It’s okay. We have been there three times and tbh the burritos are somewhat bland. The steak is okay but whatever cut they are using is sometimes chewy or fatty. What probably disappoints me the most is the fact that they have a «1 salsa per burrito» rule which is unreal, one salsa for that massive burrito and then charge us for any more? I asked them for more and the lady essentially said«this is all we can give you» despite the fact that I offered to pay more.

Yup, what they said: great burritos, fresh chips, great salsa, for about $ 7! They were out of few things for late Saturday lunch, but we’re cool with that — means they are running out of things because they’re busy, as well as ordering fresh-both excellent signs! Definitely a joint, attached to gas station, adjacent to Helens, which is a dive, perfect! The lady who was running the place-greet, order, prep, cook & cashier-was super nice and super fast. They offer breakfast till 1030-one of the many reasons we will be back!

Very good authentic food! I go for the breakfast burritos which are free and made in front of you. Breakfast burritos are only $ 3.75 and come with fresh chips. They have eggs, chorizo, potatoes, green peppers & noons and cheese.

Ok, so, first of all, when you pull up to this place(which, yes, it is in a gas station), you may wonder why the«To Go» in Burritos To Go is in parenthesis. I don’t really have an answer to that. I mean, they have tables inside so it’s not like you’re forced to take them with you. But, it’s good to know you have the option, I guess. Anyway, as everyone should know by now, not all gas station food is created equal. Some gives you worms and some is just surprisingly good. Thankfully Burritos To Go falls into the latter category. The menus is pretty extensive and has just about every permutation of ingredients you could think of putting into a burrito. This includes potatoes(carbs inside carbs… yum). After you’ve spent five minutes deciding which burrito to get, the order is made fresh(so, plan on needing some time — especially if they are already busy). The final result is a product which, personally, I think is better than Chipotle. That’s what you get when burrito is cooked when ordered and not assembled via a buffet line.

This review is based on the food only, there is a reason their name is burritos to go, as I would not recommend this spot for your date night. It is a place you come strictly for the food, bc it is indeed THEBOMB!!! The prices are reasonable, and the ingredients are fresh. I always get the vegetarian burrito with shrimp. We go at least 3 – 4 times a month. Definitely a nice little gem in NKC.

This place is amazing. Back of the gas station. I would take this Mexican food over any other in Kansas City. #5 with chicken? Yes please.

This place is rock star. I go with the Carne Asada burrito almost every time(they are all good except the smoothered, imo). The burritos are on the large side. The chips are fresh and delicious. Hit this place up!

There are certain times when I definitely crave this place. Working in a nearby office, this place is one of my go to’s when craving burritos. Their special on the steak and shrimp is decently priced, hits the spot, and I consistently can only finish 2⁄3 of it at best. Their salsa Verde is pretty good and spicier than most. Their chips are crispy but can get soft after. Admittedly the flavor is not mind blowing, but certainly above average when I think of burritos. Their biggest win is the amount of food and meat they pack on

I do not live near Northern Kansas city. After eating here, I wish I did. I ordered the number 5 burrito, with steak, potatoes, peppers and onions, chipotle sauce and rice. I expected the burrito to be large, yes, but when it arrived I was certain it would be larger than any child I would birth in the future. I was full halfway through and yet I continued. The flavors were amazing, the tortilla soft, the cheese string and melted and amazing. It came with chips and spicy salsa, which were so good too. It is the kind of burrito you daydream about afterwords for days. I miss you burrito. Why are you gone?

I’ve been reading the reviews on Burritos to go, finally had the opportunity to try it out today. Hole in the wall burrito place attached to a gas station, had the appeal of local greasy spoon so I was excited. Walked in and ordered the special Steak, potatoes, jalapeños and rice. Wrap that in some foil, throw it in a brown bag with a handful of chips and call it dinner. As for taste… It was plain nothing to write home to mom about, let alone a Unilocal review. For me, my tastebuds could have had more enjoyment elsewhere.

