One of my favorite venues to go to! Love the smallness of the venue. Brings a lot of energy and it also sounds great!

So I was here this past weekend with the bf for Hammerween. It’s gong to be hard to say whether my lackluster enthusiasm was due to the show or to the location itself. Honestly, it might have more to do with the event rather than the venue? Or is it the other way around? Either way, to best I can say was that I was less than impressed with the overall venue. The bar, was some what decent… really can’t say all that much given that the bf ordered and just handed me my drinks(I’m not a huge metal fan so this was the compromise we came up with whenever I go to shows with him). But they were strong and not totally bad. As far as the show… was difficult to see from the main floor and was incredibly crowded. Another thing I was just uncomfortable with — because it was an all ages show… there were children running around with drunk adults in the same room. How in the world does this make for a fun Saturday night out?! Honestly, not going to return unless absolutely have to.

Great acoustics, really nice and responsive staff, good layout(including the clutch coupla chairs). We took our little one to an all ages show during Middle of the Map fest and everyone was great — super helpful and accommodating.

Not bad, but the seating is very minimal. They are good about helping us crips get one if you tell them. Sound quality is above average for a bar, but varies depending on where you are.

I came here for an event recently. I thought this venue was okay and nothing special. It got the job done for the event I attended. The cover charge will vary from event to event though the cover charge they told me could have just been for the event I went to. The bar area was quite small and I only ordered a Boulevard Wheat Beer($ 6) from tap. There were a lot of tables to the left of the stage and it was elevated up to overlook the dance floor. I assume it was a dance floor based on the fact that it was a wooden floor with some wear and scuff marks. The parking was not a problem for me because I found some on the street. It was like a block or less from the Westport area. You could find parking and walk over to this place.

Was there for the In Flames concert on 2÷11÷12. I hadn’t been there since the remodel and wow… place is way nicer. Plenty of Bar space, beers were what you’d expect for a concert. $ 5 domestic, $ 6 boulvards. Sight line was fine and I’m 5′ 7″ not really sure why everyone on Unilocal is complaining about that. Acoustics are a lttle rough, especially in the back. There is a sweetspot in the middle of the wood floor area and the front was awesome. I’ve seen many metal concerts here and the place has never looked or sounded better.

Shows here are OK. Drinks are too small and expensive. Staff very rude.

Lots of good shows throughout the year and a country bar when there aren’t shows. Its one of my favorite dive venues in town One of few places you can get right up to the stage. Most shows are general admissions and there is standing room and places to sit.

This is a venue in Westport that mainly presents concerts, but all can house other events such as MMA fighting, salsa dancing and country music. The sound can be a problem if there is a small crowd. As the crowd swells the sound doesn’t bounce around as much and becomes better. It is pretty loud so I recommend ear plugs for whoever you come to see. Sight lines are okay. I recommend getting to the venue early and staking out a spot on the right side of the room on a small elevated mini wall next to a ramp. If you can get a spot here usually you can have a perfect angle to the stage even if somebody tall stands in front of you. The club thankfully has undertaken some renovations to help modernize it a bit. My favorite update is the new bar. It’s been lengthened and made into an L-shape in the back left part of the club. It’s a lot easier and the lines are a lot shorter to get a beer now and the bartenders seem a little happier too. There is also a bar at the top level on the west side after you walk up the stairs. Sometimes you can sneak through and get a quick drink without having to wait too long. One thing of note: the air conditioner is on its last legs. If you’re going to an event in the dead of summer, dress loose. It’s Westport, so parking can be rough, but I would recommend parking in the parking garage behind the venue. It’s free and if it’s early you can walk through the building out to Jefferson Street and enter through the Box Car, usually not having to wait in line. Enjoy the show.

Small venue but great sight lines to the stage. There has been a significant push to upgrade the facilities since I was there last and it feels a little more grown up without losing that ‘edgy’ feel. The staff were all welcoming and put on a good ‘face’ for the place. Drinks were a touch on the pricy side but all in all, a good place to see(and hear) a live show.

