Big Island Tattoo & Piercing

My daughter wanted to get her first tattoo here in Hawaii. So we checked Unilocal,and this place got great reviews. But so did others. We ventured out and went to a few shops, and almost made an appointment with another shop. I forgot about this place until we stumbled upon it. Becky was very nice as soon as we walked in becuase the shop was closed and she still let us in. Rockwood is a great artist who drew up what my daughter was looking for where as the other shops did not. He was so kick back and they’re both very nice. We made the appointment and the result is beautiful! Thank you Rockwood and Becky for making Shelby’s first ink a memory very special for us.

Wow… how can you go wrong with an artist who used to tattoo members of Motley Crue? Rockwood is an amazing artist who can free-​hand most tattoos that you want on your skin… if you want the best, go to their shop.

I came to Hawaii for vacation and knew i wanted to get a tattoo while i was here… I googled some places and found this shop had the best reviews and photos similar to what i wanted to get. Well I am SO HAPPY I went there. I made an appointment for my second to last day on my trip and went in the friday before to talk with Rockwood about a design for one of the things i was interested in that I just couldn’t quite draw out myself. I explained what i wanted and then watched him draw the perfect design for me and right then decided to get 2 tattoos in the same sitting. He was very professional, very quick (and thank goodness for that because one of them was along my ribs) — and even with as quick as he was the quality is top notch. Better than some others’ I’ve gotten. I even met someone in another town who had gotten work done from him that after 23 years still looked amazing. Truly a treat to get ink done here by him. Becky was very awesome also, and always answered my email questions prior to my landing on the island and was knowledgable and friendly when I arrived at the shop. I would highly recommend him and this shop to anyone on the island and/​or at home! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE MY NEW ARTWORK!!!

This is THE only place you should go to if you want ink. Becky rocks with her ability to make you feel like you are being greeted by an old friend. Rockwood rocks with his amazing artwork that he will tailor to you as an individual, and a big plus is that he is so skilled he can get the job done in less that half the time and it comes out perfect. Only downside, I live in San Clemente, CA and have to take a 5 hours flight! Ink is forever… so go to the best.

Rockwood does outstanding work! My piece turned out way better than I hoped for. Becky was very professional, returned emails and calls quickly. I will be back!

Just had work done on my ribs. Rockwood was fast, because it was in a sensitive area. He is very friendly, informative, and talented. Awesome job done by an awesome guy.

If there was a way to give you a ZERO star, that would be more appropriate. You should never ever ever ever do another body piercing as long as piercing exists on this planet. How can you actually have put in a navel piercing on a 14 yr old girl UPSIDE DOWN, with the wrong ring type. Please if you are reading this and considering any body piercing, avoid this place at all costs. Go straight to Lady Luck Tattoo around the corner… We were sent to this other store on a recommendation and thank goodness got it fixed. Rockwood, you do NOT rock.

We came here on a Saturday without an appointment. Not a problem, just pay a deposit and you’re good to go. Rockwood is so fun to talk to, he has a lot of stores from his time in Hollywood. He’s tattooed a lot of rockstars and celebrities, too. He’s also very quick, which I’m sure everyone who has ever been tattooed appreciates because although we all love the end product sometimes the getting-​there part can be tough. My boyfriend wasn’t too sure about what to get, but with Rockwood’s expertise and advice he walked away with some awesome new ink. We both really enjoyed our experience there and when I’ve mustered up the courage I’m coming back here to get my tattoo as well!

I only trust Rockwood with my skin art. He really is the BEST!!!
