Came here for the first time today and wasn’t really satisfied. Some of the flavors tasted a little off like the yogurt was old/turning. They have a wide selection of toppings compared to other frozen yogurt shops. Ended up getting the Dole Whip, Strawberry, and Li Hing which were still good and able to satisfy my craving.

Went to Yogurt Mama a couple times during my visits to Hawaii and it was delicious! I have been to many self serve yogurt places and Yogurt Mama is definitely one of my favorites. On top of the great yogurt and drinks the staff is also very friendly and helpful during my decision process. I can’t wait to try their new flavors next time I visit!

Happy to find a great yogurt spot on this side of the island! They have lots of yogurt flavors, and many different toppings to choose from. There’s lots of seating inside. It’s pretty big and has large windows so you can people creep. The owners are so nice and gave us a free sample of lychee. Will definitely go back!

The yogurt was fine — the problem was the rude employee who was cleaning and trying to rush me out because they closed in 30 minutes. I don’t know what the deal was, but I can easily get some yogurt and be gone in 30 minutes…

Our first time here last night and we will not be returning. The employees ruined our experience. No smile. No greet. No thank you. Yogurt was decent but the service ruined it.

What amazing service along with delicious yogurt! We came and tried to use a gift card that we had gotten years ago. The cashier tried to process the gift card and couldn’t get it to work. She then called the owner and he wasn’t able to get the register to accept the gift card. He then realized that it was a gift card that was issued by the previous company who had owned the store. He explained that after they bought the store, they continued to accept the old gift cards for several years. Unfortunately, we were late and out of luck. We were bummed because we had more unused gift cards at home(on Maui). Although it wasn’t the owner’s fault, he apologized to us several times. Finally, as we were leaving, he gave us a new $ 20 gift card and wished us a happy new year. We were all blown away and touched by this very kind act! If you are in the Kailua area and want something sweet to eat, please consider visiting this store. This guy is a class act and full of the Aloha spirit that we very rarely see nowadays. I hope these owners are able to stick around for a very long time. Please support this great company — awesome yogurt flavors, friendly and top notch service! Thanks Yogurt Mama — we’ll definitely be back!

The yogurt is normal, self serve with toppings. So you can’t complain if something taste off, you made it! The only thing that makes me rate 2 stars is the employees. Came here twice and the same thing happened with different cashiers. They don’t greet you when you walk in, don’t offer sample cups, don’t say anything to you but your total. Both never told me my change back, nor did I get a «thank you». I know I was in a good mood both nights, so it couldn’t have been a vibe I gave off. Really seems like they don’t want to be there at all. Aside from that, it was quite slow and the tables weren’t wiped. I got a lychee yogurt with the pops, sprinkles, and cookie dough, which was good. But customer service was horrible. Is it too much to ask for a smile?

On a mission to try and find a great Milk Tea close to home. This was my first stop and was not at all impressed. The Regular Milk Tea here is awful, almost medicinal tasting… I should’ve listened to teresa v. The Honey Boba, however was great. I dumped out the drink, saved & rinsed the Boba, and added an Arizona Iced Tea to it… much better. I also ordered a Black Tea, Strawberry with Honey Boba and will come back for that.

We met the owner today when we stopped by for some yummy yogurt. He was very friendly and told us that they make most of their yogurt! I had a little bit of pumpkin(feeling festive) and pineapple dole whip with Mochi toppings. My hunny had chocolate and vanilla with various toppings. I love taking my kids here so they can be creative with their yogurt blends. The décor is very cute and I love the bathroom. There are framed rubber ducks pictures on the wall and it’s the cutest thing ever!

Ok so plus side is I absolutely love this place because it’s my kids favorite spot! We come here atleast once every few weeks! The yogurt is great and so are the toppings! THEONLYTHING, make sure you let them know you’re using their bathroom! Why you may ask? Because they have a single bathroom that needs key access, so they have a cup with a key on it for you to use on the door. What I didn’t know is that they have a second key their employees use and I LITERALLYGOTWALKEDINON by an employee while I was ONTHETOILET!!! How embarrassing!!! Never using the bathroom there again!

Based on milk tea only! The second star is for the friendly service from the super smiley cashier. :) The milk tea: No Bueno. We tried the regular and taro milk tea, both with the advertised honey boba and just no. Tastes super watered down, not creamy, and not tea-y at all!

I decided to treat my kids to a last night of summer treat. Majority of the frozen yogurt was halfway melted coming out of the machines. One of the teenagers working was kissing all over her boyfriend while on break on the floor(my children sure got an eye full), and by the looks of the floor, the place hadn’t been mopped in ages. Not sure we will be back. It’s gotten increasingly dirty each time we’ve been in.

