ProTek Inspections

We would recommend ProTek Inspections for anyone! My partner and I used ProTek before closing on our first home. Janis (pronounced «Yanis») was incredibly thorough with his inspection. We met him at the house and he gave us a tour of the house and property with all of his observations. This was incredibly educational and included many tidbits beyond the scope of the inspection (including a bit of history on how the house was built, how to increase energy efficiency, likelihood of asbestos containing materials/​lead, etc.).
Our very detailed and easy-​to-​read (including pictures!) inspection report arrived in my inbox within 24 hours, although they say it can take up to 48 hours. We also had a radon screening completed with the inspection, which was reported in a timely manner.
Yanis and the ProTek crew easily saved us thousands of dollars by knowing what to fix, what NOT to fix and when to get a second opinion. Janis knows what he knows and will recommend a second opinion when it is beyond his expertise. He is experienced and easy to work with. A very friendly guy. The business manager, Malda, was also very kind and helpful with us. She was informative and patient with us having lots of questions about purchasing our first home.
Apparently, realtors don’t like ProTek because they are very thorough, which can often result in deal-​breakers. For home-​buyers, an extensive, thorough inspection is necessary so you know exactly what you’re getting into or if it’s something you don’t want to go forward with at all. ProTek offers this service, and we highly recommend them.

I have used Pro-​Tek on two occasions and have been impressed both times. The individual we had, Janis, thoroughly walked room to room explaining what he found and even offered recommendations of items he would do differently once we moved in. I would recommend and also use Pro-​Tek again.

I have used Pro-​Tek Inspections on two occasions. First as part of a pre-​purchase inspection, and more recently to assist with resolving some poor quality work that was completed by a contractor.

The home inspection was extensive and detailed, and written so a novice like myself could digest it easily. I found it very helpful in completing the negotiations on the home and it worked as a blueprint for future improvements.
Recently I hired Pro-​Tek to assist with a situation on a very poorly installed roof. Janis was very kind, reassuring, and gave excellent advice. Since then we have resolved the situation with the manufacturer to our satisfaction.
I find Janis and his entire staff to be highly professional. I recommend them to anyone purchasing a home.

Save your money. Everything really important was «beyond the scope» of the inspection. We’ve found many things that were not mentioned in the report. Cracked floors, undersized electric wires, inaccuracies. He was surely working for the realtor to close the deal– not for us. We forgot to get our own inspector– don’t use the one your realtor recommends!