Everything about this place is just… well it’s not that great. Seeing a show there — meh, it’s OK. The venue is fine, but the acoustics leave something to be desired in my opinion. Maybe I am wrong, but that has been my thought. There is actually a little side bar you can go to too, even without a show going on. It’s long, narrow, sparse, and boring, with a guy basically playing his iPod in the corner and overpriced drinks. With all the bars in Westport, why come here? Just not my kinda place, I dare say.

I’ve seen probably 50+ shows at the Beaumont Club as well as several partys and events. One of the first few shows I seen there was Slipknot in 2000 and the last time I was there was on St. Patty’s day. The venue has seen many changes but still managed to keep the same feel. One of the long time staples is the mechanical bull of which I have never ridden. I am to fat thanks. The staff at the Beaumont is to be commended. From the amazing bar staff, I suggest you have Jonas make you something blue, to the security. Even when I had to be removed once they were very nice and professional. I will not comment as to why. The company I work for has put on a few concerts there and it’s always a pleasure working along with these folks. So whether your attending a Hooligan holiday party, another of many Kottonmouth Kings concerts or planning on doing a show here yourself it should be a time to remember. Unless your having drinks. Then maybe not so much.

The Bromont is one of a few, if not only, mid-sized venues somewhere between the Record Bar and the Uptown. If you’re familiar with Lawrence, think Granada only without the tiered floor. I’ve had some recently good(Ratatat, Interpol) and bad(Ed Sharpe and zeros) experiences here and I think I have figured out some key elements for successful trips to the B-mont. First of all, there are some«meh» aspects of this place that can’t be avoided– bad/expensive beer selection, tweeny crowd, weird acoustics. That being said, I’ve personally found two ways to have an extra-ordinary concert experience at this place: 1. Arrive early. Up above I mentioned that the acoustics here are weird. The sound is good near the front of the stage, too loud in the middle, too loud right in front of the speakers(makes sense, I guess), and so-so near the back. The back sucks double-worse because you can’t see anything unless you’re 6′-0″+. So, I recommend sacrificing an hour or two to wait in line to get a good spot up front. 2. If you don’t arrive early, arrive with a good buzz. Due to some miscalculations I once arrived late to see Passion Pit and was stuck in the way back. We couldn’t see anything and we were jammed into a pack of sweaty tweens, but we had a grand time dancing and singing along. I actually haven’t tried to combine scenarios #1 and #2, as they might be mutually exclusive. But if such a case is possible, I suspect it would result in a 5-star type of experience. I don’t necessarily recommend the B-mont for shows, but it’s hard to avoid. Lots of good bands that come through KC end up playing here. C’est la vie.

Perhaps my least favorite major concert venue in the Kansas City area. The bartenders are rude, the drinks are over-priced, and the sight lines are terrible. All in all, everything combines to make for an amazingly unappealing location. The recent remodel solved the problem of not enough bathrooms, but introduced another. In order to see the show, you need to be up front. If you’re further than 30 – 40 feet from the stage, you’ll be lucky to see a band member’s head. However, if you’re up front, you get to smell the wafting odors from the bathrooms to the rear and stage-left. We were able to see the concert we attended this week, but had to contend with a near-constant stream of smells from the bathrooms. The beer selection is all cheap domestics, with the addition of a couple from Boulevard, all priced at $ 6. You’ll pay that much at the Midland — a much nicer venue, to say nothing of the fact that you’re getting a better beer in a Peroni or Drifter Pale Ale. The place is, essentially, a warehouse with a stage at one end and bars and bathrooms at the back. It sounds about the same, and is as comfortable as one, too. I actively avoid seeing shows at the Beaumont unless I have no choice in the matter whatsoever, and would avoid you do the same.

Not a fan. Been there a couple of times. Crowded, chaotic, acoustically deficit, scummy dirty, and parking is inventive to say the least. Won’t see me there again.