Ah! Another frozen yogurt place. I might be weird, but I don’t mind! This place is cute and the staff is always(at least when I’m there) friendly. The place is clean and the yogurt area is clean and not sticky.(I hate sticky!) The prices are comparable to other froyo places, but this place offers something that it’s competition a few streets over does not — BUBBLETEA! They have this HUGE size that will satisfy your need. It’s not that expensive either. Overall, a great place to visit. The only reason that I didn’t give Yogurt Mama 5 stars is that the parking lot can be a real pain. It’s tiny and is shared with the other stores in the building. So, if the lot is full, I will just continue down to the other froyo place down the road.

It is a nice place to get frozen yogurt. They must have fixed something, because my yogurt wasn’t runny this time. Toppings always fresh, this is good. I was a bit surprised how full this place is after dark, I thought life in Kailua pretty much dies after dark. I stand corrected. The clerk was really nice too!

I brought my Mini Me in with me after disappointing her that I had my schedule mixed up on a play date. This was one of the cleanest Fro Yo places I’ve been to. The cashier was nice and constantly cleaning all the spouts and counters when there was not customers in there. It was pretty inexpensive per ounce. I spent $ 3 on my daughters. She is a plain Jane strawberry girl, but I did get her to let me try the pistachio in hers. Both were great flavors. They have the typical toppings as any other Fro Yo place on island. I have to say I pulled in the parking lot to the left of the building and it was full. That was a hot mess to get out of there and having to backup onto a busy Main Street.

Pretty good Froyo place. Pros: Moderately Cheaper than most locations. Plenty of Toppings. Alot of Seating Options. Plenty of Parking Cons: Closes on the Dot. Staff sort of rushes you out. They start cleaning up around 15 minutes prior to closing. All the time. *I only had one bad experience. Cash Register was broken, so instead of using other cash register they were talking to the«boss» on the phone for 15 minutes to get this solved. They finally switched Cash Registers and my Yogurt was already melted. This could have been easily solved by a mature worker, but all of the staff working here are H. S Students.

My niece loves this place but I almost died when I put two of the smaller cups of frozen yogurt and toppings(¾ full, not overflowing or anything) on the scale and the cashier told me I owed $ 18.87 ! Last time I had gone(in 2012) it was about $ 5 per person. In answer to my look of panic she only replied«the fresh fruit makes it really heavy» and I glumly handed over my credit card. Although I pasted a smile on my face for my niece, I totally did not enjoy my yogurt as a result, as I sat there secretly fuming about letting myself get sucked into paying $ 19 for a pretty crappy dessert for 2. That would buy a lot of Haagen Daz ! Also something in my bowl had that tangy bubbly sour taste of «about to go bad»… I think it was the mandarin orange segments. (My fear at these places is that when they re-fill an item they may just add new pieces into the old container and everything goes bad much quicker as a result. Don’t know if thats what happened here but I have known people who have worked at places that did that… mixing new product into leftovers in a used container causing the new product to spoil that much faster. This was done out of ignorance of youth but I know it does happen.) So happily when I got home and actually looked at my receipt it was only(!) $ 13.87 for the two yogurts not $ 18.87. I guess the cashier just read the number wrong on the register. Still, I can think of a lot of desserts I would rather pay $ 7 per person for, than what I had at Yogurt Mama. I assume it was an honest mistake, but I was glad I paid by credit card… if I had paid cash which total would she have used to make my change? This would be one way for an employee to pocket $ 5 cash and still have her register come out even. I do think it was an honest mistake of reading a 3 as an 8. Anyway. It also pisses me off that after paying $ 13.87 for two yogurts, they won’t give you a free cup of tap water. If you want water you have to buy bottled water for $ 1.25. This is the only frozen yogurt or ice cream place I’ve been to that has that policy. When I mentioned to the cashier that she should check the mandarin orange segments, that they didn’t taste right, she just said«really?» as if that was impossible and then didn’t make a move that I saw to actually taste them herself. Next time I will take my niece to Island Yogurt.

Wow, so this place lasted since my last review! Go Yogurt Mama! I’m really glad when locally owned businesses survive. That’s what makes Kailua so special is with pushing for local businesses. Anyway, my gripe before was that there wasn’t enough parking. Ask and you shall receive. Someone knocked down the building next door and turned it into a parking lot. It’s not the prettiest parking lot, but it serves its purpose: provide parking. I wish there were more trees in the lot, but this isn’t a review of the parking lot! The choices still rotate, which is good because it’s not like they have 30 flavors or anything. I’ve been averaging about every other week here and while there is usually the plain tart flavor, the other flavors change. I’ve noticed that they do have more jelly items as toppings and the fruits have become more of the canned variety. Maybe because it is winter and not summer! But overall, they keep this place pretty clean and orderly. The best times to go are still the afternoon times so there isn’t much change to that. So why not the perfect rating? Well, mainly because they don’t have a ton of choices for froyo. Which I happen to really like their taro, but I haven’t seen it in a while. Boo. But at least there is always plain tart. Otherwise, this place is awesome now that more parking has opened up!
