We got a LivingSocial deal for Cuddlebug and they were scheduled to come at 11:30 to our new house. When we scheduled the cleaning we told them the house would be empty and they said that was fine. They came at 11:00, which meant I had to leave work earlier than planned. Even though the deal was for 3 hours, they came out an hour and 10 minutes after starting and said they were finished and asked me to check the house. When checking over the work, it looked as if nothing had been done except for the sink, toilet, and bathtub, and even they didn’t look clean — they just smelled like bleach. When I asked them to dust the shelves, they returned with a dry rag — no cleaning solutions at all. They also stated that they had swept the floors, but they were swept prior to them coming and needed to be mopped, which apparently they also ‘don’t do’. I also asked about the fridge(which was totally empty, all they needed to do was wipe out the shelves) and they responded that they don’t do fridges, even though the fine print in our deal said nothing about that. Our house was no cleaner than they left than when they started, and when I brought up these things and asked them to use the remaining time to go back and do them, they called their boss, called me ‘stupid’, ‘lazy’(keeping in mind that I’m 8 months pregnant) and yelled at me to ‘clean my own s***’. We will most certainly never be using them again and will be contacting Cuddlebug, as well as LivingSocial, about not only their poor work, but gross unprofessionalism. We’ve used other cleaning companies in the past through LivingSocial and Groupon and had very good experiences — I would recommend looking at other companies unless you appreciate paying for work that isn’t done and verbal abuse.

This company is clearly not looking for long-term business. They are on every«deal of the day» site out there and deliver a service that is not much of a «deal». I purchased a 3-hour home cleaning. 2 ladies showed up reeking of cigarette smoke and they only stayed for 2-hours and definitely needed that extra hour to do it right. They dusted down the middle of shelves, but didn’t get the edges or corners. Cleaned the shower floor, but not the doors. Wiped down the top of the stove and inside of microwave, but crusty, greasy food was still on the fronts of both appliances. Didn’t even attempt to dust the blinds or window sills. Also charged $ 8 for tax on a $ 50 bill which I am pretty sure is illegal — you can’t make up your own tax rate(16% vs. 8%). And while I was disappointed in the service, the thing that made me the most mad is that I emailed the company and sent them pictures of the issues I had and they didn’t even acknowledge the email. That is disappointing service all the way around.

Mom’s coming to town and it’s time to hurry up and get some cleaning going on right? I saw a timely voucher(I think Muncharoo) for home cleaning and bought one for this vendor. I called, but was disappointed to find out that they were booked solid, but I told them the situation and asked them to call if they had a cancellation. They DID have a cancellation and I was so excited! They showed up on time(if not a few minutes early) and then I came home to find out: They did NOT stay the time frame we paid for(I believe it was 2 hours, if not more) to clean. The floors were sticky, dusty, and seemed to have been cleaned, but not well at all. I could have done far better on my own. The bathtub and shower was cleaned well, but not spotless. My wife tells me they refused to do some other basics such as countertops, windowsills, etc. I just find the whole experience disheartening. These are not the types of cleaners mom would have come over back in the day. I wasn’t asking for anything fancy like helping fold clothes or putting away items, just basic cleaning. Is it too much to ask that exposed areas get cleaned properly? Perhaps I just have high expectations as the groupon was not cheap and I have a downtown condo less than 1000 Sq Feet. I’m going to have need of a cleaning service when I move out of my condo to rent it soon and I won’t be calling them back for sure. I didn’t get much bang for the buck here at all.
