food a try.

A friend and I went here for lunch today. It looks like there is a ton of potential for a ton of fun … later in the day and into evening. So let’s talk about the food. I ordered the Soup of the Day and the Black & Bleu Sliders. Today’s soup was Corn Chowder which turned out to be a hearty, thick chowder with a savory flavor base that held up well to the plentiful corn and diced potatoes. The sliders were little conveyors for getting the yummy blue cheese to my mouth. If you’re lucky you’ll be treated to performers rehearsing in stilettos complete with imaginary wig flips and lip syncing. If you don’t have fun here, you’re a mean old curmudgeon that no one wants to be around so go back home and go back to bed … forever.

Came tonight for the first time tonight & was overall impressed! I wish I would have gotten the name of our server, but he had a Mohawk with both sides shaved into intricate designs. He was snarky in the best way, made great conversation, & was super helpful from start to finish. To start, the ambiance was fun right off the bat. My friend and I got there too late to play charity bingo, but watching everyone else play was fun itself. Loved the vulgar humor. I got the Sex and the City martini to start off the night and thought it was wonderful, AND they made it pretty strong without me having to ask, which I was also a fan of. For my entrée, I opted for The Rockstar burger, which is stuffed with Gouda, chives & garlic… I was dying. So very well prepared and half of the burger had me full by the end of the meal. Had a lot of flavor. I ordered dessert to go & got the fried twinkies — I was hoping for something like a carnival style taste, but they tasted more like a freshly fried donut. Not mad about it though. I think my review is long enough for anyone that read to know that I will absolutely be coming back.

NEVERAGAIN! We worked hard for months setting up our charity at HM only so that when we showed up we were told«oops we meant to call and tell you we cancelled your event». Apparently another event was willing to pay more than us so we were cancelled without notice. The food sucks too but I guess that’s not why people go here. I’ll never be back.

We came here for bingo night yet again with a fabulous host named Daisy Buckets! She kept us entertained the whole night with loads of jokes and other games besides bingo. She even started taking shots with the crowd which was particularly funny the farther it got into the night! Service was great and I received refills throughout all of bingo without missing a beat. For dinner I ordered the Mac Daddy which was a cheeseburger topped with Mac and cheese. The burger was AMAZING to say the least! It was cooked to perfection and had a very generous topping of Mac and cheese and French fries! This new location is definitely smaller than the last one and definitely doesn’t have as much ambiance as the old location on SW Boulevard but non the less I was still impressed with the service and the food I would most definitely return for bingo night it was so much fun!!! :)

I always wanted to visit the other location, but that never happened. On a Friday night, we decided to try out this new location. We parked in the lot of the strip mall across the street, and the walk was short and safe. We had a perfect seat directly in front of the stage, and we received lots of attention from the performers. Loads of fun, and the show was hilarious. That being said, this is definitely not for kids. I don’t see anything preventing kids, but the humor is raunchy and sexual, so don’t bring young ones here. Karaōke begins after the drag show, but we didn’t stay. I want to come back sometime and make an entire evening of Hamburger Mary’s. The service: I asked the server what the«seasonal rotations» were on tap. She did not really know and mentioned things already listed on the beer menu. Uhm, thanks, but I can read that. She was not at all interested in finding out for me, so I just ordered a Blvd Wheat. Server seemed like she didn’t really want to be there, and while she was not rude, she definitely was not friendly and she never smiled. Oh well. The food: I ordered the GBLT…Guac, Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato with herb mayo. It was delicious! I ordered tots, extra crispy, and they were perfect. My friends all enjoyed their meals as well, so no food complaints! All in all, this is a great place for a fun evening if you are open minded. If you are easily offended or intolerant, do not come here. We had so much fun, and I am glad I was finally able to check it out!

What a hoot! The absolute best specialty burgers and appetisers at very reasonable prices I’ve had in a long time. Very good specialty drinks made with the proper amount of alcohol. Plus hilarious entertainment such as drag queen bingo, for charitable causes, make for a fun evening. Highly recommended for open-minded adults. That being said, I agree with Nathan that the staff of drag queens are very clique-ish, but I don’t go there to find acceptance.

This trip was a Bingo Fundraiser Night for AFSP although we have been to Hamburger Mary’s countless times. I have teenagers and they LOVELOVELOVE going with us.(Not recommended for those under 15 years of age… its bingo played dirty.) We have enjoyed everything on the menu including the hawaiian burger, veggie burger, stuffed burger, and spicy hot burgers. The crowd favorite is the mac and cheese burger. My kids dig it! The fries are great and we love the themed drinks. Our server was awesome and served the teens’ sodas in a bucket. Anytime you can make a teen smile it’s a win and this definitely made their night. We so much appreciate the fundraisers especially when the cause is so near and dear to our hearts. The shows are super entertaining and everyone should make this a destination for a great time.

The new location looks great! One big room instead of multiple rooms and levels dividing the restaurant. This will make going to shows and bingo a lot more enjoyable. Who really liked being stuck in the side bar when the main show was in the main dining area? The new place is also a lot more roomy! Instead of tables packed as close as possible making navigating to the restroom around drag queens performing virtually impossible, you can now easily make your way around the restaurant. The stage is easy to view from all areas. The food is the same. Huge yummy burgers and for those wanting something else a variety of sandwiches, salads, dinners, and appetizers. I think the food quality has slipped a little in the last couple of years, although still great. Hopefully the new location will help with the slow service that Mary’s is notorious for. It is hard to quickly serve food when all the orders come in at once because of rushes for showtimes, but hopefully they have addressed this with a larger kitchen and more staff. Parking is not optimal. There is a lot to the side of the building, but it has really limited spaces. There is street parking and a lot on the next block(I am not sure if there are any restrictions on it.) On a night where there is a show next door, I could see the overall parking being a nightmare. I am a fan of Mary’s. Hopefully as this area grows and develops they don’t up and run again, but this was a good move and a much better building for them.