I was skeptical on a place that serves burritos in a gas station… but, I got dragged there by some co-workers and thought my rumbling stomach was giving me a sign. I’m so glad I did. I ordered the carne asada burrito and it was fabulous. This burrito was the chipotle size and had great flavor. I’d much rather come here and support local people than a chain. Plus, with the amount of food that you get, it’s a larger portion than Chipotle and cheaper! One of my co-workers got the burrito that was smothered in cheese and it looked awesome too. Chips and salsa come with them as well! I saw they have breakfast burritos as well, I’m gonna have to come back!

This is my favorite lunch spot in KC. I work at a large company down the road and it takes a lot of self control to not go here more than once a week. Everything is fresh. The business appears to be family owned and it is soooooooooo good. Really don’t waste your time with chipotle or any of the chains in KC. Support good local food. The kitchen is located in a gas station, which intimidates most potential customers, but remember some of the best food in KC comes from places in gas stations. Do it you will not regret that you did. Try the el campeon with steak and shrimp it will rock your world and put you into a nice food coma!

I’ve traveled quite a bit and I have to say Burritos to Go is one of the best burritos I’ve ever had. I work in North KC and this establishment is one of a kind. It’s is definitely not fancy and is nestled in the corner of a gas station, but between the two middle-aged Latinas behind the counter and the TV showing telenovelas at lunch time, it has an air of burrito legitimacy. I ordered an El Numero Uno(shredded beef, rice, green sauce) and it was well-made, delicious, and came with a «handful» of tortilla chips. I love spicy food and the green sauce was fantastic, spicy, and, above all else, extra hot. I saved the extra salsa and put it on my breakfast the next day. This place is worth checking out. You’re not going to get an «upscale foodie» dining experience, but you will get a very tasty burrito.

So-so, not a crown jewel to say the least. I work in NKC and some coworkers absolutely adore Burritos To Go. Enticed by the aromas emitted by their lunch, I finally decided to check it out. I opted for the smothered burrito with beef to go. For starters, the salsa is pretty much just the juice from canned tomatoes. Not what I expected. The chips had a weird consistency in general. They started off crunchy and then went soft. Not really sure what happened there. When she built my burrito, she put shredded cheese on top and then popped it in the microwave so the temp was a little off in parts. Burrito faired well overall with a good ratio of beans: rice:meat. It had a little bit of spice to it which was a pleasant surprise! It wasn’t terrible by any means but for $ 10(was only actually $ 8.54, remainder tip) I’d much rather try something else in the area on my own accord. But as far as eating here with coworkers, it’ll more than likely make my occasional lunch rotation.

Nothing gets my rocks off more than a tiny burrito shop with questionable cleanliness. I mean… the place was clean yes, but its tagged onto a gas station which gives that wonderful trucker feel. This place specialized in burritos, including breakfast ones, but has a few appetizers and other options. Basically if you can think of a burrito, this place has it. There are a ton of combinations. I got a spicy chicken burrito with a green sauce. It was big, came with chips and had just the right amount of spice to it. The green sauce was heavy on green peppers(probably why its green, hu?) and the chips were solid. Its served in a paper bag so you know its legit. It just so happens that BTG is a decent bike ride from my place so its a great motivator to get on the pedals. Theres no better goal than knowing a big fat burrito awaits you at the midpoint. Check it out and if you so desire get drunk at Helen’s JAD first!

I absolutely love this place!!! I often come here during lunch to get my Mexican fix and they never let me down. If you order a burrito to go, they also give you chips in the bag that are usually pretty fresh. The food here is good, cheap and authentic. They just bumped up their prices from $ 3.50 to a little over $ 4 for a burrito, but it’s still worth the price. They also have other stuff on their menu besides burritos. You can also get a container of green salsa with your order. It’s not as good as it used to be, but it’s decent. If you want something cheap, good and authentic be sure to check this place out.