The Beaumont is a cavernous place to see a show, well suited to huge rock units… yet the setting makes it seem most appropriate for an alt folk or bluegrass or country act, with the wood floors and adornments. Hank III played here in June and I had every intention of seeing him, but I wasn’t able to do so. I am certain this was the perfect venue to see him in, possibly better than CBGB, where I saw his band play over 5 years ago. Instead, I most recently saw local KC favorites(and Pitch winner for best local rock act, oh yeahhhhh!), Federation of Horsepower here earlier this month. The sound was good and loud enough to entice an eff ton of people off the streets and into the club. What was an empty room soon became a packed one! Go FOP! They had specials, a nice surprise when you’re at a place that’s strictly a live music venue: $ 3 Tito vodka drinks the night I was there, however, that was b/c Tito’s was sponsoring the Pitch event. Otherwise, drinks seemed to be rather expensive($ 5 Flat Tire beers, $ 6 calls)…then again, you have to expect that at a venue that isn’t a bar. I’d definitely return to see a show here. Ticket prices are more than fair. I appreciated the seating in the back so you could be away from the bands if you wanted to have a conversation. If you wanted to be closer to the bar and a bit closer to the stage, there is a section with high tables and bar stools. My, I sound like all I care about is sitting and drinking these days. I promise I do a lot of standing when the band I’m there to see goes on… unless I’m wearing incredibly high heels. OK, so that’s pretty often. Look, I’m not a Doc Martin-wearing whippersnapper anymore, people! Give this old lady a break and a cocktail!

I came to the Beaumont to see Wolfmother. This was my first experience at this venue. I would definitely see something here again. It was clean and open. The bartenders were awesome. The only thing that was kinda crappy was that I asked for a Boulevard Pale Ale and they poured it in a plastic cup from the bottle. No glass on the floor I guess. Boo. There was plenty of good cold a/c in the place but the sweaty bodies made the temperature rise 20 degrees before the show was over. This is a great venue that I recommend, and my recommendations are highly valuable.

After an evening of catching up with an olé bud at the Intercontinental over scotch, gunpowder green and vegan fare here comes the main event. Homie’s gotta spin some tunes. We’re only running slightly behind, chariot arrives outside commandeered by the event producer who was quite a jovial fellow. Discussing venue logistics on the ride over posed one interesting challenge I had never contemplated while there as a patron-there is no stage bathroom. Posing a problem for Mr. Just Drank 4 Cups of Tea… beer bottle it may have to be. He starts his set, It’s close to 1 at this point. I peruse the changes that have occurred in this classically dirty divey music venue I haven’t visited since the years when booze wasn’t an option. Now that it is I poke around a bit with a brew. First observation is the back bar that is well lit and seemingly lacking that extra coat of filth the rest of the Beaumont has… it almost appears to be… sanitary…clean…however it also looks out of place and the peeps back in this realm don’t seem to want anything to do with the front and vice versa. Alright Beaumont, on the real your bathrooms are like nothing I’ve ever seen and I tolerate a lot of filth in venues like these but WHOA. Its creepy dirty. Doors hanging off their hinges, the entire floor covered with an array of used and unused paper products, slight flicker to the lights and painted graffiti profanity everywhere. Shit covered toilet seats, shitters lacking toilet seats. I am intimidated by this, I feel like a stripper with a machine gun attached to her stump *Grindhouse Style* might jump out from behind door number 4 and call it a game over. I opt to hold it. The sound is great, the sounds emitted by the system are better. Producer has pulled this whole show together well and works the crowd in a fun fashion. 2:30 rolls around and mad dash out the side door back to the chariot and escape to the hotel before the Lexus turns into a pumpkin. The Beaumont is a good place for an intimate show, and if they’d make it easier to relieve yourself *CLEANTHEBATHROOMS, just a tad bit* I’d be more prone to see another show there that I actually pay for.

The Beaumont Club is a pretty nice music venue. They mostly have smaller local bands, but sometimes there are band names that I know, like Split Lip Rayfield or Katy Perry. The website is a schedule of their upcoming shows. Usually ticket prices are pretty reasonable as well, no matter who the performer is. You can also purchase the tickets the day of the event at the office, if it isn’t sold out. It is a smaller venue, but that makes it more intimate and the acoustics are pretty good. Sometimes it gets a little dirty, but what concert venue doesn’t?! The drinks are usually really strong and reasonable as well, which are always a good thing.
