As usual with Doctors you never see the Doc at your appointed time. I had an appt at 10:10AM and I didn’t see her until 11:10AM. The front desk told other patients the doctor was running an hour behind but not me… I am giving her 4 stars because she is personable, factual and gets it done quick! Every question I had she answered directly and did not hummmhawww like some Derms I have been too. She will point you in the right direction and give you her opinion on what you should do. She will also tell you if she feels comfortable or not removing a mole or doing a certain procedure. The parking garage is a pain in the butt, no one can park between the lines. If you drive a larger vehicle you should just head right up to floor 6⁄7. This is considered plaza 1 but its in building 3. The nurses were all very friendly and communicative. I have another appointment in May. She is part of St, Lukes Medical Services.

I really liked Dr. Horner. She is patient, relaxed, and pays attention to you. I didn’t feel rushed and she gave great recommendations for clearing up my acne. She put me on Retin-A and told me what products to try for cleaning my face and I have seen AWESOME results. I started getting acne around my chin when I turned 18 and am now 25 and I now rarely get pimples. VERY appreciative for her advice and she is very friendly too.

I met with Dr. Horner in November 2013 regarding a pit on my cheek that I wanted removed/filled/fixed and she said she would have to stitch it. I also have scars on my cheeks from child hood acne and she told me about a laser procedure she does. When I went in for facial surgery I was expecting the pit to be taken care of because it would scar and then to do the laser procedure later for the scarring. She did not do anything to the pit on my cheek but did the laser procedure instead and I’m not sure why. My face broke out for 3 months after the procedure. When I went into Horner’s office for a follow up, I showed her the damage the laser procedure caused. Horner tried to blame it on my IUD(which I’ve had over a year before the procedure) and told me I’d need to get an acne cream prescription. I told Horner that I no longer had health insurance so it’d have to be something cheap. Horner didn’t even offer me a sample of anything and didn’t not explain why she did the laser procedure 1st since I went in for the pit and that would need to be stitched. She offered nothing more, not even an apology. I feel I wasted $ 1200 on messing my face up more than when I went in to see her. She should’ve apologized and scheduled to take care of the pit for little to no cost to me since that’s what I requested originally. She also should have given me samples of acne cream for causing the acne in the first place. Horrible customer service. My best friend makes soaps and sugar scrubs just for me to clear up my skin which worked very well. I feel my best friend helped my skin more than Emily Horner.

I LOVE Dr. Horner! After years of only seeing a Primary Care Physician for skin checks, I decided it was time to see an actual specialist, especially given my significant family history of skin cancer. I asked a good friend for a recommendation and she referred me to Dr. Horner, singing her praises all the while. I was a little skeptical because I wasn’t totally sold on the need to see a specialist, but I had some skin issues that I had already seen a PCP for that were still not better, so I decided to check her out. I was not disappointed! I had made an appointment for a full-body skin check and preventive screening, so this was the first step. The nurse who prepped me was very friendly and put me right at ease. When Dr. Horner came in for my exam, we talked through my lifestyle and family history first and I felt like she was very present. Sometimes, I am not 100% sure if a physician is actually listening that closely to me, but Dr. Horner was clearly focused on my exam. She explained everything she was doing, what she was looking for and if she saw something she thought was a little irregular, she told me exactly why and explained what it meant(good or bad). She found a mole immediately that needed to be biopsied that has been looked over for the last several years of appointments with my PCP. She also was able to tell me right away that the dry skin I had assumed was eczema and chronic was actually a treatable skin condition that is now gone, thanks to her diagnosis and treatment. I am so happy I decided to start deeing a dermatologist and even more so that I chose Dr. Horner. She not only handles the preventive skin care side of derm but she also does cosmetic derm… you better believe that I will be consulting her in the future for all my skincare needs… and you should, too!
