Wanting to celebrate a loved ones milestone birthday but living thousands of miles away from her left me having to leave that task to a florist that I did not know. Choosing Island Orchid Florist was the best decision that I could have made.
I called them and explained my situation to Mike and he assured me that the flowers would be beautiful. That was pretty much an understatement because I received a call from my aunt telling me, that on this her 85^th birthday, they were the most beautiful flowers that she has ever received.
Can’t thank them enough for being my spokesperson. Don’t even think about shopping around if this florist is in your locale. Mahalo Island Orchard!

Such a great experience! I live on the mainland and my moms moved there this past march. This was my mom’s first birthday away from my brother & I. Granted, we’re in our twenties & thirties, but we’re a close family. Anyways, i called & told them she just moved here, it’s her birthday, she likes pink & purple & of course anything tropical, and boy did they deliver. Not only physically (ensuring it made there same day) but also aesthetically. They made a beautiful arrangement, wrote exactly what I wanted on the card, delivered it with a personally sweet phone call, and all for a killer deal. I cannot praise this place enough and the fact that it brought my momma to tears, means they made it especially meaningful during this time. Thank you, thank you, thank you Island Orchid Florist; you have really made this day & experience extraordinary.

I recently used Island Orchard Florist to surprise a friends daughter with a Haku lei for her birthday. I decided on them because of their great reviews and visiting their face book page. I needed the lei just as the hurricane in August was ready to reach land. They were still very tentative working with me under the stress of the current weather conditions. Needless to say the Haku lei turned out beautiful! They even brought her an extra orchid spray that was very thoughtful of them. My friend was also so impressed that she decide to use them for her renewal ceremony the following week. We both found Amy and Michael to be very friendly and wonderful to work with. Their flowers are amazing and reasonably priced. I hope I get another chance use them:)

Mike the owner is a very nice guy. He hung out for me to pick up a couple of flower leis for my love. The prices were fair and mike treated me just as well as if I were spending a whole lot more. You folks saved me.

Amy and the family are great. They were very generous on assisting with my grandmother’s birthday and was very efficient on delivering 20 ti leaf leis to Oahu from the Big Island. The leis were beautiful, well constructed, and came the day it was expected to arrive. Anyone who is interested in Hawaiian floral arrangements anywhere on the islands or even the Mainland, they should come to Island Orchard Florist. They also do much more than Hawaiian arrangements so please contact them on your vision and I am sure they will deliver and exceed your expectations.

I recently had my destination wedding at the Four Seasons and was looking for an outside florist to do the flowers since the FS on site florist was outrageously expensive. I took a leap of faith based on the Unilocal reviews and contacted Amy.
Since I was planning from afar I was a little worried how the final results would turn out. But Amy was more than willing to meet me at the hotel (which was 40 minutes from her) with my wedding coordinatoor just prior to the wedding. She even gave all of us little welcome flowers. She is so sweet in person and was more than accomodating in my needs — she was willing to decorate the chuppah with tulle and hang the florals on it which I’m sure wasn’t easy to do. She also worked with my best friend to decorate the tables with votives and silk petals. She didn’t have to do these extra things but she did.
She was also able to keep within my budget but turn out fabulous results with the bouquets, flower girl flowers, head leis, centerpieces and leis for the guests — it looked like I paid way more for my flowers. She even threw in a small bouquet for the toss even though I hadn’t ordered it. I gave it to my single sister in law :) I got tons of compliments from my guests over the beautiful flowers — it really made the wedding more beautiful than I had imagined.
I kept my cascading floral bouquet for a week until we had to leave and it still looked amazingly fresh. See my pic. Now that’s quality. When we had to leave for the airport, I couldn’t bear just throwing away my flowers so I gave them to an elderly lady having lunch next to us and she was thoroughly delighted — and I was happy that someone else could enjoy Amy’s fabulous work.

So I booked Island Orchard Florist for my upcoming wedding in July (I live in California). I was very excited to work with Amy and Michael, especially after reading the reviews and speaking to Amy on the phone. About a month ago I signed a contract and put down a deposit to hold the date.
Today, I receive an email from Amy saying she refunded the deposit and cannot commit to my wedding (which she already committed to by taking my money) due to POSSIBLE travel plans in July.
#1 — Any considerate or respectable business would have called me to let me know rather than sending an FYI email. I’d still be frustrated, but I’d at least have some respect for the person on the other end of the line.
#2 — When I called Amy to discuss the email she sent she said she apologized for the miscommunication… miscommunication? There was none. She gave her word by taking my money, now she changed her mind and could’n’t even pick up the phone to talk to me about it. Amy also said she could commit if it were a small wedding (which ours is — 25 people) but she can’t because I had asked her about flowers for the reception yesterday via email. I explained on the phone I didn’t want reception flowers, but she still refused to honor her commitment to me.
I would never work with someone with such disregard for their clients. This situation could have been avoided had it not been handled so poorly.

I found Island Orchard Florists through a poster on a
forum. Thank God I did! My husband and I recently got married on the Big Island and did all of our event planning ourselves. We were lucky to find Amy (the owner) who definitely understood our vision for the wedding. She and her husband and staff created the perfect floral arrangements, bouquets, leis, hair flowers, and cake flowers for our wedding. Amy calmed my nerves, had great suggestions and was able to stay well within my budget. I was lucky enough to get cymbidium orchids grown on the Big Island as the central flower for the day. They were more beautiful than I had imagined. My flowers are still being talked about today by the guests and everyone who has seen the photos! Amy was also so helpful in making suggestions for caterers (see review of Cater Hawaii) and an officiant (see review of Pastor Keith Elliott at
). I give her most of the credit for the day going off without a hitch!
